I don't think Chicago has a recall mechanism in place. Better check the municipal & state laws about that.

Its not going good so far and Johnson was avoiding answering because he is a Teachers Union hand picked guy and he is being asked why he fired someone who the Teachers Union had issues with in 2020/2021
He could have answered the question without betraying the reputation of the former health official. It is not immoral to justify your decisions, sir. The reporter's question was perfectly appropriate. Brandon seems to be getting paranoid already. He clearly cannot handle this job.

I can agree with not talking about decision to fire an employee, but she didn't ask about WHY she was fired, but WHAT did it accomplish? She should have simply asked what is our strategy against rising COVID cases. You CAN. NOT. give this man any excuse to deflect from the main topic. Even though she reiterated the question a little clearer, he went BACK to the termination of the health commissioner. It's like he is some type of psychotic liar.
Actually, the public has a right to know why a public official was fired. He's just using that as a shield to avoid acknowledging that he doesn't have a viable plan going forward.
Sorry to see her go. She did her best to keep us safe. Doesn’t speak well that Johnson doesn’t give a reason. The doctor was fired on the spot without a chance to tell her team or organize a transition. Seems like Chicago has a vindictive mayor, who doesn’t want to be challenged.
