    I am NOT exaggerating when I say you are one of the BEST at explaining everything IN DETAIL. You said TWO ounces of this and TWO ounces of that. You did not skirt over it. I love so much your videos. I am pretty new to your channel---66 year old retired female doing what I can to maintain what I can. But I must have missed the reason for the Dawn detergent. I treated my St. Augustine just today with the SAME product and brand in granular form...just this morning. It was the Sta Green 30-0-4 with humic and sea kelp and with other nutrients. By the way, I laid down my own St AUGUSTINE sod a couple of months ago. One of the hardest things I have done.

    • @LawnAmateur
      @LawnAmateur  Год назад +4

      Thats wonderful that you were able to lay your own sod. That Sta Green product you used is another great product that I'll be using in the future also. The dawn is a surfactant, it helps the liquid product stick to the grass leaf blades and break the surface tension down faster making the product more efficient. Thank you very much I appreciate your support and I'm glad that I could help.

    Ok anther great video, thanks. Here's a tip for your fertilizer apps...
    If you have the opportunity to do so water your lawn at least 5-6 hours before your application, preferably a day before ( wet soil will absorb those nutrients/ fertilizer much better than dry soil. ) Now the lawn / soil doesn't have to be drenched, you just want that soil better prepared to absorb the fertilizer. You will still have to water they product in. I hope this helps someone , God bless.

    I went by the reviews and purchased the lawn mower. I had no advice or knowledge about it. I put it together yesterday and used it today to cut my front yard. This is how I reviewed it on Amazon>>>
    '''So far, I am absolutely loving this mower. Lightweight, easy to maneuver, and performs like a hungry workhorse....cutting thick grass with ease. There are some things which need improvement----clearer instructions on putting together some of the parts...kinda irritating when you let go of the handle it shuts off. There should be an option as to whether you want it that way. There should be a warning about that lowest cutting level which will scalp your grass. That cord keeps coming unplugged in spite of the cord bracket. It is still a five star unit. Thank you for thinking of female seniors when you made this.''
    By the way, my yard looks absolutely amazing. It took me about an hour to cut the front yard.. I then put a treatment of fungicide and insect treatment on it. It would have taken less time to cut it but I have a very steep yard and getting use to that cord, trying to keep from running over it. I finally worked out a system.

    Bruh, you are the man! I'm in NY Long Island and I'm following your channel and learning. Do yo feel the tall fescue is better than the big box northeast blends which include Kentucky Blue grass and fescue?

    • @LawnAmateur
      @LawnAmateur  Год назад

      They're pretty much the same for cool season lawns. I'll say the blended variety like northeast blends may actually have a slight edge because you're getting 2 grass type varieties like Fescue, Kentucky bluegrass, and sometimes a 3rd like Ryegrass. Having multiple varieties of grass is a major plus because each type has their own strengths and weaknesses. I have a turf type tall fescue yard so if I get attacked by a lawn disease that attacks fescue at a high rate I can possibly lose my lawn. But if you have multiple grass type ( a blended yard) if a certain disease attacks the fescue but Kentucky bluegrass or Ryegrass is stronger against that same disease you'll still have a lawn if that makes sense. I hope this helped and sorry about the long response.

    Wow I hit SUBSCRIBE! Very easy to understand. Your lawn is so nice and lush. Mine is --- no comment :). My lawn is light green with brownish at the bottom, but I am getting mushrooms. I'm thinking maybe my soil is compacted and I should try liquid aeration. Do you think that might help me?

    • @LawnAmateur
      @LawnAmateur  Год назад

      Yea you can definitely start using the liquid aeration that'll start helping to loosen up the soil. If you're getting mushroom that's not a bad thing it just means your soil has alot of organic material which is good for the soil. The mushrooms will go away once the sun comes out and the lawn dry out. Thank you for subscribing I appreciate the support

    I Don't have any other way to ask you this but to post here...I am considering mowing my own yard because my yard guys don't seem to sharpen the blade on the mower which tears at the blades of my St. Augustine. It breaks my heart because the grass, which is what laid myself, is so thick and pretty. My question is... will this lawnmower {LawnMaster MEB1114K Electric Corded Lawn Mower 15-Inch 11AMP} sold on Amazon be capable enough to do the mowing. I SPECIFICALLY wanted an electric / corded mower that is lightweight because of my age...being 66 and female. I would have to lift onto a 4ft retaining wall which has grass each time. I do not understand Amp etc as it relates to being capable enough to cut my thick St. Augustine. Thank you.

      @@LawnAmateur .23 acres altogether in the front. about the same in the backyard. But it's split down the middle by a concrete walk in the front yard. Relatively smaller yard, big enough. Another reason I want an electric mower is that I wouldn't think it has a carburetor. Correct me if i am wrong. I don't want to have to unclog such a thing or work on it. Wouldn't know how, etc. if you have a better recommendation for a mower, please let me know. I TRUST your opinion. I have watched many of your videos. So INFORMATIVE and well exhibited.
