Great review and love your channel and input! I agree with you on the Etha 3 I just want to add the following. I feel like the G-TEK 170r is the most overlooked and underrated tournament ready marker on the market. The Etha 3 to me is what the ion was for smart parts which is what I started playing tourney’s with but having a screen and tool less features makes tourneys much easier so that you can make sure your gun is ready and do the regular maintenance on the spot no matter what. And for an extra 250 you can have all the features of the high end markers with a 170R. Love Planet Eclipse 🙌 And much love to your channel. Thank you for all the great content and love of the game.

I'm still using the original GTek, and while I like the value proposition of the Etha 3, I just can't get over the harder grips. I love the rubber grips of the GTek.

Just got the Etha 3 with the Spire IV, and paired with my EMEK 100 fitted with a PAL loader and HK Barrel upgrade I have literally everything I need to play any format, any field, any style I want.
Lmao I got the Emek as well ! The ETHA3 is great for me and my Emek pal I love so now I have the best of both worlds ! Electric and Mechanical!

One of the things I love about the Etha 2 is how you can remove the battery without tools. I'm a little surprised they added in a screw when the first one worked so well. Was it popping off on some people? To me it is very solid, I don't understand why they changed it. Glad to see they added the tool less bolt removal!
The toolless bolt removal body is available separately, so someone could use the Etha2 lowers with toolless battery + toolless bolt for the ultimate no tools Etha
My etha 3 does have toolless battery removal. Weird.

Some paintball site uses etha for rentals.
And some customers liked to steal batteries…

1. Couldn't agree more with @jponthetree. I'm currently getting back into paintball after a 6 year hiatus cuz, yaknow, life. Watching your videos has been super helpful in re-navigating the landscape and understanding what has changed. PLUS, all of your videos covering the PE GTEK 170R convinced me it was the right one for me and sure enough it is PERFECT.
2. You gotta start a podcast or even look into getting involved in voice acting or audiobook recordings. I would listen to you read me a book to fall asleep every night lol.

i literally got rid of all my other markers and now just own an Etha 2 and an Emek. Reason being RELIABILITY. Got tired of fancy highend markers acting up like a diva when i just want to get to the field gear up and start playing.

I was planning on getting the etha3 until I realized that it's a upgraded etha2. I'm keeping my etha2 and wait for planet eclipse or a etha 3 owner to sell the blade trigger. don't need the body/valve chamber because I have the inception designs fle body and not too bother by screwing the bolt
I'm sure if you contact Eclipse they will sell the Etha 3 blade. I've been able to get a lot of different spare parts just by contacting them.
Same thing with Emek and Etha 3m. Mine Emek now updated to Etha 3m+
Paintball guns really haven't changed to much in 15 years. Im saying in the shot quality and how fast they can cycle and how reliable they are. Yeah some hit some miss but for the most part... Slightly more efficient... Slightly smoother shot. Not that a paintball gun has KICK like a real firearm anyways... You said it perfectly.. Dont think that buying a 2000 gun will make you play better then a 500 etha 3. I dont fool around with Junk. Back in the day EVERYONE bought new guns like every year because innovation... But things only get so good to the point where guns made 4 5 years ago are Still amazing... My geo 2.1 was one of the nicest guns ive ever shot... And I would bet it shoots just as nice as I would ever need to play rec ball. I sold it. But I have a couple of old egos sl94 jack frost and my trusty old 05 stocker that are always ready... They will mow faces all day. New guys are awesome and its mostly for show....
i have an older planet eclipse red and black ego from like maybe 12 yrs ago and it is way better than majority of the guns now thing shreds

Was gonna get either this or the 170R. Decided to be financially smart and picked up the ETHA 3 with a barrel kit
if you havent already bought it, its smarter to get the 170 for the same price by looking at local facebook groups reselling gear. almost all the gear and guns ive used over the years are second hand and for the price you cant beat it

Wud up Brad! Glad to see a new video. It’s been a long boring couple of months without a video from you. Quick question…is it worth it to buy the Etha3 if I already have an Etha2 and a EMEK? EMEK has the upgrades (POPS ASA, hAir valve, Infamous trigger, upgraded barrel etc. Etha2 has upgraded barrel also. Appreciate your input and thoughts. And keep the vids coming!
I think your Etha 2 with the hair valve is better then the Etha 3.
you can buy a etha 3 body kit and turn your 2 into a 3.
Thinking of getting a preowned dye dsr or an etha 3 what do you think? Awesome video.
Here are some guns that are a far better value:
Ego 08: $300-$400
Dye DM 9-15: $300-$600
Ego 09, 10 and 11: $400-$500
Dangerous Power G5 Spec R: $360
Hell, if you can find one, go for a Spyder VS2. You can get one of those for like $120 and buy all your gear for the same price as the Etha. Plus the VS2 has comparable performance. It can keep up with Egos.
Long story short, you don’t have to buy a plastic gun at $560 to have a good time. There are plenty of older high end markers that will turn circles around the Etha.
I’ve never heard anyone say those guns are a better value or comparable in performance.
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife LOVE your channel. I’ve been watching since you started. But I’m not fond of modern markers. Planet Eclipse have lost their touch in my opinion. People can get so much more value out of buying an older marker for a fraction of the cost of these “newer” markers. In reality, these companies are just recycling old systems and slapping a hefty price on it.

So this guy Brad used to work at a Predator Paintball location off of watt Ave...which was kinda like the go too shop cause that's what u used to do was go to your shop and buy paint. And the field back then was called paintball Sam's...dope ass huge rolling hills fields where like the real essence of paintball will always live and die (castles, gingerbread houses, Brad's mom would show up on Sunday for the twirly whirl..) and as you see him now yes it was a very wiery tweeker is he 6 foot 11 or 6 ft 3 I really can't tell? And Brad turned it all around and became they best content provider for paintball their is today...if you walked into predator paintball Brad would literally try to be they worst salesman you ever seen...Like this dude would make you want to make a purchase online from "lone wolf paintball" Brad turned out to be a good individual and a solid ambassador for why when u catch some peeking I got 2 on your visor. Interested to see your review on the LV2. I recently got one and I'm 6'5" with 77 tank. The back of the gun hits my mask.... at this point my etha3m is feeling comfier than the LV2.

Whats up ive been looking at your vids and other vids on a barrel kit for a empire mini gs but i still dont know what to choose.
So I’m a collector but I play with all my guns and I was trying keep all my guns and I’ve been looking at the etha 2 for a while and I like how you can put that body kit on it to make it look more realistic I would say. But moral of this story is brand new, is the etha 3 worth it when I currently own a mini gs, axe 2.0, shocker amp and luxe X all were brought new besides the luxe but I wouldn’t mind adding a Etha 3 to my collection. Also can I put that body kit on it like the etha 2 can?
What the difference between the etha 3 vs 180r trigger system?

Maintenance very easy and low. The 180r and Etha 3 are internally nearly the exact same gun I wouldn’t say one is more or less reliable.

I traded my 3M for a shocker RSX, worst decision I ever made. I ended up getting rid of the shocker for an electric Etha 3. The Etha and 3M are hand down my favorite markers to shoot, smooth as hell and easy to maintain.

Id probably say Eha3 mainly because you have more options. If you want to play tournament you can, where with the Etha3, you are stuck with mech.

What would be the benefits of getting electronic etha 3 or mechanical?
Mainly rate of fire, the electronic Etha 3 can have a higher BPS. The Etha 3 also have break beam eyes, that help reduce chopping.

my logic is if polymer is good enough for a glock its good enough for a paintball gun and Polymer is so much more robust and self healing. the high end guns aren't even using 7075 they are using 6061 a inferior metal.

I have a question. Does one have to set their regulator's output pressure to match their gun's preferred operational pressure? Like, For the Etha 3 output range is 250 to 550 psi, do I have to set my regulator between 250 to 550 psi? (Hope that explains that better.)
No it should work fine with a standard output regulator. Those pressures are optimal, there might be a very slight performance difference.

Its possible, but you have to swap the entire bottom half of the gun.

why don't paintballers use canted sights
Some do on magazine fed guns. paintball is mostly to fast to stop and aim with sights and paintballs aren’t really that accurate.
What should the output pressure on my tank be for best performance? I have an adjustable reg.
All modern electronic markers can basically handle all the tank pressures from an adjustable reg. For example, if you have a Ninja V2 Pro: zero shims is 450psi, 1 is 550psi, 2 is 700psi, and 3 shims is 800psi. Only SHP (super-high pressure) regs will not play nice with a typical marker (Autocockers, Tippmans, etc. need the higher pressure but it can damage other markers). Bob Longs and maybe MacDevs normally like the lowest pressure (450psi) or even a SLP reg (super-low pressure). Honestly, I've shot Planet Eclipse and Dye markers with an SLP and they work fine too. Best advice is, go with either 0 or 1 shim for around 450-500psi and it will be fine for pretty much every marker.

what makes you like this over the Amp?
Not to speak for him but it's typically personal preference in the ergonomics (they way it feels holding it, the length, etc.). No difference in shot quality and even the shot "sound" is perception....people that think one marker sounds quieter or the shot is "softer" and another marker is more "snappy" or has more "pop"-all of the mid-high end markers are so close it's pretty much a tie (or very little difference).
@vap9190 yep haha. Performance is nearly the same on so many guns, to me it’s almost all comes down to ergonomics and reliability. Ergonomics really all preference, there’s no question the Eclipse guns are the most reliable.
