He lost his parents, his most trusted person, her sister, had to build up the sect again,lead the sect and take care of Jin LIng while looking out for him. You notice that during the whole process, he had none by his side. He was all alone. He is one of the strongest characters in the story. I really like how the video ended with Jin Ling. Cause he is the only one left by Jiang Cheng's side.

It really is quite sad, mostly because we don't get to see how characters like jc and wwx or lxc get closure. It's just left in the air up to imagination. And don't get me wrong I think it is very realistic and that's what make their characters seem real but mate, do I cry over them

Jiang Cheng was DEFINITELY compared with Wei Ying a lot, because since child hood, Wei Ying has become a prodigy especially in cultivation and the story revolves in him and him (I'm not saying that's bad) while Jiang Cheng and the other characters? Yeah... I feel like they really had the potential to have more screen time and value. Anyways, Thank you for making this! Sending love ❤️.
I mean wwx didnt get a happy ending for nothing though. He reached out, hes always the one to reach out but jiang cheng was always the one to pull away. The only time jiang cheng reached out was to make wwx leave the wens (which is a big no) i feel bad for wanyin but just like jin a- yao said, if only he showed the cultivation world nothing can break his bond with his brother then none of the tragedies would have happened. I cant really blame wanyin alone because he only inherit those traits from the way he grew up (toxic parents and all) i mean seriously what kind of person adopts a kid and raise them to be a shield for his own children?

Wwx was the head disciple and he wasn't following the Sect leader's command, he wasn't attending to his duties and Jiang Cheng tried to ask him what was wrong, he did reach out. It was Wwx that didn't tell Jiang Cheng anything. If anything, wwx was a bigger reason as jgy stated wwx's personality was also a problem, he offended a lot of people. I also believe if wwx did tell Jiang Cheng what happened, things would have changed. He even tried to beg the other sect leaders that wwx wasn't bad. Think about it, Jiang Cheng's sect was destroyed, he didn't have the man power, political power or the resources that the other great sects had. He was rebuilding the sect. AND he was so young. The other sects were already looking down on him, especially since wwx clearly wasn't listening to him. ALSO, if you were Jiang Cheng, would you risk all the people in your sect for strangers and not just any strangers, strangers that had ties to the same group of people that killed your family, your sect, destroyed your home, and tortured you? Now, you can argue that the wens were innocent but they also did stand by allowing their sect leaders to kill and destroy other people. The wens also sat by for their own safety (and again Wen Ning only saved Jiang Cheng because of wwx not because it was the right thing to do) so is it fair to ask for Jiang Cheng to sacrifice not only his safety but that of his sect? Moreover, Jiang Cheng is the sect leader, he has responsibilities to his people. We know that Jiang Cheng was willing to sacrifice his own life for wwx, and I believe if he didn't have his people to worry about, he would do the same too. Why don't we ask why Lan zhan didn't ask his brother to put the Lan sect on the line to protect wwx? Lan Xichen was in a much better position to protect wwx, he is the leader of the Lan sect, and sworn brothers with NMJ and JGY. I don't think it's fair that we put so much blame on Jiang Cheng. Honestly, out of all the characters, I think he is the one with the least blame for the tragedy and the one that suffered the most.

Jiang cheng is such a tragic character. He always knew his father favoured wwx over him. No matter how much he tried wwx was a born genius and he just wasn't.... then his sect burnt down. That scene of madam yu and jiang fengmian was ughhh and when jc saw the pile of corpses of jiang deciples and couldn't do anything. His entire sect, family, home, brother everyone he lost that night. I believe his anger towards wwx after that night was justified. His only reason for living was to avenge his sect and kill the wens. HE wanted to kill the wens. But he STILL sacrificed himself so wwx wouldn't be caught by the wen soldiers he let himself be caught despite knowinghe would be killed and would never get to avenge his parents. FOR WWX. the man who technically was responsible for the wens showing up to lotus pier that night. Now it gets a lil more difficult because he didnot support wwx when he "sided with the wens", even the good once who saved jc. Now, jc didmadmit that he was greatful but the jiang sect was newly rebuilt at the time and the other sects sure wouldn't be that understanding right? Jins are bastards , lans are too rigid with their black and white sense of righteousness and the neis... well nei mingjue :/ so obviously no major sect wkuld side with jiangs had jc tried to protect the remaining wens. He knew what he was doing was wrong but he chose his duties as a sect leader over the wens, which is understandable if u ask me. And omg when wwx left the jiangs 😩 he was still thinking about wwx's safety even though his actions were reflected poorly on 5he jiang sect. Then yanli died and wwx was killed by "jc" (which we know isn't true). He did his best to raise jin ling and rebuild his sect. He did a fantastic job on both btw. Wwx returns and says that to jin ling (although unknowingly). Ofc jc would be mad. The end is what breaks me the most. His golden core wasn't his. It was wwx's. He knows that now and has to bear the burden of knowing what wwx went through because of the sacrifice he did for jiang cheng. But wwx doesn't find out that he would have never had to sacrifice his golden core for jc, if jiang cheng had first sacrified himself FOR WWX. It's so unfair. Wwx got a somewhat blissful happy ending with hgj and not knowing what jc did for him, while jc doesn't just know the truth about his golden core but is also expected to be greatful to wwx. I hate how misunderstood his character is, how much ppl hate him. Don't get me wrong I love wwx and he's had his own troubles but jc willalways be the best character ever.

I really kin Jiang Cheng I have always been the average one, the second option, the selfish one, the strict one, the bad-tempered one, it really hurts, to be honest being the second option, especially the person I trust the most is the one im being compared to and I just try to hold my emotions back.

The jiang kids (along with wwx) definitely deserved better. I dont believe wei wuxian was a "favorite" by jiang chengs father, he made it clear he only picked up wwx to use him as a shield for his children while also using him to bring glory to the sect. The jiangs were bound to fall even if wwx wasnt adopted since it was a loveless marriage (in their perspective, their pride and ego refuse to admit they like each other) in jiang chengs perspective, wwx got it all but in reality he was just a puppet to the jiangs. Its sad to realize that the trio couldve been all together if only yanli and wanyin spoke up for their family, they dont realize it yet but they sorta inherit the toxic traits of their parents.. wanyins jealousy clouded his vision like his mother and yanli's silence just like her father doesnt help, she just expected things to fix itself. Honestly i think wwx got the happy ending because he tried, he reached out and asked for help but they didnt meet him half way. Just like jin a- yao said, if jiang cheng had only supported his brother and showed the world nothing could break their family apart then theres nothing the sects couldve done about it. Its sad to say but jiang chengs happiness lies in his family and he focused on glory instead of family, you reap what you sow.
Thank you, finally someone acknowledges this. I agree 100%. I see so many people refuse to hold Jiang Cheng accountable, and give Wei Ying so much crap. Wei Ying reached out and asked jiang Cheng for help (even showing him the innocent wens in the burial mounds). But, Jiang Cheng refused to help, and told him he wouldn’t be able to protect him if he insisted on protecting the innocent wen’s. Jiang Cheng turned his back first, but made up the bs that Wei ying abandoned him. He literally told Wei ying, he’d never back him up. Jiang Cheng, got what he asked for. All people feel when they see him is fear. His own nephew (Jin Ling), has a better relationship with Wei Ying, then he does with him (Jiang Cheng). This because, Jiang Cheng was as abusive and cold raising him, as his own mother was. Jiang Cheng made all the bad choices, but he can’t admit how badly he messed up. He deserved to end up alone, for his arrogance, inhumane actions, and selfish attitude.
