- EXCALIBUR ARMY 155 mm self-propelled gun-howitzer DITA preview of basic innovations and capabilities.
The DITA self-propelled gun-howitzer vehicle is a new modern artillery weapon using a NATO 155 mm standard ammunition. It derives from the original Czechoslovak concept of Tatra truck-mounted howitzers, but it takes the autonomy of operation to the next level. DITA offers an unprecended rate of fire with only 2 members of the crew required - the driver and the commander. It features a modern Onboard Control System with high speed in taking up and leaving the firing position, great accuracy and excellent hard terrain crossability.
The concept utilizes a fully autonomous superstructure so it is possible for the weapon to be mounted on a tracked chassis, too.

Premium vehicle perhaps, but I think an absurd amount of silver lions should be enough for the ammo
I don't think it has good gun depression, but with that rate of fire the stun damage is probably going to be nerfed

@@gimbueuropa5904 it says they use a NATO standard 155mm cannon so ammo might not be the issue. i'd be more inclined the believe that the local authorities said no to any live fire since the company is czech and those europeans don't like weapons being fired outside of military drills and ranges. it could just be that they didn't have any 155s on hand though
because the barrel would blow apart like a 3d printed gun, the barrel and firing system alone are 4,000kg; the turret is extra, then there's the vehicle.

Looks very impressive. I was in the US Army in the 1980's, mechanized infantry division. The Army still fields the latest version of the M109 155mm self propelled gun. You should approach the Pentagon and make this vehicle a quick reaction, highly mobile supplement to any artillery battery. Ten C-17's could airlift one each Excalibur to any hotspot, along w the wheeled version of MLRS. Your EXCALIBUR looks to be as good as anything the Pentagon can field.

Классическая гусеничная гаубица похоже ушла в прошлое, за исключением большего калибра и дальности. Гусенечная техника больше оборонительная, когда колесная это и оборонительная и наступательная мобильная гаубица. Это будущее сухопутной артиллерии! Жаль что не мы ее сделали! Блестящая конструкторская работа!
В зависимости от грунтов преимущества колесной техники нивелируются, особенно по пересеченной местности. Так что тут бабка надвое сказала.

@@user-ox5ny2ye2m Колісна формула 8х8 це 4-х вісне повнопривідне шасі. 8х8 означає, що всі 8 колес привідні (це міжнародна класифікація - зліва-справа рахується 1 колесо). Наприклад: 4х2 - означає дві осі, одна задня привідна, 4х4 означає - 2 осі, 2 привідні.

the heart of DITA, the main guns assembly, is coming from Slovakia (ZTS Special). Many things are +/- SpH Zuzana.
honestly speaking the DITA design looks fantastic (not having any idea how it shoots. It has taken 20 years to from Zuzana 2000 to Zuzana 2).
I suppose it will take years to get the DITA design proven.

I suspect that drone is turning, because the vehicle is not. This thing has it's center of mass so high that throughout the whole video there isn't a single shot of shoving it make a turn (and how much it leans when it does). So the drone is weaving to make it more "dynamic".

Without tracks it is useless
It had a number of advantages over tracked vehicles specially in cost, maintenance, and reliability although tracked vehicles are more superior when it comes to mobility in almost any terrain but it is already transitioning to composite rubber tracks.
@@FrancisJoa Fast-wheeled artillery is certainly not useless. Especially when it's built on TATRA chassis
@@BloPsy__ Mobility is key in a real war. And wheeled vehicules are limited. In a real war against Russia for example in the Russian terrain these things are useless because they can´t move there. WW2 battles proved that more than enough.

Seriously - have you ever seen the capabilities of TATRA for example?
This is not a front-line fighting vehicle, where having tracks is necessary to keep with the changing terrain. Sure, tracked artillery is still superior in terms of going through all kinds of terrain, but is also more complex, more expensive, and not as fast on road.
The modern militaries need such fast wheeled vehicles like this DITA - Even Russians with their "Russian terrain" as you said, use a whole array of wheeled vehicles. And even Russia wants such artillery - look up 2S43 Malva.

Not really, the first adopted wheeled SPG already had that appearance. The fun fact is, that it was the predecessor of this DITA SPG - the Czechoslovak vz. 77 DANA.

Potom co nyní píší ohledně konkurence Nexter, že chtějí namísto původních 6 miliard už 8,1 mi přijde jako totalní svin.... Nevím kolik by stál kontrakt DITY a jak smlouvy fungují, ale pokud vím tak navýšen u předjednaného kontraktu bez vyběrového řízení je 10% maximum. Pokud by vyšla po zkouškách levněji,tak bych se na frantíky pěkně vykašlal! A to nemluvím o izraelcích co chtějí namísto 10 už 15 miliard za raketový system. To bych jim ukázal, že sou jedničky.

Chtěl jsem, abyste pro tento nový tank použili podvozek a motor Tatra. Stejně jako AVIBRAS na raketometech ASTOS 2020 MK6.
Ale myslím, že se rozhodnou pro 8x8 Centauro II od Iveco. Protože to bylo Iveco, kdo vyhrál nabídku na výrobu našich 6x6 Guarani (které byly vyvinuty naší vlastní armádou)!

@@lukasbenes7167 Napadá mne: cena, zavedení jinde (ceasar už prostě není jen prototyp), možnost využít zvláštní střelivo (např s naváděním) certifikovaná a zavedená, relativní jednoduchost, šplhneme si u Frantíků. A 52 rážová hlaveň, DITA má kratší dostřel.
@@lukasbenes7167Houfnice Dita má automatické nabíjeni, má v zásobníku víc nábojů, o 2 členy posádky míň než u Caesara, větší ochranu posádky, delší dojezd, 2 x větší odměr natočení hlavně. Dostřel má Dita 39 km, Caesar 42, což není velký rozdíl. Se střelami s dálkovým naváděním se u Dity také počítá. Předchůdkyně houfnice Dity byla používána v bojích na Kavkaze a osvědčila se tam.

Je to okopčená Zuzana 2000(vy viete že môže DITA používať špec.muníciu napr.od Nexteru?) bolo by fajn vedieť či majú licenciu od Koštrukty? Iba sa pýtam bo ma to zaujíma.
@@martinbielik3572 NO moment, Dita je okopčená Zuzana? A Zuzana není náhodou okopčená Dana? Dita je o hodně dál především proto, že má střelecký počítač v obrněné kabině vozidla a v doplňování zásobníků.

@@micaheiber1419 , my understanding is that High Explosive Anti Tank is a name for a conical shaped charge that is meant to penetrate armor, while shaped charge is the general principle and also includes e.g. wedge-shaped shaped charges for cutting steel beams and the like.
