    If anyone was wondering where my recent Gervonta defense highlight went, it was taken down a few days ago by Showtime so I thought I'd switch things up and make a new Shakur video. At just 25, Stevenson is already a 2 division champion and has become one of the most well-rounded fighters in the game. The scary part is he's only getting better! www.patreon.com/haNZAgod

  • @pushhard2
    @pushhard2 Год назад +2

    See what made Mayweather so great and unique is that his defense never relied solely on his foot work. It was and is the Philly Shell. Shakur's defense is in his legs. So when he gets older and his footwork gets slower he won't have as superb defense as he has now. And he'll be more prone to get hit with shots. That was the same case with Roy Jones. Once his legs went out so did his defense. Mayweather then and now could stand in front of an opponent and they couldn't do nothing with him. Not taking away from Shakur because he's a great master class talent but he needs add more upper body defense to his arsenal for when his legs and youth start to fade.

    • @shivekr4823
      @shivekr4823 Год назад +1

      RJJ ignored fundamentals and instead relied on his superb reflexes and speed. Shakur is technically very sound and while he doesn't hang out in the pocket, he still has a hand up protecting his face when he's backing up. Floyd is Floyd but let's see how Shakur does over the next few years.

    • @hansarabos1426
      @hansarabos1426 11 месяцев назад

      Floyd when he was already out of prime still use a lot of lateral circling pivot movement also add in some in and out bounce step and some footwork fake and feints your wrong as well Floyd use a lot his footwork just watch maidana 1 and 2 vs Pacquiao and he use a lot of footwork to defend against a aggressive counter puncher brawler

    • @pushhard2
      @pushhard2 11 месяцев назад

      @@hansarabos1426 Although in boxing you have to make some defensive moves with footwork you shouldn't be RELIANT on it. You're wrong because Mayweather said out of his own mouth ON VIDEO that he beefed up his defense because of not wanting to rely on his legs. Roy Jones said it his self that his legs isn't what it use to be. What are we talking about here?

    He doesn't seem to have as much wingspan or mass as Haney, who looked like a very big lightweight in his last fight, but Stevenson at least equals him in boxing brains, and isn't even anywhere near his peak. Add in that he has better "twitchies" as Max Kellerman calls them, and it looks like this kid could unify and reign for awhile, even in a very talent-rich division. Loma's great but definitely past prime. Garcia so far has shown a lot more skill than will. Kambosos reached or even exceeded his ceiling having a great night against an undertrained Lopez, and is probably no longer in the picture (if he activates his rematch clause with Haney, he's a fool). It's gonna come down to Davis, Haney, and Shakur, and I think Shakur is the last one standing when the smoke clears.

      @@vince11harrisfacts especially when you look at their styles. A patient power puncher vs a defensive wizard outboxer. Too many times we’ve seen the power puncher get beaten by the elite outboxer. Not saying that Tank can’t get Shakur out of there but it’s going to be very difficult.

    Completely unlikeable and for the most part unwatchable (unless he has the right opponent) but that there is the best defensive fighter in boxing today.

      Yeah idk his boxing persona reminds me of a cocky high school basketball player and his style is interesting when he fights a good opponent that stands a chance

    This isn't defense this is simply movement ..mostly backfoot..good fighter who fight this style are simply forgotten in history and they never get any credit because of lack of engagement...it make for boring forgettable fights..name one Shakur fight that stands out...and in the UK or Mexico Shakur might of lost that fight to santos and maybe concepion
