- Hello and welcome back to another episode of The Dive with Azael, Kobe and Meteos! In this episode, we’ll review how the start of the season's power rankings stack up against the current standings and deep dive into each LCS team's performance thus far. We’ll talk about the break week as well as Kobe’s decade-long jungler trauma!
The LCS will be on break starting this week but The Dive will not! Stay tuned next week for the Patch 14.4 rundown!

I love meteos being on the dive as a former pro he has so many insights and is super funny
Having a former player's perspective is so helpful to have on this cast of people. He brings extra information about scrims, practice, and culture that you don't get without having lived it

I generally watch the Meteos/Sneaky/Doublelift costream every week, and you can tell just how much Meteos thinks about the game. I'm so glad he is on a show where these discussions are possible.

It would be REALLY nice addition for this show to show graphics on the fights they are talking about. One such example would be the Sniper Aatrox fight vs TL at dragon so that the viewers could see and appreciate clearly what you guys are talking about.
Unfortunately they just laid off so many people that I doubt this would happen because the production on this would be a skeleton crew. I think the long-time producer got laid off.

@@teemuratilainen2508yeah I mean it is easy. They have the footage. All it is, is another video thrown on top of the main video. But podcasts are really tedious to edit and they have strict deadlines to hit so it gets out on their schedule. So I’m sure just getting the audio mastered as well as an hour and a half of multicam editing is a lot for their skeleton crew. And those people are probably editing other projects as well so it’s gotta be a cluster behind the scenes with the layoffs.
I came for the Meteos, I stayed for the Meteos. He settled in so well over the last few pods. Keep up the great content.

Talking about how Jensen is a player who just does his job (and seeing how well he works with Bwipo), I can't help but wonder what the TL super team would have looked like if they simply kept Jensen rather than bringing in Bjergsen.

39:30 Azael saying lower teams can be really hungry because they are fighting to keep their jobs is a good point. The gap between best and lowest teams is not far apart this year.

Do you think that the closeness in standings is due more to a fall from the (expected) top teams or an approach from the (expected) bottom teams?

The new set/atmosphere of the dive is crazy good. It would be fun if you guys did a role power rankings for every role as the season stands so far. Ex: River, Inspired, Exyu, Blaber, Contractz, Umpti, Bugi, Armao. It would be cool because I think all but the top two in jungle specifically are pretty interchangeable.
I think one point that you missed about 100 thieves is that they already played C9 and TL twice so the only top teams left they play again is NRG and FlyQuest so there chances of staying top 4 are pretty high.

On the point of burn out after 9 games, Spawn had a great point on Hotline League the other day when someone called about coaches. We have only seen 9 games but they have played at least 90 in scrims, not counting soloQ. There is a lot more we don't see than what we do. Remember that next time some Bo1 goes sideways.
Not just the actual scrims but the review between games. Imagine a 25 minute shitshow that you ff and your coach is on one so you do a 45 minute review. It's happened!
I mean my view of this would be like imagine practicing that much just for one random bo1 that goes wild to be the result. I feel like I'd feel burnt out from that without a bo3 for a better shot and feel and even practice in the moment

Do you guys think there will be any roster moves after the split or just not at all? And who do you think would be the ones most likely replaced I kinda lean towards like fake god and and maybe if there was some changes in tl cough cough they could be a broken team just curious on your thoughts and who you think might need to get thier act together?
Just some feedback, when starting to discuss a new team, it would be really nice to just flash a graphic of the current roster

4:50 the show matches in league have been some of the best games I’ve watched. The C9 old guard vs TSM old guard, the civil war (best show match ever). Zirene’s “deez nuts” joke kills me every time.
They are also just an easy way to get other content creators in! Bring in Esfand, bring in Tyler1, etc.

It's funny talking about TL playing "scaling" when they're pretty much playing what everyone else is playing, and no team is winning early game hard (so scaling is the meta)

Meteos hits the nail on the head. LCS does not have enough games to say what players or team capabilities are. Taking a break after just a few games is also ridiculous. As a fan I don't watch LCS anymore because you don't have a chance to watch more than 1 game of your favorite team. It is interesting for a team to bring out new stuff and adapt to the previous games. For NA viewers that don't have time to watch 3 games, just watch highlights. For serious fans, please bring back best of 3s.
Less teams, less time. Cant even play bo3. Really weird. They could legit have 2 bo3's on saturday, 2 on sunday and every team in the league would have played. Bo1 also leaves no room for innovation and adaptation but they never learn. Only when your very high in de standings can you pick off-meta or try some things out.
But does it really matter ? When you have a playoff spot regardless. I also dont get why they never tried to merge with latin america. You'd have 15 teams, round it to 16.
I think the scene would be popping off. Insted of 4 matches a day you would get 8. Or several bo3's every day like the LPL.
They dont like serious fans because there are not enough views for the 'bad' teams. And they care more about viewership then anything else.
@@jantjedoedelus8079not just “they” which I assume you mean riot care about viewership. Sponsors (aka how the league stays afloat) care about viewership. And even fans care about viewership. Some fans will see bad viewership and say meh league is dying and not worth my time and stop watching.
If you want Bo3s, we’d only have one matchup a week for your team. If you want two match ups and bo3s you would need 4 days which doubles the cost of an LCS which is already having some money issues.
People will say things like well LCK does it! Yeah LCK has more players and more fans in their region. Because of the amount of people participating in the ecosystem, they can afford to do this. NA doesn’t.

Not a big fan of comparing TLs gold lead at 14 from last year to this year. Saying they have similar issues is ok but gold lead at 14 is very different animal. Trading out summit for impact could be the gold diff alone. But wouldnt you much rather have impact late?
Also change of heralds also changes early gold too dont have hearald for plates
