    Quick question: Do you need to remove the battery when installing the SSD?

    Hi
    I have 15s-fq5000nia, do you know if i can add ssd or hdd to it?, it came with m.2

  • @frafra224

    At 7:10 so you're saying if the model has a PCIe based SSD then it's not possible to install an additional SATA drive on it?

    • @lad7534
      @lad7534 3 года назад

      i understood that its not cost effective, you have to buy the sata ssd the cable and the mounting if needed, i already have an old laptop with that, mine came with an m.2 ssd so i am going to use the space this sata ssd

    • @BrueComputing
      @BrueComputing  3 года назад

      You can, but you'd need the specific HP cable, connector and brackets which aren't easy to get and tend to be expensive.

    So is this impossible to add HDD to that box space ?

      Yes, but you'd need the specific HP cable, connector and brackets which aren't easy to get. They aren't present if you have a model with an SSD as standard.

    Hey thanks for the video, i am confused between HP 14s/15s 5300u 512gb SSD, 8GB DDR4
    Dell 3501 I3 11th Gen 256gb, 8GB DDR4
    Though hp has better features, i actually don't like it especially the keyboard and the plasticy body
    What do you suggest, since i saw you 3501 teardown too, i fell both hp pavilion and dell 5000 series are better but they cost too much, Dell doesn't even have a 5300u laptop

    • @BrueComputing
      @BrueComputing  3 года назад +1

      Personally I'd probably take the Ryzen 3 5300U over the i3-1115G4. The larger SSD is a bonus too if you need the space.

    Thanks, what is the max SSD you can add to these? - I'm thinking to put a 'Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2' in it

    • @BrueComputing
      @BrueComputing  2 года назад +2

      Any single sided M.2 2280 SHOULD work, so 970 Evo Plus 1TB should be no problem.

      I think you can only replace the original. I don't think you can have 2 in the same laptop.

    Hey i just bought this laptop and the fan is making a lot of noise, is it the same for you? every few minutes the fan starts noisy and when im doing heavy tasks is really annoying, anyone experiencing the same?

      Yes

    • @izakomandaz2895
      @izakomandaz2895 2 года назад

      Your airflow probably isn't very good so it's overheating and the fan goes into overdrive, producing lots of noise.

    Hi
    I have a 15s-du1034TU
    Is it possible for me to upgrade another ssd?

    • @BrueComputing
      @BrueComputing  3 года назад +1

      The 15s-du1034TU comes with a 2.5" HDD as standard. You may be able to add an M.2 SSD in to the system, but I would advise opening it up and checking for the presence of an M.2 slot as sometimes this is silkscreened on the board and not included on models without a SSD from the factory.

    • @auyongmunkeng3111

      @@BrueComputing how about 15s-du1057tx?

    • @BrueComputing
      @BrueComputing  3 года назад

      That comes with an M.2 SSD, so will not have the cable, bracket or connector for fitting a 2.5" SATA drive installed - HP don't include these if they aren't being used.

      @@BrueComputing So can I install another driver in 15s du 1057 tx ?

    • @BrueComputing
      @BrueComputing  3 года назад +1

      @@auyongmunkeng3111 Only if you can source the additional parts that you'd need, which not really economical as you're looking at £75 in parts if you can even find them. Personally I'd just install a 1TB+ SSD.
