Spray the inside and outside of your car ( about at least an hour before sundown) with lavender / citronella/ lemon balm / marigold/ peppermint / rosemary oils or hang up those car scent packs with either of the above scents. All the above scents are touted as deterrent for mosquitoes, flies, moths and ants. Peppermint also can deter mice. Lemon balm may attract butterflies and bees.

103 here , we are supposed to spike up to 112 degrees this weekend... hills above north S.F. Bay Area. instant coffee is a necessity if you are exhausted, and far out there, sometimes its just easy enough to actually pull off roadside and make super quick when your brain dead and not picky at all, we all love a good coffee but hub cab brew will do. I snagged a 14 dollar little Hudson sprayer , you can sit and mist yourself for hours in the heat, got me through some " Hunker Down " situations . gets you chilly even in the desert.
I moved from Texas a year ago because of the heat. I lived there 3 years. Didn't like it there because of that among other reasons. I live in North Central Montana but even here we are 91 today and Saturday is supposed to be 101 which they are saying is a record for us. But by the next Saturday we will be down to 72. I don't know how you do it in a car. I was watching another RUclips van life lady and she's in southern California in the city though and she was giving pointers on places to hang out in this heat like library, community center, Panera, macdonald's, and the gym. But that only works for those close to the city and doesn't have a dog like a lot of people who live in their vehicle have a pet or two. That body of water below looks inviting. Nice spot 😍

Hi Maria.... I have an answer to the in your car bugs. I bought a portable bug zapper from Amazon 2 months ago, it's solar rechargeable during the day and ready to hang and zap till there are no more buzzing around and you get blissful sleep. I vote for weekly live sessions. Hope you and Blue stay safe, take care Maria.

Not right now. We had a total of 19 days in August with 90+ in the Philadelphia area, But we are getting a reprieve for first few days of September with mid 80s. It will go back into the 90s next week. As for doing live streams, I would suggest do it when you have a couple things to discuss with your audience.
Do the lives often as you want and can. Hope you’re finding a lil cooler weather. I’m in Texas. Cooling down some. All summer no rain and hot over 100 and humid. I hate it. I lived in Vegas 6 yrs . So hot there but dry. Originally from so cal. Nice weather to expensive. Be safe you and blue.

I live in South Florida and last June I camped up in Saint Augustine I thought being near the beach and north part of Florida it wouldn’t be so bad but it was really hot. But luckily that was the first time I use my zero breeze air conditioner which is for cars or small vans. And it worked really well it was 72 by time I woke up in the morning. And it was in the 90s but felt like 102 during the day outside and with that AC running in there it stayed a comfortable 79 or 80. Also I’m surprised you don’t have a bug zapper I cannot stand I have a mosquito in with me or gnats and I have a bug zapper and if it’s too bad I put second one in but usually the second one is in my screen tent. So far I’ve only been able to camp at state parks but I’m enjoying it and it will prepare me for the future when I can start traveling out of state.
It's actually been below 85 - 90 for most of the summer in FL. I'm on the east coast of the state so we get some breeze randomly throughout the day. It's been too dry though :/

Vancouver island…halfway up. On the coast. About 80 out, with a cool ocean breeze. Best place to live ever. I hate the heat, but with global warming, it’s here to stay.
100-105 degrees where I live in California today, some areas cooler. Hang in there! One reason to be glad to be in the office today I suppose.
Ugh 100+... That is a very beautiful spot to camp though! I would say do lives maybe once a month unless you feel like you would want to do it more. I'm sure either choice you will have plenty of people tuning in, but too often might feel over pressuring (just my thoughts).

In Flagstaff Az we live in mountains and largest Ponderosa Pine forest ..had lots of rain last 2 weeks ....mostly 70s..now we are about 79...nights and mornings are great
Get a shower bag.. 4 gallons water on your roof; heats during the day. Refreshing. Also get see-through cloth & magnets. Stick it over a partially open window for a screen & ventilation.

It’s hot everywhere! We share same hatred and our dogs are battling with us. I’ve traveled elevation even in Wyoming it’s like 89/90 here idk how your surviving and that coffee is smart. Best drink hot or soup on hot days. Be safe and stay hydrated

When it gets in the high 80’s to the 100’s I can’t take the heat. It’s miserable to sleep in, my dog and I are in front of the fan or the AC is on.

I'd definitely love a weekly live but it does matter to me how you feel about it. If making it a weekly thing is a bit much to commit to personally and you'd rather have some more breathing room in between then I don't see how anyone could have an issue with you going live bi-weekly or monthly. Do what makes YOU feel comfortable. We're here for you regardless! 👍

Have you thought to try velcro magnets to seal your hatch tent to your car? ♡
Oh dear please go to Walmart and get at least 1 more fan they have similar portable fans maybe need batteries or your jackery but you need it, and if there's no wind maybe keep it closed up and run AC through the night to cool it get it cold before turning off then have 2 fans. Get some extra bags of ice too and actually use ice on your bodies as needed, with the fans. Thats all I got I hope you get cooler weather asap. Here in the mountains in NC its in the upper 80's but with 100% humidity it feels like over 100, oppressive as hell. Im looking forward to Fall, stay cool and safe. Oh and lives are fun so whenever you want to do them is great, as long as you aren't adding extra stress to your life that you don't need:)

I know im late watching this but I reside in arkansas right now. It get to be 100 sometime higher with 100 percent humidity. Its gross and so are the bugs. Im moving back to Idaho if that says anything.

Holy shit (or f..k)! that’s not even hot that’s hotter than hot! Is it humid? Humidity makes it even worse IMO. But the camp spot by the lake seems nice though. Your British “absolutely ridiculous” impression sounded pretty British to me. But then again don’t take my word for it since English isn’t my native mother tongue. But in my ears the British accent (or dialect) sounded good. I always get confused over accent vs dialect😂
Who cares if you get instant coffee lol. If that is what work for you. I wonder about ppl nowadays they get mad about everything. I have the Starbucks instant coffee. Its much faster than grinding your coffee or having to use filters. People need to understand being in a car you have limited space. Love your personality and vids

I watch another youtuber and he has a thing that blows air really hard, I want to get something like that for bugs like gnats and mosquitos that get in my car at night...(and for other reasons) but yea, don't know if I can deal w/that or heat...i am really picky when it gets to being able to sleep so hopefully like you say, I can 'power thru" when times like that come, I know it's not an easy thing but I plan on cooling down my car as much as possible before I go to sleep w/my a/c and possibly ice cold water too, it will be impossible for me to sleep otherwise....hopefully I will not get caught up in that hot weather too often cuz I live in phoenix and yea, the only way to get through living here is staying inside during the summer all the time or in my car w/ac all the time, i HATE IT HERE and that's why I'm starting car life!

GURRRL. GET A SECOND FAN TO KEEP POINTED ON YOU, ALSO. One pointed on each of you. And even a third just to circulate air CROSSWAYS. Then you can create a bit of a cold air wind funnel to swirl around the inside, no matter which vehicle you use. Trust me. Been here 56 years. I hate the heat as bad as you.

PS- We had 115 degree days several times last summer. That was in GALVESTON, where the sea breeze used to combat this sauna hell. I think the sea breeze ran away to hang out in Alaska, it got so skeert of 115 temps

CAR SUGGESTION: Another RUclipsr is thinking about purchasing a Prius which would allow him to sleep with air on every night, without using a lot of gas or battery. It's temperature controlled. You might want to look up you tubers living in their Prius.

If you had a hybrid you could leave the car in ready mode and the AC on all night and not use very much gas.
That only works for the Prius.
