So sad 💔 This happened to me one time, not that anyone recognized me but it was never the same even it looked the same…you really can’t go home. Audrey conveyed so much with her eyes, so much empathy🥺
2:12 this scene…it utterly crushes me every time. I can feel the drop in my heart, the seizing inward, and the tears that threaten to leap forward from my eyes. Powerful acting and cinematography that isn’t seen anymore.
The first part of this scene makes me sad because imagine living in a place you were able to call home, you leave it and then coming back to it later. The nostalgia that hits you when you do is the saddest thing because you're visiting a memory that can't be relived.
@@larscain3282 I am living it now as a senior , no more family , just a sister that I hardly speak to ,a limited amount of funds and a room that I rent . Oh and how, I am trying to take care of my health .
Joseph Forest. I m sorry you're lonely. Let me tell you, rich or poor, young or old, there is no satisfaction without Christ. He and He alone can fulfill you. Try Him
Well, it's a bit of the last one. Eliza is not the same lady she was when she left the streets she lived in. If you recall her argument with Higgins, she's too proper to do the same job she had been doing before she met Higgins and the Colonel, which was selling flowers on the roadside. Of course, I wouldn't say she's too fancy for family now, because her father is now in a similar boat as her; they're both in "Middle class Morality" as Alfred called it, so they can't go back to the way they have been living. Hope this helps!
Common law marriage vs legal marriage. For lower class people, legal marriage wasn’t always bothered with, but they were still functionally and socially married.

Esta escena me gusta me da fuerza me inspira
El pasado es el pasado... NO TIENES NADA QUE HACER ALLI!!!
I wonder if Freddie ever found out Eliza was the girl he once knocked over outside the theatre.

I’m confused. So she can’t go home because he’s getting remarried or because she’s too fancy for the family?

@@ceciasa3376 Yes, a lot! Thanks!
She can’t go back home because her dad wants the whole $4000 pounds a year to himself (& his wife). He’s not a nice dad.
Elisa ya no es la misma. Ya no pertenece alli

"Your stepmother wants to marry me". She's not Eliza's stepmother until they're married!
He apparently didn't marry Eliza's mother either.

"he left me 4000 blooming pounds a year" - 4k GBP in 1921 was the equivalent of approx 560k today.
