I am absolutely certain I could do more with the Digitakt, and the sound quality of Elektron boxes really suits me. Nonetheless, the E2 and ES2 are dirt cheap on the used market, considering what they do. I have another video editing now, and it will be up in a couple hours. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the video. Im going to do this to my Blue E2... you made it look very easey. I heard it's possible to load the factory E2-S presets into the hack tribe, those word great for my RnB tracks i want to compose... Doesn anyone know how to load the e2-S factory presets into the hacktribe?
The switch was fairly straightforward. I think if I turn on my ES2 with no card in, it will load the factory data. Then, if I save it as a separate project file, I can use the editor to move the samples to their new slots. If this works, I can upload the file for you. Let me know if you install Hacktribe and I'll work on it for you.
To be honest, I don't think it gives any of the "Bluetribe" oscs, but it gives you 255 new, proprietary ones. With the original 19, 276 oscs in all. A lot of FM and X-mod waves, and a good amount of chiptune-esque waves.

Although according to a few users, the patched firmware on the E2 does not include any of the PCM samples but gains the sampling capability whereas the ES2 only gains the new oscillator and filter types. Can you confirm this?

This is really the major setback with this unit, to be honest. At the vary least, conditional triggers like the Elektron boxes would add greatly to the performance potential. Have you considered running it next to a tiny sequencer capable of more bars? Sequencing 8 of the 16 channels with a QY-70 or something would be very powerful.
@@danieklerr I have two live setups. Main one being DT2 driving a virus snow and iPad. 2nd setup is the EMX that I would have liked to partner with E2s. I did have an ESX that the EMX partnered with. But watching TWO ‘sequencers’ can make you go cross eyed. It does me at least. So at the moment I run the EMX with iPad running koala sampler. Channel 5 on the EMX has its level turned off and the keys in keyboard mode are all mapped to koala so I can trigger whatever sample. Koala has very few limitations and can happily trigger 8 bar renders I output from logic or Cubase or beatmaker 3 (iPad).
DT2 is the Digitakt II? I often miss the Virus, not only for the incredible editing options, but for those crispy oscillators. In fact, if the Modwave had the punchiness of the Virus or Nord it could be the most powerful synth ever made. Anyway, after writing that comment above -literally in the last ten minutes, haha, I got inspired and purchased a Yamaha QX5 to sequence my new Hacktribe. :)
@@danieklerr 😆. Yes the digitakt 2. Love the virus. I have the snow. I also use the OsTirus vst within DAW. It’s useful to audition sounds then export a sysex into the snow for live usage. Snow runs off power bank with ripcord.

I love to make patches then use the Force to create huge multisamples (keygroups) for use in other samplers. Loading these multisamples in the Modwave, I can add my custom wavetables as extra oscillators. I should do a video about it. Which power bank do you prefer, if you don't mind me asking? I've been having limited success with various purchases.
I cheated on this as I didn't do any of the steps. I just found both hacktribe firmware files from people who already made them... great features for sure. I have that editor and the regular editor, both work as long as all your wav files are in the right format.

75gb is a lot of samples. I've done up to about 1gb at a time using my method, but there may be issues working with that amount. At least a long wait, if nothing else.
I'm sorry to hear that. How recently did you try? When I decided to make the attempt I was prepared for problems the first time around. Favorably, it went smoothly the first time around. Anyway, if you tell me what steps you took perhaps I can help you isolate the problem?
I didn't find yours, but when I looked in my "held for review" section in Studio I found other Hacktribe comments with the note "blocked words" next to them.

its a little bit like a hybrid, but u cant get the clean sound out of it like the blue one , Its a good DLC for the red
I don't have an E2, but if I understand correctly the Hacktribe firmware is identical in both units. As in, they become exactly the same.

The new oscillators are not samples, but are added single-cycle oscillators in the new firmware. So there is no way to get them as samples, actually.

@@danieklerr I have a program that does that, and I have had to do that and it was excruciating with 75gb of sound samples
