I just finished watching Hotarubi no mori e, and god, I'm an emotional wreck right now. The ending left me absolutely speechless, like after all this time, ALL THESE YEARS, she lost Gin just because he touched a damn human kid to prevent him from falling. But at least he got his wish to be touched by a human, and he got to touch the woman he had fallen in love with. I hope he's in a better place now.

So ik the probability is high that nobody's going to read this, but anyways. I'm just getting out of an depression I've had for.... many years. Since I was about 14 or so... I'm 18 now. It really made my puberty years difficult. I was often on the verge of suicide. But two to three months back something clicked in my head. I don't know how I should explain it, but since then I've been feeling much better. Slowly, day by day, week by week, it was getting better, I felt better. Like, *happy*. I'm happy. With... living. It's extremely difficult to put it into words, but it's like, I didn't know you could feel *so good* all the time. And I've been enjoying every single second of it. I feel normal. It's so fucking weird. And in these past few months, I really feel like I'm "reclaiming my crown". To be me. To have fun. To be young and explore, idk. I just feel alive. I know this sounds weird, but there's been so few moments in the past few years where I've been genuinely happy and often just felt tired, sad and hopeless. And I'm asking myself: Do "normal" people always feel like this? Do they always feel so *comfortable* in their own skin? Must be a good life. So what I wanted to say was that this song helped me immensely in my depression. And today I've listened to it again, and sang along the song from the top of my lungs and I sobbed. While singing. Like, so much. I feel like I put all my unhealthy and bad thoughts to bed. I've reclaimed my crown. I feel free. Thank you. Thank you so much.

I’m not anymore. I fought my own battle and I won. But if you can’t do it on your own, then do it with someone else. I believe in you. If nobody else said they loved you today, then remember, I DO. I always will. You can do this, I believe in you and I have so much faith in you, my love for you is high, idc if I don’t know you, you’re all my brothers and sisters. I promise you, things will get better within time, but in order to do that, you have to find a way to escape from the thing that’s holding you back, the past is the past, if you carry it with you, you’ll never escape. You need to focus on the present and future. This song is everything I want to tell my best friend. He doesn’t see anything but his flaws, when he’s one of the greatest person I’ve ever met. He has so much pressure on him, and he believes that the world would be better with out him. That’s not true at all, he changed my life for the better and has brought so much joy around him. He's currently 16 fighting addiction to weed and alcohol, and all he sees is everything he's messed up, not what he's made better. i was diagnosed with depression when i was nine due to my step mom and dad fighting. being put on pills that young, i wasn't worried about it. i quit taking them because i was a little better and my mom didnt want me to be addicted about a year ago. its safe to say im fourteen and dont think about killing myself as much as i used to. i saw this song while looking at the "up next" songs, and i cried a little while hearing it because i got flashbacks. i really hope i can be fully okay soon. im trying my best!

Getting addicted to antidepressants isn't a thing that needs worrying about. I'm assuming you were on an SSRI because of your age, like me, which works by increasing the amount of serotonin produced and make certain it stays around long enough to get used. Most addictive substances work with dopamine, not Serotonin. SSRIs can't be quit cold turkey, but there isn't a real risk for addiction. I know that at this time your mom is calling the shots, (and a random person on RUclips with an anime character as the profile picture is not nessicarially the most trustworthy) but it's something to consider.

Imagine a man sitting in a dark room, his window pelted with relentless droplets of rain. In this man's hand he held a bottle of cheap liquor and next to him on the shelf sat a picture of his daughter and an urn with her ashes. Now imagine further. The man raised his bottle to take another sloppy drink of his booze, but just before the cold glass of the bottle could come in contact with his chapped lips he paused, turned his head, and slowly lowered the bottle. The man's eyes widened in unbelievable shock as he shot up out of his chair. A barely teenaged girl stood before him, a faint sparkly glow emitted from her. With a soft kind smile she placed her hand over his which was holding his liquor. She continued to smile as she shook her head then looked directly back at him. As if to tell him this wasn't how he should spend his days now. Without a seconds hesitation the man dropped the bottle of liquor and pulled the girl into a tight embrace. His tears couldn't and wouldn't stop. She hugged him back then jestured over to another room next door to what could be assumed to have been hers. Due to the decal on the door it seems to be a younger girls door, her little sister. With one last smile the girl faded her only parting words, "You can be king, again."

I struggle with my mental health and this song helped me start my recovery many years ago. Now I'm a year clean from bad habits I had, and this song came on my recommended list. Every day is still a challenge, and some are hard, but I manage so much better than I did all those years ago. I can truly thank forest of fireflies for introducing me to this song, and an old friend of mine who used to play it for me on the piano. This song will always be remembered.

Needed this. Been going through some shit. Not depression or anything, but some really bad anxiety the past 4 or so months. So bad it landed me in the hospital, out patient treatment, and now in therapy. Things do get better, and everyone out there suffering, with anything, just know that tomorrow is a new day, and you never know what it will hold for you. I just finished watching Hotarubi no mori e, and god, I'm an emotional wreck right now. The ending left me absolutely speechless, like after all this time, ALL THESE YEARS, she lost Gin just because he touched a damn human kid to prevent him from falling. But at least he got his wish to be touched by a human, and he got to touch the woman he had fallen in love with. I hope he's in a better place now.

So ik the probability is high that nobody's going to read this, but anyways. I'm just getting out of an depression I've had for.... many years. Since I was about 14 or so... I'm 18 now. It really made my puberty years difficult. I was often on the verge of suicide. But two to three months back something clicked in my head. I don't know how I should explain it, but since then I've been feeling much better. Slowly, day by day, week by week, it was getting better, I felt better. Like, *happy*. I'm happy. With... living. It's extremely difficult to put it into words, but it's like, I didn't know you could feel *so good* all the time. And I've been enjoying every single second of it. I feel normal. It's so fucking weird. And in these past few months, I really feel like I'm "reclaiming my crown". To be me. To have fun. To be young and explore, idk. I just feel alive. I know this sounds weird, but there's been so few moments in the past few years where I've been genuinely happy and often just felt tired, sad and hopeless. And I'm asking myself: Do "normal" people always feel like this? Do they always feel so *comfortable* in their own skin? Must be a good life.
So what I wanted to say was that this song helped me immensely in my depression. And today I've listened to it again, and sang along the song from the top of my lungs and I sobbed. While singing. Like, so much. I feel like I put all my unhealthy and bad thoughts to bed. I've reclaimed my crown. I feel free.

I promise you, things will get better within time, but in order to do that, you have to find a way to escape from the thing that’s holding you back, the past is the past, if you carry it with you, you’ll never escape. You need to focus on the present and future. There has been a news story on it and there's a tweet about it on Twitter. He died saving his girlfriend. He saved his whole family in a way. He saved me from thinking negative thoughts. i was diagnosed with depression when i was nine due to my step mom and dad fighting. being put on pills that young, i wasn't worried about it. i quit taking them because i was a little better and my mom didnt want me to be addicted about a year ago. its safe to say im fourteen and dont think about killing myself as much as i used to. i saw this song while looking at the "up next" songs, and i cried a little while hearing it because i got flashbacks. i really hope i can be fully okay soon. im trying my best!

Getting addicted to antidepressants isn't a thing that needs worrying about. I'm assuming you were on an SSRI because of your age, like me, which works by increasing the amount of serotonin produced and make certain it stays around long enough to get used. Most addictive substances work with dopamine, not Serotonin. SSRIs can't be quit cold turkey, but there isn't a real risk for addiction. I know that at this time your mom is calling the shots, (and a random person on RUclips with an anime character as the profile picture is not nessicarially the most trustworthy) but it's something to consider.

Imagine a man sitting in a dark room, his window pelted with relentless droplets of rain. In this man's hand he held a bottle of cheap liquor and next to him on the shelf sat a picture of his daughter and an urn with her ashes.
Now imagine further. The man raised his bottle to take another sloppy drink of his booze, but just before the cold glass of the bottle could come in contact with his chapped lips he paused, turned his head, and slowly lowered the bottle. The man's eyes widened in unbelievable shock as he shot up out of his chair. A barely teenaged girl stood before him, a faint sparkly glow emitted from her. With a soft kind smile she placed her hand over his which was holding his liquor. She continued to smile as she shook her head then looked directly back at him. Without a seconds hesitation the man dropped the bottle of liquor and pulled the girl into a tight embrace. His tears couldn't and wouldn't stop. She hugged him back then jestured over to another room next door to what could be assumed to have been hers. Due to the decal on the door it seems to be a younger girls door, her little sister. I struggle with my mental health and this song helped me start my recovery many years ago. Now I'm a year clean from bad habits I had, and this song came on my recommended list. Every day is still a challenge, and some are hard, but I manage so much better than I did all those years ago. I can truly thank forest of fireflies for introducing me to this song, and an old friend of mine who used to play it for me on the piano. This song will always be remembered.

Needed this. Been going through some shit. Not depression or anything, but some really bad anxiety the past 4 or so months.
So bad it landed me in the hospital, out patient treatment, and now in therapy.
Things do get better, and everyone out there suffering, with anything, just know that tomorrow is a new day, and you never know what it will hold for you.
