Hi Paul & Amy! Glad you (or your sponsor) purchased DVC Fan and parted ways with PW. We very much enjoy your individual contributions to the channel and the newly refreshed format. We are a DVC family and have always loved the Boardwalk and its frozen-in-time period Atlantic kitsch decor. Our wedding reception was at the Boardwalk. CONS for us: We are sad to see the refurb looks so sterile. Also, we are not a fan of lock-off rooms at any DVC property unless you plan to use the pass through door. Lock-off rooms often have crowded or oddly placed furniture to accommodate the removal of wall space in favor of a door you don’t need. The biggest PRO for us is proximity, specifically we can WALK to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.
Your team is killing it with the new direction! Great perspectives, especially the breath of fresh air offering advice for those with kids. Keep it up!
Ryan spot on with the critique of the rooms. Felt the same way and is the only negative of the resort that otherwise has one of the best “feels” of all the resorts. Also the toilet plumbing is a notorious problem there. Trattoria one of the most underrated restaurants on property. Coming from NY with truly great Italian food Trattoria is not that far off! If Disney could somehow sell Boardwalk with a 2057 extension and current VGF incentives I’d be all in!
Love: Location, views, the quiet pool. Dont love: food options, lack of quick serve options, need to get out in rain to access boardwalk, no covered walkway. Waiting Rofr now on a 100pt loaded contract for 115!
Good episode! I was a little surprised that no one mentioned that the rooms are smaller compared to most other DVC resorts. We do enjoy strolling along the boardwalk just like old Atlantic City. Such fun. Thanks everyone!
Boardwalk was our welcome home stay last year. We had stayed at the Grand Floridian (hotel) and in a DVC 1-bedroom at Aulani, but this was where we stayed for our first stay a DVC member. What can you say... Excellent location, lots of good food options. Was it in need of a refresh, yes, but it was nowhere near as bad as so many people on the forum made it out to be. We toyed with the idea of buying points there, but knowing that we would be buying at VDH, the point value vs the remaining contract life wasn't there. Oh and the italian sub at the Boardwalk Deli is just fantastic!
Thanks for the video. I agree on the musty-ness of the rooms. There must be an issue that is causing that; we even had to change rooms on one occasion it was so bad. But all-in-all it's a great location.
My wife and I bought last year into DVC Boardwalk 210 pts through DVC Resale and Monera. We have spent and equal amount over the years on the Inn side and Inn Keepers Club. Took our first trip in March of this year and Boardwalk View and it was amazing. We are going back for a week in November. Rooms are being remodeled. Love the access to restaurants and bars right outside your villas. Trattoria is an unknown gem. Access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios is amazing. The best part is when my daughters were 6 and 4 promised them I would take them for a trip here at the Boardwalk. When we happened to drive in on Magical Express. They are 26 and 24. In the next two years I will finally make good on that promise. The only way I could do that is by being a DVC member. I’m so thankful to be in a position to own at this resort.
Great episode everyone! Just got back from the BoardWalk a few weeks ago, and I have a few more stays there coming up in the next year. Love this resort so much! If it wasn't a 2042 resort, it would definitely be my next add-on resort.
We stayed at the BWV for the first time this last March and loved it. I agree with the downside of no splash pad, we missed that with our little grand daughter. The no food inside issue doesn't bother us, as we always get a 2 bedroom, so we have plenty of food and snacks always on hand, but I can see that for those that stay in a Studio. Also, love the direction you are going with the show and having "guests" on to give a different perspective.
We've been DVC members for 25 years and have been going to Disney every year since 1982. Restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin are superior to those at Disney. Let's be honest. The quality of the food at the Flying Fish (we used to love it) is not what it used to be. Shulas is far superior to the Yachtmans Steakhouse. And you can't beat Todd English for overall quality. But the Boardwalk and the Beach Club are some of the best of DVC in terms of location and things to do.
I live in southern NJ and visit the southern NJ shore towns and I don’t think that the Boardwalk area at Disney World is anything like the Jersey shore.
I love the Boardwalk, the views are the best and the proximity to two parks. The one down side to the 2 bedroom is the missing bed. since they are all lockoffs the second bedroom only has one bed. We have to get the 3 bedroom - But i love that room
BWV was a recent add on for us. Love it but every time we stay we are at the end of a very long hallway😫 hoping that changes for our next stay in October
I’m watching this from a BW studio. Location can’t be beat. Room is totally needing the refurb. Would love a quick service option but there isn’t much even on the boardwalk. Not sure why they wouldn’t put an elevator on the wings! Get ready to walk. That being said we’d come back when the refurb is done!
Great resort. Wish you could not get soaked trying to get food in rain. We go in winter and the vibe is very dwindled in comparison but still such a solid resort.
Family has been a dvc members since 2009 BLT buyer. Over the years, stayed at just about every Walt Disney World Resort, always had great experience and treated well and welcomed home buy all dvc Cast members, except at the Boardwalk. At the Boardwalk it seemed that Cast members tried to go out of the way to be rude to me and my family. I wrote it off as they don't like guests who aren't Boardwalk owners, but to this day, we like visiting the Boardwalk area, but being that it's the only place that we ever experienced rude staff, we'll never stay there again. I wonder if anyone else who isn't a Boardwalk owner received the same cold treatments? Other than that, it's a nice place to visit.
I really love taking the monorail from Epcot to MK. One improvement I’d like to see walking path to take the monorail from Epcot to MK. Understood no bus from BWV to Epcot makes sense due to having the boat and walking path. My wife were discussing ideas taking an Lyft or Uber. Could take bus to Disney Springs then back to Epcot. Also thought of possibly taking Skyliner to close by resort that offers bus service to Epcot. Anyone else have ideas or have experience please share!
I've owned at the Boardwalk Villas for15 years and love everything about it. Minus one thing. I'm a huge Disney pool/jacuzzi person, and the jacuzzi at the main pool is simply too small. Especially compared to some of my other favorite resorts on property. The two smaller pools' jacuzzis are also on the smaller side. But those don't bother me as much though.
DVC. Boardwalk is our granddaughter's favorite resort and she's been to all DVC. If not for dues I would buy at Beach Club bc its hard to get a room and that pool ⛱️
If you are talking points usage- cheap. If you are talking contracta- not cheap enough yet but falling.... They have been all over the place but around mid $100s depending on size. Just sucks not many years left on these contracts.
My husband and I stayed at Beach Club. He took a nap. He asked Where I was. I told him that I walked to EPCOT. He laughed! No you didn't. Well, I sure did. 😊🌎
There are plenty of good food options at Boardwalk, you just have to walk outside to get to them. The Boardwalk Deli and Pizza window for quick service, Trattoria Al Forno is a table service Italian restaurant and Flying Fish is a signature dining seafood restaurant. Plus you can walk to Swan/Dolphin and Yacht/Beach Club or take the skyliner to Riviera, Art of Animation and Pop Century. imho it has one of the best options for food - it just requires going outdoors.
A "resort" should have restaurants, a quick serve grab-and-go restaurant, spa, pool bar, and a souvenir/retail store. Boardwalk doesn't make my DVC resort favorite list, it lacks some of these.
I love Boardwalk but every time we stay we check in and the carpet in our room is soaking wet. STOP putting carpet in hotel rooms. I know some people prefer it because other floors are “cold” but carpet & Florida don’t mix! Mickey ice cream is sticky and I’m sure mousekeeping would appreciate floors that are easier to clean.
Wow guys really selling them, damp and musty, water leaks bad smell I won’t say the M word. Nice to hear how are dues are not being used we are 580 point holders usually stay in the monorail resorts or key west
Definitely my least favorite DVC. I like the lobby and the old Jersey shore vibe it has, but otherwise the whole area is very crowded and noisy. I don't like the pool at all. The room I stayed in was very worn out. I liked Beach Club a lot more.
Location, location, location. Absolutely love my Boardwalk home. (Thank you Monera and DVC Resale for my contract!!)

The Boardwalk def one of my favorites of all time !!! Location is everything and the entertainment is 2nd to none

Amy, I agree. Boardwalk is wonderful. 🎉
Paul and Amy y’all are doing so good keep up the great work and content. Well done
These spotlight episodes are great!
I loved to see an in depth of CCV and BRV!
LOVE what you all are doing with the channel! Fresh takes and newer types of content!

Love these spotlight shows 🎉 great work y’all, and helps me with DVC fomo here in Uk 🇬🇧

Great review. Enjoy the quick bites of DVC each Monday. Thx!

I agree with the musty smell, Ryan

Our Disney home since 2006!!❤❤🎉

We’re staying there this week for EpCot after hours and I will be looking for that Paul Nanny chair 😅
I agree with Ryan the rooms smell and need a remodel the only thing I like about the Boardwalk is the location.
Great show!

Thx always for your reviews.
What is “That sandwich “?

Hope the refurb helps with the minor issues.
Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas
We went in July for 2 nights and the smell was awful every time we walked into the room. I don't know if I will ever get my husband to come back.
My favorite resort is Boardwalk and my husband's is Beach Club.
Great resort. Wish you could not get soaked trying to get food in rain. We go in winter and the vibe is very dwindled in comparison but still such a solid resort.

Next up, Reflections development and taking a portion of Coronado Springs for DVC--deluxe, not moderate.

Want to try Flying Fish. Didn't think our grand would like it. 😕

What’s the price point for dvc boardwalk villas

What’s your current position with dvc or career in Orlando
Great show 👍🏼😊
We had a late flight and could not find a changing room/shower at the main pool
My husband and I stayed at Beach Club. He took a nap. He asked Where I was. I told him that I walked to EPCOT. He laughed! No you didn't. Well, I sure did. 😊🌎
This really makes me think about buying Boardwalk. Didn’t know they didn’t really have food.

You must be looking for a nice damp and musty room.
What’s the actual location in Disney
Right by Epcot great location!
Awww 🥰 Paul’s fave when Amy was reminiscing about their early dating days at Jersey Shore xxxoo
Where is the future timeshare development’s going to be built
Boardwalk is our home away from home.
A "resort" should have restaurants, a quick serve grab-and-go restaurant, spa, pool bar, and a souvenir/retail store. Boardwalk doesn't make my DVC resort favorite list, it lacks some of these.
Rented a 1 bedroom at boardwalk in 2021. Bought my contract in 2022
Is Pete finished with DVC fan?
Yes. Gone
Boardwalk has a good location . Boardwalk rooms keep me from booking there.
We love to share a freshly made funnel cake on the Boardwalk.
I enjoy visiting the boardwalk for the bar and dinner (flying fish) but I don't enjoy staying there.
Yes, Pete is done & gone
Boardwalk is a great choice unless the pool is a high priority… then beach club 100%
Go to an actual town in New Jersey it’ll be cheaper and less musty.
Wow guys really selling them, damp and musty, water leaks bad smell I won’t say the M word. Nice to hear how are dues are not being used we are 580 point holders usually stay in the monorail resorts or key west
Maybe it’s the first floor that is musty because that is what I thought too. I wanted to love it but was just meh…
Definitely my least favorite DVC. I like the lobby and the old Jersey shore vibe it has, but otherwise the whole area is very crowded and noisy. I don't like the pool at all. The room I stayed in was very worn out. I liked Beach Club a lot more.
They need better Wi-Fi and smart TV’s.
