It's a nice start for sure, but there is a lot of room for improvement with this new feature. Hopefully the missing features will be added sooner, rather than later, so that it won't be necessary to round-trip files through Acrobat to make use of a full set of review tools.

Word! Indeed there is IMHO actually no cloud solution to fully comment a pdf file. Neither MS Teams, Nextcloud …
So I was hoping for Adobe and I think it's a real shame for them, not to built the complete pdf comment tools!

This video was exactly what i was looking for today. Thanks for making it and doing such a concise comparison between the two options.

So with Adobe Review (In Id) do you need to create and share a new link with your client/s for every version of your project?

No, it´s just updating the content with the same link as before

Hi. I can see there seems to be an 'insert text at cursor' comment type on the document cloud review PDF that you've imported into indesign (share for review[ing]) where you add 'ing' to the end of review. How did you manage to do this on Adobe document cloud review? I can't see that markup tool on your video when you're using the cloud document review which you then bring into indesign. I'm trying to get the same functionality as 'add note to replace text / insert text at cursor' using one document for everyone to comment on, that I can then import back into indesign. Thanks!

Okay, that was a head-scratcher. You are absolutely correct - this functionality appears in the video at 7:35. I actually had to go back and scrub through the original captured footage to see what was going on, because I honestly would have thought that this capability is in the DC review service. Unfortunately that isn't the case. What seems to have happened was: the original screen recording included showing how the review/comment service worked from within the Acrobat DC desktop application, but this was cut presumably because the video was already a bit on the long side, and it seemed to be replicating the same functionality that was included in the web service anyway. But part of that recording - when the comment was brought back into InDesign at 7:35 - got left in, which shows the feature you're referring to. The ability to add text this way into a review document is unfortunately only available when accessing it via the desktop Acrobat application (possibly mobile as well; haven't checked). Even though any changes made this way will still appear in the cloud version just fine, and carry over to InDesign with the 'one click' ability to apply the changes, there doesn't appear to be any way to do the same markup from within the cloud service itself. Very sorry about any confusion. I hadn't noticed the discrepancy before.

While the functions of Acrobat DC are way better, it´s missing the abbilty to keep the comments (for the client). After executing the change wishes from the client, there are no more comments when exporting the (new) PDF for Acrobat. So it´s just 100% "one way" :/
