Oh yeah, you miss the one going up to Sandia Peak Mountain, there’s a gas station there. I remember their breakfast burrito had the flavor I missed from my great grandmother cooking.

Unfortunately, I eat at Garcia's on 4ht street very often. I am a member of the Albuquerque Fire Department Retirees Association Honor Guard, when we have a morning funeral we often gather at Garcia's for lunch. They cater to our group and take really good care of us.
You guys are doing this all wrong and unscientific as possible. There’s no control. You’re getting different ingredients on all of them from every place.
You are absolutely right, we are as unscientific as you can get. Our goal is to share what the food tastes like to the average person who walks in and places an order. Now Walter White .......... he did it all right and very scientific!
And no way NM Beef Jerky's Chicharone burrito is better than Taqueria Mexicana's. (I've tried them both.) Only thing with Taqueria Mexicana is that you should be glad you are close to the Heart Hospital, because there's no way food that good is good for your heart.
I will say though, I had not seen the burrito from Tia Betty Blues. That shit looked amazing. Going to give that a try ASAP. I like the one from NM Beef Jerky personally, smothered Xmas. You didn’t put Blakes on here so I respect you for that. 😊
Papa Franks is Hands down good. 💯 Only open Mon-Fri. And theyre potatoes are homemade and different than other burritos. Most of the places you went have the same Potatoes. Small and cubed. Lol
I agree! They were closed on the snow day we reviewed, and I am so glad we went back as they are an amazing couple and the food it great! Can't believe I have lived here my entire life and never knew that little house restaurant was there. I "thought" I knew Albuquerque as a firefighter working and eating all over the city for 20 years, but there are places that are amazing that most people have no idea exist.
There are two El Patio locations in ABQ and they were on my list but the existing reviews were mostly below 4.5 and so they just barely missed the cut. I have a rental house right by the Rio Grande location and I eat there occasionally, and it has always been good.
The Burrito Lady 938 Eubank Blvd. NE #1 Supreme Burrito is hands down the best breakfast burrito in town that nobody knows about. The way these guys cry about chile they wouldn’t be able to handle it.
Not me, I like it hot! They were actually on our list to review but when we got there, they were closed. Discovered they close at 2pm, also closed for the month of July and are closed on Tuesday's, according to someone's comment on Facebook. I will try to get over there and check it out. I'm so happy that Twisters and Blakes arn't even considered any longer because of how much they have fallen in quality. However it sucks not seeing the Burrito Lady or Garcia's on the list.
Thanks for sharing Laura. Yes, Larry has always made good tortillas ...... well... for being machine made. I do prefer them to be hand rolled, thicker and cooked on a cast iron skillet.

I used to like Golden Pride but their eggs are awful now so I don’t eat there anymore. My favorite is The Burrito Lady on Eubank and Lomas. My favorite is the number 6, it’s a pork chop breakfast burrito and it’s delicious. Go try it tomorrow and let me know what you think.
25 years ago Burritos Alistante had the best breakfast burrito in NM. Then they got greedy, reduced portions MASSIVELY and went with cheaper ingredients. They don't even taste good anymore. Biggest decline in food quantity and quality I've seen in my life. I won't go there if they gave it tome for free.

Texas, nope. Born at Lovelace on Gibson and raised at Atrisco and Central. We went to Perico's often on the fire engine and normally it was fantastic. On the day of the review, maybe it was just a bad day for them or maybe their regular cook didn't come in due to the snow. We stopped the videos for this exact reason. Perico's is really good but so are the others. This Fall we are starting back up only showing the "best" and not ranking them as every restaurant can have an off day and that should not be what they are known for. Great comment except for the Texan accusation! LOL
Barelas Coffee House is one of my go-to sit downs. Starting this Fall, we are revamping the reviews to be more about local and history. This place will definitely be in the new review style along with the Monte Carlo and such.
Robert, the locations in Los Lunas and Bosque Farms have always been expensive but tasted great. This burrito we got at the Broadway location was not good and I will not be back. Thanks for your input!
Yeah, you are right. We had 7 people doing the review that day and since it snowed a whole 3 inches, 4 other people did not show up. So, it was my two Gringo kids and my Gringo self left to do the video.

But every now and then I find a home cooked meal, like the smothered Christmas style burrito at Tia Betty Blues. I do not think I could make one that good. You definitely lost me when you put Golden Pride at number 7. Maybe it was the bacon? I really do love bacon but sausage is king in breakfast burritos IMHO. Get the number 11. Same burrito but with sausage. YUM! And don't even get me started on smothered vs regular breakfast burritos. That's a whole nother animal. OMG. I need to shut up. Lol. I am way too passionate about breakfast burritos. They are one of my favorite foods ever.

Larry did things right and it paid off. The Frontier has been the most successful long standing restaurant and Golden Pride is not far behind.
Stripes and Golden Pride are my favorite.

Yep, they are different that way, but I like both. Mexican often has lots of fresh vegetables and herbs that I find refreshing.

I agree. For on-the-go burrito, Blakes is okay but if you want a X-Mas smothered burrito, you got to go to the mom and pop places.
