It's so easy to assign the universally comprehensible term, "10/10", to fragrances that work well for the functions we need them to, and especially for many, when others approve of our fragrance choice with a compliment.
For me, what allows a fragrance to ascend to the highest territory is a little more specific...but also a little more esoteric.
I know that's confusing. So I hope my explanation in this video makes it clear!

Scandal Parfum Cologne reminds me of a leveled up Xerjoff Fiero, just has that extra punch to it that pushes it to a 10

A 10/10 for Myself would be Amouage Interlude Black Iris. It’s Unique Captivating Smell Stands Out and Give an Unwavering Confidence.
I love it, I just personally can't pull it off. But I have a sample of it and sometimes just put a drop on the back of my hand and sniff it during the day... juicy, powdery, smoky... it's really a stunner.

I have the original Scandal and it was love at first sniff as they say. As for Fluidity Silver, that was one i had to learn to appreciate. I dont have the straight to heaven, but one of my first niche was Ursa from Tiziana Terenzi...and i LOVE that one
I've got a bunch of decants based on ur current niche recommendations. Mefisto smells great. Also happy to finally have Straight to Heaven since it's always OoS at Decantx. You'd think it was StH Extreme that was the one still in production with how I can never catch a decant
This is such an awesome short list. I own or have had samples of all of them and loved every one. I didn't pull the trigger on Tabac 28 last Sept as I simply was trying to decide where I would wear it; very realistic tobacco.
Though you tried to keep it simple, it's actually the most precise and sophisticated definition of a MASTERPIECE and a 10 OUT 10 Fragrances yet!

Recently revisited a sample of gris channel extrait. Had actually laid it off, but og god am i glad i came back.
Love the juicy fig with the powdery and dark undertones. Perfectly balanced, not to juicy not to dark

The seasons play for me. For spring is Ambra Calabria, Wulong Tea from Nishane and Tilia Cordata from Acca Kappa. Very cozy, feelings of life and inspiration. For summer is Bvlgari Tygar or something from aquatics. For fall is Micallef DesirToxic, Lalique Encre Noir A L'Extreme, YSL La Nuit De L'Homme and Nishane Ani. For winter it’s The Bianco from Giardino Benessere. Association of a frosty morning, a lot of snow and cleanliness with a cup of green tea.
I tried to get Tabac 28 at the Le Labo store in London and they said it only comes out in September in Miami. I’m definitely getting it this year.
I agree, that final point to get the 10 is the difference between just smelling amazing and actually affecting my mood and my mindset. its like a mood bubble, an olfactory film score to my day. But also, because its mood related and I am fickle an 8 or 9 today could be a 10 on the right day next week. One that always does it for me though is Anubis by Papillon; it is such an aptly named and atmospheric fragrance, perfectly evokes the dark and mystical feeling of an ancient egyptian deity. Love that stuff
Royal oud is good, but it is not 10/10 for me.
IMO the 10/10 scent MUST be something brand new and revolutionary and I can remember only 4 scents like that in my life... first is 1996 JPG Le Male, Dior Sauvage 2015, MAB Ganymede 2019 and Nishane Hacivat 2017.
agree in 98% with... haven't try Tabac 28, and still working on Straight to haven (I'm not much on patchouli). But the rest is amazing. A couple that I'll put in that list is Ganymede, and PDM Carlisle

Roja Isola Blu is my 10/10 - the citrus reminds me of the time l spent living in Sicily. Orange, lemon, and lime trees dot the landscape and the warm Mediterranean breezes deliver those scents everywhere. A Masterpiece!

I’ve been watching your videos for a few months and decided to try a few niche fragrances for the first time. NSo I ordered MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver, Nishane Wulong Cha X, and Acqua Di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Cipresso di Toscana. Received them yesterday and smell the decants and please. Looking forward to trying them on skin. Turn 50 this year and wanted to try something other than designer.

Ganymede by Marc-Antoine Barrois is a 10/10 for me. The scent is so different from where the mainstream is today. Mineral, almost metallic, but in a bright and pleasing way. Not for everyone, but for me it just gives me a bit of sass and boldness that sets me up for a busy day at the office.

Justin, have you ever tried Xerjoff Fiero? I think you would really like it. I find it similar to Scandal, not as dark though without the oakmoss, but a great scent in the heat. Bright and uplifting.

I have been looking for a fragrance that invokes the memories of the summer meadows with the drying hay and herbs for years. Then I found your channel and started looking at your content, and at a given point you mentioned a particular fragrance. I did not pay much attention then because based on the notes it looked rather generic and uninspired, and since i did not really have a chance to test it or sample it in my country, i said it's a skip for me.
But two days ago I entered a store where this beautiful bottle instantly caught my attention. First I hesitated, then I said maybe I should try it, it has to be good if you liked it that much. At the first sniff it brought up my childhood and the beautiful smell of the meadows with the thyme, some other herbs i could not define and a subtle hint of lemongrass (although it is not listed in the notes), and I knew this is my new favourite and signature (i have a collection of about 130 bottles of perfumes), so I really wanted to come here to say thank you for helping me find Frapin's L'Humaniste. I'm eternally grateful.

Jut sell the mancera. Very sweet and loud. The Parfum version of Scabdak is better, not the cologne version

Yes.. I totally get it.. MY 10/10 are "pieces of me" as you so put it.. As you talk about that part of the brain where words are inadequate there are just some frags that touch that part of the brain.. A couple of Mine are Creed Himalaya, Zaharoff Signature Citrine (Banana Republic Vintage Green is similar in that vein), Tom Ford Oud Wood, Tommy Hilfiger "T", and Penhaligons Endymion

I only have Kilian straight to heaven, the name so captivating especially the scent unique.
Royal Oud is incredible. I got 3 compliments just yesterday from it & I only nipped to the corner for some milk! But, although I love old school scents, I gotta say that scandal is too animalic for me & I've never understood the hype for Straight to heaven either. To me it smells like my garden shed, with an open container of fence preserver on a cold & damp winters day.

Idk what it is about Tom ford fragrances but when I wear them they get me. Beau de jour, ombré leather and oud minerale. I’d like to try the new oud wood bc I love the original however I can’t justify the cost vs performance
Hello and thanks for the video. I own and enjoy MFK's GF Silver. And I agree with the differentiation of Master piece and 10/10. I saw also the other video. Just to point a comment on Enclave: I tried it and liked it, but it didn't get further in my taste. I just don't have this wow! feeling that I get with Reflexion man or Overture. Thanks again.

Initio Paragon is my 10/10. A couple of months ago, I got a 5 ml decant of it from Decant X (thanks for the code Justin 😁), sniffed it and thought "wow this is beautiful".
I have this backpack, and for some reason, everything in it smelled amazing for a period of a couple of weeks, but I never knew why until I discovered that I had left the decant of Paragon in that bag and it had spilled a little. I went back to the sample and sniffed it again and was mesmerized. It is now unequivocally my favorite fragrance and the best thing I've ever smelled.
About MFK Gentle fluidity silver. Coriander witch smells a little bit like Cilantro 😅. It's literally the same. Just that the Americans call it cilantro while rest of the world call it coriander. Just different name. So you are right. It smells the same 😁 And it happens to be my favorite herb. Especially in Thai food 😍.
I know. But as you said, Americans know it as cilantro, and don’t know it by its other name. A majority of my viewers are American. So it was meant to be informative.
I see 10/10 fragrances differently. It more so is if it is perfect in what it does. Like blue de chanel is versatile, appealing and projects the perfect amount.

Your description of Tabac 28 makes it sound quite similar to Les Indemodables Vanille Havana (a 10/10 for me). Any feel as to that? Thx
Still haven’t tried that one. But Tabac 28 has very little sweetness, and by the sound of it Vanille Havane is quite sweet.
@@stayfreshproductions Yes. It is somewhat sweet. Not terribly or as much as some others. I came to it after trying so many of the same type: Tobacco Vanille, Herod, Red Tobacco, Chergui and more.

Soul Cafe from Savoir Faire - Alluring, captivating, sexy, unique. It's like the 1970s, prime Marvin Gaye music in a bottle.
2nd Soul - The perfect blend of an old and new school fragrance... a standout fougere.
Signature Rose - The best rose fragrance I've put my nose to.
Nazar Pie & Cognac and Vanilla X Fig from Xarmony Perfumes - Standout gourmands that do not get the true love they deserve in the fragrance community.
Zeus Zephyr from Chanceux Parfum - Fresh, aquatic, minty, with the right amount of fruits... such a fresh and clean fragrance for the warm weather.

GFS is simple but it has quality. A little too expensive especially for a 70ml bottle but theres a reason it can demand such a pricetag

10 (close to) 10/10 fragrances (nothings perfect) Orto Terroni Vertus Oud Noir Jovoy Incident Diplomatique and Psychedelique ( could have picked about 4 others from this house) Nasamotto Pardon Alghabra Ottoman Treasure and Istanbul Soul Tom Ford Noir PDM Pegasus exclusif and (call me a poser) Sauvage elixir. Need more stuff with Star anise. Smelling right helps me feel right. Like having the right clothes on. This is how I present myself to the world.

@stayfreshproductions I blind bought it. Not sure what to think of yet. Have worn it three times. It def not as beast mode as some people say it is, either that or the rumors of reforumulation are true (still pretty strong tho). It's boozy, resinous, sweet, with tons of patchuli.

Hi Justin. I know you have pounded on Dior’s Sauvage since its inception. I think your reviews on it can be hilarious when you try to remain objective. We get it-it’s not your favorite by any stretch of the imagination. Yes, everyone wears it, and it is precisely for that reason that I try not to wear it much at all. But when I do wear it, I totally understand why it’s been such a popular fragrance since it came out. Loud, obnoxious, overrated, basic, screechy… call it what you will, but I definitely think it’s a solid 10 out of 10. I feel amazing when I wear it. Interestingly enough, I don’t like it as much when I smell it on other people. But on me, I love it. The EDP is my favorite of the three non-elixir options.

I only have Royal Oud and Fluidity Silver in your list and those are also 10/10 for me. The best thing about them is their uniqueness. Aventus is too mainstream now but these two are nowhere to be found so much so I gatekeep their scents when my friends ask what I am wearing. Sorry but I didn't spend 1000's of dollars of my hard earned money to do the work for you in finding you your next signature scent :) . These are mine.

The problem I have with the entire 10/10 scale is that it seems that no one understands how it works, no matter what it is, looks, fragrance, drinks or whatever, if you use the scale using logic and the rules of the scale, by definition and logic, there can only be one 10 and one 1, since 10 is the total max and 1 is the total minimum. So it's not possible to have more than one 10, it can change, but never more than one. And when you say, for example, a man or a woman is a 6/10 on looks, everyone including them gets offended, when in fact 6/10 is more attractive than most people, so people don't seem to understand the enormous difference between an 8 and a 10. or a 4 and a 6. People need to start using the scale correctly for the scale to actually work as is intended.
Where are these rules published? Who said a 10/10 scale must function this way and only this way?
