    Nice tutorial, I have a 701 Enduro so I can relate!
    The best wheelie bike ever created is the 1983, 84 Honda XL600. I could do 5 gear jobs on that bike, literally for miles. The 690 based bikes carry a lot more weight on their front end than the XL did, but they also have seemingly 2x the power. All that stuff does is greatly affect how easy it is to get near the balance point, once at the balance point all bikes are more or less the same, requiring just small throttle adjustments to maintain the wheelie without having to use a lot of acceleration. I had that dialed on my XL but that was a very long time ago - I am still very much working on that with my 701.
    Found a nice new business park near me that is not occupied yet, so no security cameras - it is a perfect place to fool around. Laid out a little course in there including some curb hopping and ramp jumps. I find if I get in an aggressive frame of mind I do better wheelies - ripping off a tight 2nd gear corner is the ideal time to initiate a wheelie. Agree 100% that 2nd gear is the wheelie gear!
    My wheelies need work, but In case ya want to hear what these brappalicious big bore bad boys sound like when they are perturbed with a Yosh can on them, here ya go:

    Keep the rear brake covered and the rubber side down 😆

    The leaning left or drifting to the left comes from all the lil torque that’s coming from the motor/chain. At least that’s what I have heard and it makes sense

    It feels weird because this bike for being a supermoto / enduro has very weird sprockets on it, I have the 2020 KTM 690 Enduro, so basically if not all the same bike but orange color instead of white and knobby tires instead of slicks/sm rubber. There is no reason or actual use for the gearing this bike has from factory. A bike like this should not have it's powerband from 6000 - 8000 revs ,it just makes no sense.
    By swapping for a smaller frontsprocket, like 1-2 teeth smaller, you transform this bike it's almost full pontetial. Like a very good mod for this bike that it actually should come with from factory is that kind of evo kit that many add to this bike after buying it. So bigger open airfilter, full system or just a slip-on swap that kind of makes the bike have a full system and then a 12-13 tooth front sprocket that makes the bike much for responsive and stronger at lower revs where you want it.
    I think my 2020 has a 15T front sprocket, I bought a 13T front sprocket anyways and my friend is going to fit it in April and he said that we probably have to adjust the chain to fit that smaller sprocket afterwards. My 690 Enduro does almost 200km/h (124MPH) from factory , that is useless on bikes like these. Imagine getting better acceleration and that be bike gets a lot stronger on low revs, that is really much more worth it even if the bike only does 160km/h (99MPH) instead. Absolutely worth the sacrifice any day of the week =)
    I almost never ride over 160 km/h on this bike, everything over 150 km/h on this bike is so uncomfortable, especially for me being 6'6 tall. I feel like a huge sail in the wind and it makes me really fatigued after only like 20 minutes to ride at those speeds. I much rather sacrifice 40-50 km/h for a much stronger , low down torque. It also makes the bike much better for offroad use, to have that strong drive low down in the revs when riding in the forest for example.
    People riding KTM 890 Adventure R and the Yamaha Tenere 700 has no chance against my 690 Enduro, it weighs like 60-65 kilograms less , that is a lot of weight difference when riding offroad. My 690 Enduro is so light that I was not even allowed to take my motorcycle license with it in Sweden haha. It is forbidden to ride the 690 bikes like the Duke 690, Husqvarna 701 SM/Enduro and the 690 Enduro when taking your license in Sweden.

    Why do you have abs off for wheelies does it make diffrence

    • @moto_morgan
      @moto_morgan  Год назад

      yes! abs off means I have more control, some times the bike doesnt like the front wheel being off the ground and spinning slower than the rear, meaning it trigger the abs, taking away my rear break!

    Hey man, learning to do wheelies with husky 701.. new to wheelies.. question if you can help answer..how do I know whether I reached balance point when doing wheelies ? Do you feel like weightless or tip over to the back ? Thanks much.

    • @moto_morgan
      @moto_morgan  3 месяца назад +1

      you feel weightless and then you tip backwards and crash. at least that's how I learned. But your front forks will seem to be parallel with the road

      @@moto_morgan how will you know , that you reached the balance point ? What I read is that, when you reach balance point, your wheelies will feel effortless / weightless.. is that true ? Or let me ask the question in different way..how to stay at balance point (weightlessness) with out tipping over ?
