The meaning of this song is so deep. I love the ending where he's reassuring the girl that she has someone to rely on if things ever get too hard, that's beautiful
True, one of the main things I love about Alec's songs is that they always tell a story, which has a beginning, a middle and an ending! It's beautiful!
I like the line "we can talk about the noise when you're ready" We don't force people to talk about their traumas. They tell us when they are ready. 👏👏👏
@@Rsloak Oh no...I'm sorry, hun. You didn't tell the right kind of person. Some day, when you get the chance, tell someone you know would believe and trust you. You'll get through this. I believe in you.
"We can talk about the noise when you're ready, but till then I'll say "it must've been the wind"" That's so perfect. The representation of time so she knows shes not rushed. Wow. Alec is a genius
Woah I always misheard that line! I thought it said, “We can talk about the noise when you’re pretty, but too thin.” Because of that, I interpreted this song being about insecurities, poor self image, and seeking help. It’s weird how much sense both of these lyrics mean!
@@Dark-le3bn Well, ''I have to go back in'' is basically the girl returning to, presumably, her boyfriend who abuses her, though she can't say that because she doesn't want him to get in trouble or for him to hurt her more, so instead, she just settles for saying ''I have to go back in''.
"promise I'm not playing tricks on you, your always welcome to come in, you can stay here for an hour or two if you ever need a friend" now that THAT is a verbal hug 😢😍♥️
Alec isn't just a singer, he's also like- an author, he tells stories in his songs..what his life is like. hands down best singer every. singe. one. of. his. songs. are. amazing.
I tried making my own song inspired by him..Not as good as this one Though.. Tell me how was it ... !! I would love to hear from you ❤❤ . ruclips.net/video/y-DSbJKGPNU/видео.html
Jesus is a liar. This is hell Jesus hurt people and pretended he was good and called Christ which is not a NAME! Short for Christan which means kind hearted. Christ means a kind hearted God in another body not remembering who or where they are sent herself because she's God into hell to save the soul in a test named by normally the person she's sent to save a lot of time getting the name from the dragon which is God without a heart (magic) so it tells the truth to some extent and gives you magic to believe in God seeing things that are not possible to make you believe Because you were not getting out the right way. Then you are sent to sit alone with Christ repeating the only way out for you is water which makes you stay back in one body and STOP using socerry and so you believe Christ and say sorry for all the bad things you did to anyone still here if you can and talking to God by yourself and you have 2 days left. 3/14 two fish who claimed to be Jesus or Mary or Adam and Eve. Lying doesn't get you far when you are being judged by the person who you are tormenting thinking I don't know but God does. Karissa is not God. God sat with Karissa in spirit and she was a new life sent in to help you get out of hell. God can be more than one person. God and God alone can do that. I can give you magic to think you project others and go invisible and change your face in hell. I already have your real body where I cast you to sleep for this test.
i was a victim of abuse and my boyfriend saved me from it, he heard my parents abuse against me and saved me. i relate to this song so much, thank you alec for making it.
i do love that he never pushes. "we can talk about the noise when you're ready" he never pressures her to talk, and really, thats what you SHOULD do for abuse victims. dont ever try and force them to open up, just be there for them (exactly the way he is when he says "you're always welcome to come in. you could stay here for an hour or two if you ever need a friend".)
Omg yas, I also love when he says "if you ever need a friend", because these days most boys his age are so... Filled up with wrong ideas and trying to take advantage on girls like the one in the song, who need help and a friendly shoulder, not some fake friends or boys trying to screw with them, you know what I mean?? In real life there'd be only two endings:: she'd ignore him cuz she'd think he's just someone else trying to hurt her, or she'd rely on him and he'd use her and leave her even worse. Hopefully im jusy being pessimistic and there are still good boy and girl friendships out there, I really hope so.
@@anah.forrat You are being a bit pessimistic, I do know a lot of boys that will take advantage of people, but luckily, a lot of my guy friends are angels.
@@craycrayallday4285 Yeah, a lot of my guy friends are also good, decent people (although I wouldn't call them angels). I don't really have that many guy friends, I can be a bit much sometimes. One of my closest friends is a guy, and I've had conversations with him about really deep stuff, especially since it can be awkward when guys try to talk about stuff with other guys. There are probably guys who can share deep stuff freely, but at least he's told me that it's very awkward trying to talk about that kind of stuff.
Yes so cute, and the fact that he's worried enough not to be able to sleep. I love the symbolization invitation must've been the wind" too, which -i think- represents general denial, fake excuses. Love that song
This is so good. It actually describes what abusive relationships. People cry out but don’t accept help Edit 1: OMG THANKS FOR 2k! Y’all this thread is a good place to talk and I promise y’all are safe here
I’ve found happy and mercy in the same comment section wow. Anyways, yeah, that’s why you’ve got to be respectful of their space, but paying attention to the signs they give. Listen to them, interact with them, and tell them that they’re “your always welcome in” if you wanna be their friend. Then you can talk it out with the person and hopefully lead them out of the abusive relationship their in.
To me I'm thinking of this describing someone who is depressed and just finds it so hard to go on because of the stress and not being able to talk to someone about it
Most of my friends have had abusive families. Though none of them blamed the wind, I let each of them know that I was there for them. My question is, who will be there for me when I'm going through something? That's how you know they're real friends.
me: *hears something in the kitchen at the dead of the night* me: _must have been the wind, must have been the wind_ me: *sees levitating objects* also me: damn.. dat some strong ass wind
I was abused as a kid by some adults close to me. When I was 13 we had a big fight because I fought back, our neighbor came up and asked if everything was okey, he continued to ask every other day for about a month. The worst thing i've ever done was to tell him everything was fine and just closed the door behind me. The last time he knocked my abusers had gotten irritated and thought something was up and so I just wanted him to go away so when he knocked on our door I yelled him and told him i thought he was ugly and just said a lot of nasty stuff to get him to leave me alone. He looked hurt and never knocked on our door again. I still regret it to this day, and after listening to this I'm actually planning to go back there and knock on my old neighbors and thank him for checking on me, because even though he didn't get me out of there he was kind enough to tell me he was there if I needed it and knowing someone saw me was actually something that helped me so much mentally.
Emma Arvidsson You really should do it, don’t worry. I’m sure he’ll understand. You’ve been really strong! You shouldn’t have had to suffer so much, I’m sure you’re an amazing person! Though, I do think he deserves an explanation. Aside from that, I’m proud of you, because it seems you’re doing much better now. If you need someone to talk to, I’m here for you!
I wish everyone in this world was so sensitive as the boy in the song and help and reassure the ones in the need of someone's company ,reassurance and friendship !!!
Sometimes society hardens boys to show no compassion because it shows weakness. I know that that mentality makes little to no sense but as a boy I can say that society does this and therefore guys feel they lose manliness if they show this softer side because that fear that their mask of masculinity being broken would hurt them just as badly as the girl crying.
All his songs are about his life experiences ,if you connect the dots in the song "if we have each other"his mom is pregnant with him and she is all alone and left this man who promised he would give her the life she wants hence the song" the wolf and the sheep".
Months later, he stood in front of the grave marker, a dirty, simple, silver plate with the girl’s name he barely knew. He knelt down and placed the rose he carried in front of the lonely marker. The noises he heard weren’t his imagination and he was distraught upon hearing how she had died, alone in her room after being beaten by a “loved one”. Tears fell down his face as he stood up. “It must have been the wind.”

Cause he makes music that really hooks us in, there mostly backgrounds of him when he was young I think. And it really hits us. His voice is lovely, it makes me wanna cry c;
I don't know why. But Alec Benjamin's songs are heavenly. The lyrics, the music and his voice! Marvelous! Thanks to my friend who introduced his music to me!!!
I never write comments to music videos but I feel like I had to. This made my cry so much. I need a person in my life so much that cares about me. Beautiful song, so many emotions.
Here’s why I love this song and cry almost every time I hear it: 1. In the song, he’s not pressuring/perusing the girl to leave the guy she’s with right now 2. He doesn’t come to poking around in her business when she’s not comfortable talking about it, but checks up on her when he can to make sure she’s doing okay 3. Instead of offering her “love” from himself as a way to escape her pain, he offers himself as being a friend (emphasis there) that she can lean on and talk to when she’s ready I am positive Alec Benjamin doesn’t just write songs, but writes entire stories with his words 💖
me: *Taking snacks at 3am* also me: *hears something fall* me: _must have been the wind, must have been the wind_ demon behind me: i just wanted to steal some snacks and you called me a WIND?!
This song is probably the most beautiful song I've heard in a while, without complicated instrumentals, kinda simple lyrics, but they're so, so unbelievably deep ...
Imagine if alec said those lines to her the third time he took the elevator... This can be anime... He's so talented... I could say... He's like the most underrated artist I've ever seen...
People talk about his voice but not ever but how kind he was to this girl, shows a lot about society… whether it’s a true story or not the fact he didn’t just sit there but actually tried to help is beautiful itself.

It's sad because people have abusive parents and boyfriends/ girlfriends like that and I hope that those people are fine and shame on people that abused other people !!!
I thought everyone just knew what the song was about.. After seeing some of the comments it reminded me that not everyone has been through Domestic Violence situations and not everyone knows the signs.. So for anyone who understood the song easily and had dealt with or witnessed dv.. I'm so sorry
He is such a good story teller.I love his song because of his deep feelings in lyrics a deep story, meaningful word and his smooth voice. And i really appreciate that how he arrange his lyrics." I'll say it must have been wind" that just amazing. Do u think that? 👍👍
It's not fair, Alec's videos have less views than this channel even though it's his music! Whenever I search one of Alec's songs, this channel comes up and has more views and so I thought of finally sharing this with you guys in case you didn't notice! It's cool to watch lyric videos but it's only fair that he has more views, he is the creator after all :)
If you have seen any of my comments on Alec's songs, you know what I do. I show the universal themes on Alec's songs and show how they aren't really just anecdotes or stories and show how you can learn from this song. So this song was MUCH harder to dissect than some others. But after listening to it a couple times through it became obvious to me. When there is something that is happening to you, you don't have to open up immediately but always look for the people in your life you can rely on. Again, if you've been here before, try to find a line that doesn't fit under this theme.
I'm in love with this- especially "We can talk about the noise when you're ready but til then, I'll say "it must have been the wind"" like seriously- I haven't dealt with abuse and stuff, but I do have "trauma" (idek if you would call it that) and being forced to talk about has only made it worse. So to everyone reading this, if you ever notice someone may be dealing with trauma, or really any stress in general, let them know you're there for them and make sure they're aware that you are a shoulder to lean on, but don't rush anything.
Must have been the wind She stood on the edge of the building crying her eyes out. She stretched her arms ready to jump. “3.. 2.. 1..” From the window Alec could see a body go flying past his window. He widened his eyes and rushed to his balcony. He was too late... Her body lay still on the ground. Blood flowing through her gold hair. As the tears fell down his face he fell too his knees. “Must have been the wind..” (I got this inspiration from a comment before this, dont say I’m copying it’s different. And sorry if it’s not good. I’m trying to make my stories better and better as I would like to have a part time job as a writer or something that involves writing)
Me: -Tries to shoot a ball in the basket- Also me: -succesfully shot the ball in the basket- Everyone: Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind
For thoses who don't get the meaning, The Girl was being abused, That's why she was crying. And she said it was the wind cause she didn't want to tell the boy that she was being abused. The guy told the girl at the end that she can talk to him. You should continue this story in the comments, What happens next?
And she had her sweater zipped to her chin hiding the scars and wounds but the guy kept he shoulder open to the girl even though she said it must be the wind
I did have an idea that I don't know is someone though of yet that she was abused or she was hurting herself as there is such things as cutters and it's tragic because both are possible ways she be hurting.
When this song came out I was still living in my abusive household and damn I needed to hear it, thankfully I am out of there now but listening to it now still gives me that comfort. That feeling of someone looking out for me.
5:02 AM Las Vegas A couple above us has been shouting for last 21 minutes and they keep going. Boy is white, girl is clearly black(not being racist here) Oh okay the girl just started crying. Around 10 minutes ago there was a 3rd voice, a white lady. A good chunk of the conversation has been first black lady shouting "No" continuously. Then all of a sudden few objects falling on the ground and then boy shouting "No" again and again. This kept going until just few minutes ago the girl started to cry and things went quiet. I assume the "baam" sound was the boy slaming the door. Thanks for your attention. I have no idea what kind of drama is going on up there, but I was having a good time sleeping and now I wonder if they're okay. All this stuff reminded me of this song and I came here. Unfortunately I can not check on her since I'm 17 year old exchange student and I'm here with my host family. They have the keys to the hotel room and I would not be able to come back in if I left. So instead, I could not resist the urge of coming here and listen to this. I'm sorry girl above me. I would tell her that it will be okay, That she does not have to overthink, After that I guess we would sing: "It must have been the wind, it must've been the wind, it must've been the wind, it must've been the wind"...

The boy was standing at her doorstep, with his back towards the door. He can now distinctly hear her crying and he was preparing to barge in but in no time he heard glasses shattering, he opened the door with all his force and he could see a man standing by the window looking down the building and there was no sign of the girl. The boy was shook, he retreated and ran towards the ground floor with all energy he had. When he reached, he could see a beautiful body lying on the ground, his legs resisted to walk any further but he wanted to see her for one last time. He walked near her and could see the girl's beautiful face covered with blood, he held her hand up but it was lifeless. He kissed her hand with tears rolling down his cheek. "It must've been the wind."
Literally every time I’m going through a hard time I go and listen to Alec Benjamin and all of a sudden I just feel this peace. No other music then his does that affect on me but I want to thank him for helping me through his beautiful music. ❤️☺️
We need more people in this world who go out of their way to check up on others, even if they are strangers. I grew up in an extremely abusive household with neighbors that didn’t care. Instead of checking in or even just calling the police, they would rather move away. I’ll never forget running outside for help as my father almost killed my mother. My neighbors next door were home but pretended not to be and the neighbors who lived across the street stared at me then went inside and didn’t care. I felt so alone and alienated.
This was the first song I've ever heard by Alec Benjamin. It is one of my favorite songs. It makes me cry everytime I listen to it. I love Alec, he is definitely one of my favorites and always will be.
This is me.. For anyone who needs me.. This song,. It's so touching.. If anyone ever needs some one, please let me know. And I love that the song he played is lean on me.. I played that song to at least half of my school, and walked into different classes with hand written copies of the lyrics, having them pass it around, when 3 students, 2 of which were friends of mine, 1 of which were close friends with me.. Died over the weekend. That song is my go to song when I reassure people that I'll always be there for them. I love that it's mentioned in this.

[Verse 1]
I heard a glass shatter on the wall in the apartment above mine
At first I thought that I was dreamin'
But then I heard the voice of a girl
And it sounded like she’d been cryin'
Now I'm too worried to be sleepin’
[Pre-Chorus]
So I took the elevator to the second floor
Walked down the hall and then I knocked upon her door
She opened up and I asked about the things I've been hearing
[Chorus]
She said, "I think your ears are playing tricks on you"
Sweater zipped up to her chin
"Thanks for caring, sir, that's nice of you
But I have to go back in
Wish I could tell you about the noise
But I didn't hear a thing"
She said, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"
She said, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"
[Verse 2]
So I was layin' on the floor of my room
Cold concrete on my back
No, I just couldn't shake the feeling
I didn't want to intrude because I knew that I didn't have all the facts
But I couldn’t bear the thought of leavin’ her
[Pre-Chorus]
So I took the elevator to the second floor
Walked down the hall and then I knocked upon her door
She opened up and I asked about the things I've been hearing
[Chorus]
She said, "I think your ears are playing tricks on you"
Sweater zipped up to her chin
"Thanks for caring, sir, that’s nice of you
But I have to go back in
Wish I could tell you about the noise
But I didn't hear a thing"
She said, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"
She said, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"
[Verse 3]
Aim my boom box at the roof, I'm playing "lean on me"
Just so that she knows that she can lean on me
And when she hears the words, I hope she knows she'll be okay
Aim my boom box at the roof, I’m playing "lean on me"
Just so that she knows that she can lean on me
And when she hears the words, I know exactly what I'll say
Promise I'm not playing tricks on you
You're always welcome to come in
You could stay here for an hour or two
If you ever need a friend
[Chorus 2]
We can talk about the noise, when you're ready, but till then
I say, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"
I say, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"

@@alphafemalewolf6922 can you explain? why am a kid

I like the part where it’s like now I’m playing lean on me so she knows she can lean on me. Also it’s like 4:20am and I’m not sleeping
No unlike most people(not all) who rap and sing he can actually tell a story with a song that is easy to sing and remember
The part where he's reassuring her... omg

I am so sorry you had to go through that. I am really glad you have such an amazing bf!!
🙏🏼
I'm so sorry about that
i do love that he never pushes.
Exactly

I hope it goes well

I wish everyone in this world was so sensitive as the boy in the song and help and reassure the ones in the need of someone's company ,reassurance and friendship !!!
Sometimes society hardens boys to show no compassion because it shows weakness. I know that that mentality makes little to no sense but as a boy I can say that society does this and therefore guys feel they lose manliness if they show this softer side because that fear that their mask of masculinity being broken would hurt them just as badly as the girl crying.

I never write comments to music videos but I feel like I had to. This made my cry so much. I need a person in my life so much that cares about me. Beautiful song, so many emotions.
Me too I’m crying rn
Here’s why I love this song and cry almost every time I hear it:
1. In the song, he’s not pressuring/perusing the girl to leave the guy she’s with right now
2. He doesn’t come to poking around in her business when she’s not comfortable talking about it, but checks up on her when he can to make sure she’s doing okay
3. Instead of offering her “love” from himself as a way to escape her pain, he offers himself as being a friend (emphasis there) that she can lean on and talk to when she’s ready
I am positive Alec Benjamin doesn’t just write songs, but writes entire stories with his words 💖

2:25 - 2:46 *THIS WHOLE PART MAKES ME CRY EVERYTIME,, HIS VOICE AND LIKE THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG JUST DKSJSKSJSK-*
5:02 AM Las Vegas
A couple above us has been shouting for last 21 minutes and they keep going. Boy is white, girl is clearly black(not being racist here)
Oh okay the girl just started crying.
I would tell her that it will be okay,
That she does not have to overthink,
After that I guess we would sing:
"It must have been the wind, it must've been the wind, it must've been the wind, it must've been the wind"...
His voice is so soft, calming, but stern at the same time! He's hands down the. Best. Singer. Ever. On. This. Planet! ❤

He's a great singer but I wouldn't go that far tbh
I heard a glass shatter on the wall in the apartment above mine
At first I thought that I was dreamin'
But then I heard the voice of a boy
And it sounded like he'd been cryin'
Now I'm too worried to be sleepin'
So I took the elevator to the second floor
Walked down the hall and then I knocked upon his door
He opened up and I asked about the things I've been hearing
He said, "I think your ears are playing tricks on you"
Sweater zipped up to his chin
"Thanks for caring, miss, that's nice of you
But I have to go back in
Wish I could tell you about the noise
But I didn't hear a thing"
He said, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"
He said, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"
So I was layin' on the floor of my room
Cold concrete on my back
No, I just couldn't shake the feeling
I didn't want to intrude 'cause I knew that I didn't have all the facts
But I couldn't bear the thought of leavin' him
So I took the elevator to the second floor
Walked down the hall and then I knocked upon his door
He opened up and I asked about the things I've been hearing
He said, "I think your ears are playing tricks on you"
Sweater zipped up to his chin
"Thanks for caring, miss, that's nice of you
But I have to go back in
Wish I could tell you about the noise
But I didn't hear a thing"
He said, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"
He said, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"
Aim my boombox at the roof, I'm playing "Lean on Me"
Just so that he knows that he can lean on me
And when he hears the words, I hope he knows he'll be okay
Aim my boombox at the roof, I'm playing "Lean on Me"
Just so that he knows that he can lean on me
And when he hears the words, I know exactly what I'll say
Promise I'm not playing tricks on you
You're always welcome to come in
You could stay here for an hour or two
If you ever need a friend
We can talk about the noise, when you're ready, but 'til then
I'll say, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"
I'll say, "It must have been the wind, must have been the wind
Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind"
Note: This is mainly just for me😁
I LUV Alec Benjamin's songs and him so much💘❣️💘
Oh yes I’m crying now 😭💕💕💕💕💕💕
U copied that from google
@@sarahabbas84 Yeh, I did
i’m so confused this is literally a lyric video
@@gentl3manly she changed “she” and “her” to “him” and “her” (basically changed the girl’s gender), and wrote “miss” instead of “sir”.
When you mad at your parents and slam the door, but the sound is too loud and your mom shout out.
Your excuse be like: 0:54
The boy was standing at her doorstep, with his back towards the door.
Omg wow 😭
MY FEELINGS
The bad ending
If the girl stayed alive I would ship Alec with that girl no offense
Too sad😢
I so sorry it sounds like you’re dad needs to go to jail I’m so sorry i live in a little bit abusive house to I sorry
the amount of care, kindness, and humanity in this song is overwhelming 🥺Pure talent of Alec 🥰
This song has a really deep meaning .I also like the stories Alec tells in his songs
I love how he is always telling a story with his songs!!
This was the first song I've ever heard by Alec Benjamin. It is one of my favorite songs. It makes me cry everytime I listen to it. I love Alec, he is definitely one of my favorites and always will be.
Love Alec Benjamin’s songs. They make me so relaxed ngl
@@macaronnn4806 np fam. There are people out there willing to help. My self included. What's wrong?
"Ur always welcome to come in~"
Love it.
Somehow, I can tell from his voice he truly cares, specially that he couldn't even sleep.
