@LegoRacer41 Porsche had to extend the front of the car to comply with the new IMSA GTP rules, which basically stated the drivers feet had to be behind the center line of the front wheels. Many belive it was IMSA's attempt to discourage Porsche from competing in the GTP series because of their clear dominance. Clearly they under estimated Porsches determination.
OK James Weaver et al are lying 2nd overall w Palmer at wheel 4:00; IMO Weaver is the best driver & interview combination BRDC ever has had (mystery to me how he lost the Speed 8 ride that time)
actually at mulssane was faster the porsche. in 1988 no 2 jag and the no 17 works porsche were equally fast in 1989 the top speeds at mulssane during the race were the jags

He wasn’t that quick.
Excellent race coverage. Boy, do I miss the pre-chicane Le Mans.
Hey Bud I had a Fireblade 954 Awesome used to shake its head a lot. I was also at this race.
hi Alan had it 11 years blue and white one
I think the Silkcut Jaguar XJR8 has the top speed but the Rothmans Porsche 962 has better cornering speed.

4:36 GOD DAMN! Look at the road-holding on that thing!
Any reason to why there are only prototypes in this Le Mans?
@makmov do the 956's use the same engine as the 962's as well?
what us the diffrence between a 962C and 956?
962 had a longer chassis to put the driver’s feet behind the line of the front axle.
Why are they only focusing on the lmp1s
