Just got back from Vegas and everything on this video pretty much happened while I was playing except for finding chips under the table lol. Good video.
Omg, so many things to be aware of. I am a bit afraid of my first experience on a table as the speed of the dealer's moves seems so fast. Cross fingers, I will arrive in about three weeks in Vegas, all that long way from Berlin :)
You can learn both ways, either at home or at the casino. It's completely up to you. Although, learning in a casino costs money... It is the dealer's job to teach the player how to play the game so if you don't know how to play feel free to ask the dealer and they should be able to help you out.
I learned alot from this video. Now i believe i have the courage to walk up to a table. I have always by passed them because i did not know how to play thanks.
I wrongfully assumed blackjack would be simpler than Texas holdem. lol Should you understand the entire game before going to a casino, or is it possible to learn it there?
You shouldn’t sit down at a blackjack table until you have memorized Basic Strategy. It takes several hours to learn BS best over several weeks. If you try to learn at the casino using hard earned money the odds are severely stacked against you. Learn on an app for free.
2:16 this is incorrect! If dealer has a blackjack, you don't keep your original bet and insurance... You LOSE your original bet but get paid double your insurance bet... Which is essentially the same amount but you explain it all wrong
Early surrender is a rare rule in which the player may forfeit his hand and half his bet before the dealer checks for blackjack. The strategy is different from late surrender only when the dealer has a ten or ace showing. For more info, check out this link: wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/appendix/6/
If you win a $5 blackjack at a 3 to 2 ratio, you will win $7.50. The Dealer will give you one red $5 cheque, two white $1 cheques and one 50 cent piece. The $5 and $1 clay cheques are the normal chips that casino's use and the 50 cent piece will be an actual coin that you can spend as money anywhere. There are a few casino's that have 50 cent cheques and you will just need to cash them into the cashier's cage along with the rest of your cheques.
I ever really thought about looking on the floor around the tables. I'll do that who knows I might get lucky. So if I find a chip (s) I get to keep them right?
Wrong. If you find money in or around the Casino, it's proper etiquette to return the money either to the Dealer, who then calls the Floor Manager to handle it or hands it to the owner of the chip if he's around. If you find money on the floor in a Casino, and caught taking it, they might hold you and charge you with petty theft. However, the Casino might Warn you the first time around. However this is just in some Casinos, not all.
Yep, as a customer, if you find an unclaimed cheque on the floor then you get to keep it. The only time that the cheques have to be returned to the casino (not redeemed) is if they are over $500 or if the person who found it is an employee. That's in Las Vegas. I have no idea how the Indian casino's handle that situation.
Prince Nemo ....and then dealer hands it to the floor manger who rewinds hours of cctv footage to find who droped the chip ,and sends out all his staff with photo in hand across the vagas strip , to find it's rightful owner......i dont so ! you snozze you lose that dam chip is mine! whoa ha ha ha-a
Philip Palmer lol Yep! :) You're right. The casino would say thank you and then lock that chip up in their bank and never think about it again. That's why when you're a player, just claim the chip for yourself. If you work there, then it's a different story.
Vegas Aces cool next time a see a loose chip on the floor three tables over i'll be all like "oh look there it is phewww! slipped straight through my fingers" shame about staff rule though ,we're all just trying to make a living !
Hi! I believe that luck changes all of the time! :-D Luck comes in waves. But from all of my years of experience, where night after night I see the same people on my table for my entire 8 hour shift losing hundreds after hundreds after hundreds. My message was to those people. Sometimes it's a good idea to take a break and then try again later, instead of staying at the same table for 48 hours straight with no shower, living off of booze and cigarettes.
I used to work at a casino in MS as a barista and I was told that if I ever found money or chips on the casino floor, regardless if I was working at the time, I must take them to the nearest security, or else I could be fired for "stealing from the casino." I'm not sure if this was just the casino being greedy or what, but as a guest in a Las Vegas casino, what are the rules for finding money?
A private establishment can make their own rules and as a guest you must follow them. The casinos consider the chips to be their property in that circumstance. Not sure what would happened if they called the police to settle it. I’d be more comfortable with the police holding it for 30 days than the casinos itself. Hypocritically they just love it when tourists keep chips as souvenirs because it’s pure profit. That’s another example of how the casino always wins because they make the rules.
Yea. Unfortunately my co-worker, who was with me when I found it, reported the chip and I had to give it to security. Security told me that if no one claimed it in 30 days then I could keep it; but that's a bullshit statement because if the owner didn't claim it you know one of those security guards would! ... I never got that chip back...
This has become my family Sunday night after dinner game. Slowly but surely I'm getting more familiar with everything but definitely videos like this help IMMENSELY :). That's ridiculous you didn't get the chip back! But karma will repay the favor I'm sure.
Even dealer’s have superstition and magical thinking when it comes to luck. Ironically the more time you spend in a casino the math seems harder to except because the human brain looks for patterns - and often falsely perceives them where they don’t exist. What she was referring to is correct although she didn’t explicitly state it - increasing your bets when losing it hopes of winning it all back quickly is a common recipe for losing your entire bankroll.
Hi Pablo! :) It depends on what table you're at. There are 4 deck, 6 deck and 8 deck shoes. The average is 6 decks, but feel free to ask the Dealer when you're at the table.
All casinos have either $2.50 chips or 50 cent chips. But $5 tables hardly exist anymore - and when they do they are packed with beginners who slow down play severely and lose a lot of money and get hammered from free drinks
I tried playing a single deck and the dealer told me that I have to wait until they are finished with the whole deck. Does that mean you have to play the whole deck when you're in the game?
Hi Shant. No, it just means that there is no mid-deck entry. So no one is allowed to enter the game in the middle of the deck, however, if you start the game at the beginning of the deck, you can leave at any time.
That sucks :( but it makes sense. Casino's are corporations and corporations are naturally greedy. K, now for the question. If you are a guest and you find a chip on the floor, the casino won't care if you keep it. But there are exceptions to everything. If the chip just rolled off the table and the floorman is chasing after it, then I don't think they'll allow you to keep it. So it depends on the situation. I hope that helped! :-D
You need to have a high school diploma or GED and you need to be able to pass an audition (which just means that you can deal on a live game without messing up too badly).
The real reason why they forbid mid-shoe entry is because card counting teams might signal in a high roller in the middle of a shoe when the odds are good for the player without any sign of bet spreading. The idea of "flow of the cards" is pure superstition and is not mathematically proven.
While you are technically 100% correct she also made a practical point you are ignoring. If you enter in the middle of a winning shoe and immediately the whole table starts losing you just made 5 enemies who are also superstitious. Their anger is real even though their understanding of statistics is lacking
2:36 no, you should not ask for even money... Terrible advice and explanation again. It's only 30% chance it will be a push. You don't explain that if you take even money offer for example $20, you only get $20 when you could have had $30. Terrible explanation
She didn’t give advice on how to play it. She only explained what options are available. All side bets are losing propositions unless you are counting cards - that includes Insurance and Even Money
Just got back from Vegas and everything on this video pretty much happened while I was playing except for finding chips under the table lol. Good video.

What are the requirements on becoming a dealer?

Love the last comment ^^ We should have it in the local pup xD (The gambling and paying bills part ^^)
Thank you so much! :-D
Cool stuff, got some years left before I can gamble but now I'm prepared :D
Not anymore
no, now I have no money left :/@@Jamal78276
it will also help to learn card counting. since I've learned too count cards, i made $3870 out of $60 at my local casino
Yea. Unfortunately my co-worker, who was with me when I found it, reported the chip and I had to give it to security. Vegas Aces that sucks you should've reported the security guards

That's ridiculous you didn't get the chip back! But karma will repay the favor I'm sure.
One thing I don't understand, why do you say that luck cant change and that I should leave if I have a losing streak?
Even dealer’s have superstition and magical thinking when it comes to luck. Ironically the more time you spend in a casino the math seems harder to except because the human brain looks for patterns - and often falsely perceives them where they don’t exist. How many decks are typically in a shoe?
Hi Pablo! :)
It depends on what table you're at. There are 4 deck, 6 deck and 8 deck shoes. The average is 6 decks, but feel free to ask the Dealer when you're at the table.
Vegas Aces Thank you!
And how common are electronic shufflers?
Pablo Suarez The electronic shufflers are common; here in Las Vegas.
But there availability varies in different areas.
what happens if you place a beat of 5$ and get blackjack you would have half a dollar what happens then ???
All casinos have either $2.50 chips or 50 cent chips. But $5 tables hardly exist anymore - and when they do they are packed with beginners who slow down play severely and lose a lot of money and get hammered from free drinks

6:42 and 6:45 Lol lmao
lol, thanks!
Umm shouldn't the first card dealt for the dealer be face down, and then the second card be face up...
It depends on the casino you work at. Every casino is different.
That sucks :( but it makes sense. Casino's are corporations and corporations are naturally greedy. K, now for the question. I tried your Technique to tip the dealer last weekend and it didn't work. After the hand I pulled out my checkbook and wrote him a check. =)
I'm glad you're trying new techniques! 😂😂😂
You need to have a high school diploma or GED and you need to be able to pass an audition (which just means that you can deal on a live game without messing up too badly).
Wow. That is a dickish thing to do (Security are usually arseholes anyway, in my opinion.) Great video by the way! I've learnt a lot :)
