Hi Liz, Your refit is amazing and I just started doing mine 3 days ago. I love your wood laminate, what is it called? I am just about to buy the wood to put in the new floors and cabinets. Thanks!
Hi There, Just discovered your RUclips channel and I have been watching the Refit videos at one go over the weekend. Very well done, much better then many of the sailing couples i see on youtube, and above all very informative. You gave me a lot of ideas on how to tackle the different boat systems. The LED strip lights are just great and I haven't seen them in the newer boats yet. However, I am not so sure about the swim platform on the waterline, will it not create drag? Is the mounting strong enough to hold two people jumping of for a dive? Regret to see that your engine has seized and a bit of a shame, given that you went through such a thorough refit of your boat systems. Hope you will find an engine very soon, If you are still doubting, I strongly recommend to buy a new one after all the hours of work. It can only be an added value to your boat.I start seeing s/y with an electrical motor. For an engineering couple like yourselves, it should be a feasible conversion. I am living in Phnom Penh, so let me know if you come close to Cambodia with your s/y. The islands in front of Sihanoukville are unique. Cheers
Hi +Marc Derveeuw, thanks for the kind message. We appreciate the feedback. Yes, the swim platform is a little low for my liking. It was difficult to tell exactly where it would end up when fitting out the water but despite its position it doesn't appear to create any drag. It's absolutely rock solid and could easily hold two people. Glad you recommend a new engine - it's the way we're heading with our thoughts on the subject. Stay tuned and subscribe to our channel for more engine updates soon. Fair winds!
Not to get too technical but what metal did you use for your swim platform - 304 or 316 or something else? Thank you in advance for the boat yard videos.
"Pay a bit extra to ensure to jobs done properly", what's the hourly rate on those craftsman ? You would have payed an absolute fortune if you'd had it done to that quality of materials, craftsmanship/trades, hourly rates +VAT on all that in Europe or the US mate let's not kid ourselves here hahaha 😂bloody comedian ! Still, good on ya 👍😆.
Those tradesman are as good as if not better than any i have seen here in Aus. cheers.
Fascinating, but please tell me you've sorted the creaky flooring!

316. You need the good stuff if it's going to be underwater so often! Liz
