In 96' when this movie came out, I was playing in a band and I absolutely loved the movie. It shows how a slow ballad can instantly be turned into a hit and take off with an adjustment of the tempo. I still watch it from time to time. In fact it's on right now. Bye bye!
It was one of my all time favorite movies as a preteen back in the 90s. I watched this show countless times. Now as an adult I actually love it even more. I now have a lot more appreciation for the talent, and humor in this film. Also, now that I am old and tired, I have so much more appreciation for the goofy, fun, energy and charisma that the young cast brought. (When I first watch this movie as a 12 or 13 year old, I thought the main characters seemed so grown up, but now that I am in my 30s they all look like kids.)
@ryanborchardt-koplien6721 Wow! That was kinda harsh don't ya think? Maybe the guy is just a kid and you need to learn to spell or turn on your spell check because you said YOU'RE BEEN LIVING IN A ROCK. THE WAY IT SHOULD'VE BEEN SAID WAS "Where have you been living, under a fucking rock?? Moron!!
Oh my gosh so did I! I actually think it is such a huge lost opportunity that his character wasn’t featured more in the film. It’s like the movie tired to make him one of those invisible people that no one pays attention to, his character didn’t even have a name and no one even noticed, (which actually became a running joke throughout the movie). Even as more of a background character, he still stole countless scenes, and he was absolutely hilarious, and energetic all while being so innocent. This is actually one of my few critics of the movie, (That and I wish Lenny’s character would have sang lead vocal more than just the one song.) It is one of my all time favorite movies.
Tom Everette Scott hasn’t changed much the rest are lookin a little rough. But that was a good movie ive seen it several times can’t believe its 25 years old. I was 14-15 when it came out lol
I myself really enjoyed & liked the movie 🎥🍿 very well I didn't recognize or know any of the #4 main male actor's but I knew who Tom Hanks was,and Liv Tyler and Charlize Theron was & of course who Rita Wilson was too but I'm happy 😁 for the #4 male actor's getting their moment to shine & become famous in their own right's after the movie 🎥🍿 had become a box office hit the guy who played the lead singer who went off and was in several TV Show's playing a bad guy, I'm not sure if I've seen him in any movie's yet since he was in That Thing You Do which helped put him on the map of being noticed as an actor I wish all them the best that life has to offer them in the future career's & in their live's in general congratulations to you on your #25th anniversary That Thing You Do!!!😁🆒💯💯🙌🙌🔥🔥❤️💜💖👏👏🎥🍿
This is easily one of the most underrated movie of all times.
What it lacks in structure it makes up for in heart.
100% agree. It’s in my top 5 Movies
One of my favorite movies ever!! Makes me feel old though that it’s 25!

I absolutely loved that movie!!!
We need a sequel taking place in the 90s! Plus have a young generation such as kids of Guy and Faye form a band and reunite the band.

Hey I'm a big fan
Anytime some suggests that drummers aren't real musicians, just remember this line: you can't fake the drums.
Bryan Cranston prior Breaking Bad had a cameo in this flick... and some who have been big names today
