This is a rare VHS copy of an iconic Australian film of a terrible aviation tragedy that occurred in 1937. This production was only aired once on TV by Network Ten. You cannot get an official copy of this movie from anywhere... trust me, I tried. In 2010, upon digging deeper on some online forum, I came across someone that had recorded it on their VHS recorder back in the day - they were happy to send me a copy for $5. More recently, I noticed someone else uploaded this movie some years back, however I believe this copy is a tad bit better quality (like two resolution grains better) and therefore I uploaded this version.
If you are planning to do the Stinson Hike at Lamington National Park, I recommend you to watch this movie beforehand as you will appreciate the very challenging terrain that the rescuers of the plane wreck survivors and Bernard O'Reilly had to endure. The hike will be so much more meaningful if you know the story.
Hike to Stinson Crash Site via Christmas Creek: • Stinson's Plane Wreck ...
Hike to Larapinta Falls via Christmas Creek: • Larapinta Falls, Chris...

I have not come to a conclusion but I did experience what it is like to hold to a belief not common amongst Christians. If a correction in the doctrine is to be made it is not earth-shattering to make a change living here in America. Elsewhere, even the baptism of the believer is very difficult to practice.

One hell of a doctor too. Compare with British GPs who only work 9-5 on weekdays (4 on Friday because they are 'family oriented') and don't do home visits. My GP wouldn't treat a leg like this (he has a tendency to faint when he sees blood) however he visits terminally ill patients at least once day, for palliative care, and whey they die, he's the one the family call. He then sits with them until the undertakers come to take the body. He has wonderful humanity, he's just not good with blood!

Thanks for putting up this wonderful film.
Request: There was a gorgeous little American indie film that had no publicity and sank without a trace in the early 90's. However it won the "People's choice" award at some film festival. (Sundance? can't recall) . It was called, unfortunately, "Valhalla" (many other things were called that). It's about three estranged brothers in Hollywood whose dying, widowed father loves the music of Wagner, and now is unable to fulfill his lifelong ambition to travel to Beirut to see the complete Ring Cycle.
So the sons, with access to a Hollywood prop warehouse, decide to put on the Ring Cycle in their living room; they cast their "production" with lip-syncing surfers and motorcyclists. The production eventually seems to have "a cast of thousands" It starts as a comedy but develops organically into a magnificent statement about the power of music to heal & transform lives. Can you find and put this little lost masterpiece on RUclips? I promise you will love it.

Wow. What a story! I'm exhausted from just watching. It pays tribute to, and reminds us of a day and age when people were kind and concerned with the well being of others; which is nothing like the myopic, festering greed that defines us today. Too bad we have lost the better part of our humanity.. Great movie. Thanks for sharing.

I believe you are correct. Europe has fallen to a pervasive migrating parasite that has captured government. The parasite invades & cripples the mind. Europeans still don't know what is happening to them. Once Europe is totally dominated, her colonies will also follow suit as the parasite has it's tentacles wrapped around all finance, all media channels & nearly all corrupt politicians. Health services & basic necessities of life are eroding away right now & most people are not noticing.

Yes, this movie is a very well made tribute to those who follow their instincts. O'Reilly was a reluctant hero who definitely saved the lives of 2 certain fatalities had it not been for him. The attention to detail in the production is absolutely superb. Everything presented exactly as one would expect in 1937. Even Archerfield Aerodrome appeared as one would imagine it should. I am blown away at the lengths they went to to do justice for this amazing historic set of events.
Beware, I believe Sassduffin is correct. A plague of brainwashing creatures has all but taken posession of all of Europe. My research indicates Europe will be plunged into a hideous & gruelling World War 111 which will see the end of genuine Europeans & their customs & traditions. If they do not take immediate & drastic measures soon, Europe will be lost to Europeans. Europeans will be displaced by another race of migrating parasites. The US Constitution is crumbling now & it will also be lost if people do not recognise what it is that rots their nation from within. Time is running out.

Not much was left of it as bits were taken by others who no doubt wished to boast about their steep treck to find what was left of the wreck. We also visited Westray's Grave. I walked / climbed / crawled up to the Stinson Wreck some 25 to 30 years ago. It was tough going (the film depicts it well; looks like it was filmed on location) but worth the effort both for the history, wreck (not much left even then) and the wonderful sub-tropical bushland. Only thing that spoilt it was that others had made that hard trek to enjoy the beauty and the serenity and then left their @#$%^&* rubbish behind. Some people....

100% agree with you. That's what I was inspired by, and it especially comes alive when you actually hike the trail to the plane Wreck. Thanks for your comment! 👍👍

This is quite a film and a wonderful story. Well worth a look-see. A real-life adventure movie. Beautifully done too. I've never been to Australia but I see these blokes a quite marvelous people.

'All right, fellows, that's where the track starts. - That's a track? Glad you tell us'.
My father was a POW in the Pacific during WW2. He really liked the Aussies, he considered moving to Australia after WW2, and he did a couple of road trips there, hiring a car, and crossing the country from one shore to the other.

I have yet to watch an Australian film that isn't compelling, sincere, beautifully acted and wonderful to watch. Now that Hollywood has gone ridiculously woke and is simply producing films and franchises that are badly rehashed versions of the originals, please, Australian film makers, grab this opportunity to bring us more of your excellent, grounded and highly watchable films. Thank You, wonderful movie, from Riceton, sask. Canada can't tell why so many people disliked this great film. Hero's, like Tim O'Reilly said there are no hero's only great men, we are all hero's in our own ways. Great acting, great directing, and of course a true story.

It is astonishing just how hard it is to locate plan wreckage in a forest. I grew up in a forested mountain country. I fought forest fires .I drew maps of job sites for the forest service . I built trails in the forest. I am a pilot, skilled nagavator. I have spotted wreckage from a plan, yet it still took time to find the exact spot on the ground. Oh, I almost forgot. Did Arial photography for an insurance company on one occasion. I have the ability to look at an arial photography and see 3d image without any viewing equipment. Unless you have looked at those pictures, you can't imagine how few people can do that. Wreckage under the canopy is nearly invisible. Smoke during the day and fire light at night is your best clue. Sometimes Smoke will stay close to the ground for some distance before rising above the trees.

What an amazing story. We have lost something of our community caring spirit now, in so many places. Back then it was more a matter of course that you looked after your fellow man. a life lesson to be learned. Thank you so much for the upload.

I like this style of Australian acting and film making: understated and natural. And the only 'language' in it is 'ba...rd'! Which of course is a compliment Downunder. I loved the references to Bradman and the Ashes series of '36-'37 and everyone's common intense interest in it. I hope both survivors were able to lead happy, fulfilling lives.
    Thank you, Jelbuilder!
