Tyler, you should have asked him 'why Russian?' -! Certainly it has interesting linguistic properties and an excellent body of literature and music, and the culture is in the US not well-understood (and frequently misrepresented) even as it may have much to offer (not least simply to combat the use and impact of the misrepresentation) - both from its own Orthodox roots, as well as to remind those here (perhaps Catholics in particular) of what we've largely lost, but which lies ready to be regained. Regardless, excellent interview (as usual).
