These "expansion fittings" seems like a temp fix as the O-rings will eventually fail, by rot or by deflection. Rags work well to clean and sandpaper removes the burrs. I think over twisting the pipe as the glue is setting will weaken the glue, just twist 1/4 turn to make sure the glue is spread evenly and let it set up. I also give it a light flush tap with rubber mallet to make sure the male and female ends are tight together.
I am Chinese woman and English is not very well, but I still try to understand more your trainings class, You did very good job and perfection teaching, keep going do your bests for you can, love 😄😂
Yes we’ve done 90s repairs before...those are great when you want to put a shut off valve on the surface!!! Thanks for your support and supporting our channel!!!
What is the life expectancy of the O-Rings used in the slip connector, I think about three are used? Do you need to use Plumbers grease on the O-rings before installing. So Life expectancy and do you grease the O-rings. Thanks..
Excellent video. I need to add in a wye connection to the sewer line in my front yard, and the 4" inch pipe will have no flexibility give. Thus appears like it might be a good solution--------- Could I add the expansion coupling on the upstream end of the y and then use a regular coupling on the downstream end. That way I could fit in the precise length and then expand it to connect? Will this work? Also I am using ABS Schedule 40 pipe and fittings. Want to make sure this will be viable and code legal in California codes? Many Thanks. Your idea could be a life saver for me. Interested to hear your feedback.
I’m not sure they sell these in a 4 inch diameter for septic pipes typically you use a rubber grommet and you slide it up on the one side of the pipe slide that pipe down to the exact fit and then slide the rubber grommet back halfway up! I hope this helps and I’m thankful for your support!
Very cool fitting. Red hot is the best cement available and I never used pvc primer in my life. Never had any issues. I do sand and clean all my joints. That’s it
No worries brother, what looks normal to me not necessarily means it looks normal to you. Keep posting nice videos! I like to use soaked rug with degreaser followed by one with rubbing alcohol to keep that grease out😊
only thing I would be concerned with here is it looks like you used Christy's blue glue--I have seen that fail after 10-20 years and fittings get blown apart on an irrigation system.
LOL there is a lot of debate on this topic however,,, I have found primer use before glue holds up longer over time than just glue. Thank you for your support!

We use them on my golf course. We have some 20+ years without issues.

Thank you!!!❤️❤️❤️
I use sandpaper before primer and do a 1/4 turn. Also I’d rather use four 90s than those telescopic couplings cause they tend to leak.
Thank you for this! So many details I wasn't doing.
Thanks for your support!
Just installed that exact one from Lowe's. Leaked immediately at the O-rings. I recommend against.
I’ve had them leak if they are extended too far and the line is off center. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you! Great video. You reminded me of what tools I will need.
lol, thanks for your support!
Can you explain the reasoning for cutting the more PVC off and using and an extra coupler rather than cut a little and put one coupler?
It’s a sliding fitting due to not being able to move a coupler back and forth… this is the way… thanks for your support!
What are your thoughts on adding 90s... seen a job be done that way super fast and easy. Thanks for the video

Great video. Thanks for the explanation. Going to buy one today.
Great! Thanks for the encouragement!
Thank you this was a huge help.

I wouldn’t recommend greasing the O-rings as it’s running clean water they last a good long time as is!

They make cpvc couplings with no groove in the middle that allows you to slide it all the way onto one pipe then half way back onto the other.

Thanks for your support!
Some pros only put glue on male pipe…excess glue can get into valves etc
Some pros do both!
Thanks Brother
Does that repair coupling have to be fully extended to work?
No it can be partially extended!
Thanks for your support!
Then why did you use an extra coupling? Makes no sense to have one extra joint.
What do you call this type of fitting?
I’m not sure what They call it maybe an extension Repair
Thank you for your support for our channel!!!
Hi G Don, is a 2'' pvc slip fix, you can get them from 1/2" up to 4-6"
Flospan
“We’re gonna clean pipe thoroughly” 🤦🏻♂️
Right! Why not mix a little mud in this connection to ensure joint failure?
Bro, it was a sarcasm. You didn’t clean it, you barely wiped it lol 😅
@@jeanpeng2629 I know! I totally got it. I should have marked it as sarcasm. I went looking through the comments for someone notice it as well.

😆😆😆😆😆😆giant pair of glue and primer!
What was that pipe for? Like sewage or water? Also was this a golf course or school? Sorry am just curious
Just a farm, it’s a main water line for the sprinklers
How much will be the cost for a repair like this one?
Between 3-5 hundred
Lol....
I think its beter if you use new pipe 🤷
1/4 turn only not full spin😂
It always Depends on the situation bigger pipes more glue longer turns!
Thanks for your support!

Primer doesn’t clean the pipe.

Yes primer does! Been using it 40 years but just get dirt on a pipe or even oil and use primer and it will clean it. Common sense really
Dude bout ran the blade through his leg. Do not use a sawsal like this man did.
It’s a saber saw,
Thanks for the concern, risk comes to all who push forward, and thanks for supporting our channel!!!
Wow! What a drama queen!
Didn’t even deburr the PVC or thoroughly clean the PVC👎🏻👎🏻. Then he drops the primer bush in the mud👎🏻👎🏻
Thanks for your support! I can tell you’re a top-notch guy!
Were you trying to be perverted in the beginning?
Get your mind out of the gutter, and thanks for your support!
