  • We are trying out some TikTok food trends! These are 4 amazing snacks that you can try at home. How did they turn out?
    Recipes:
    Funnel Cake:
    Ingredients:
    ¼ cup milk
    1 egg
    1 tablespoon water
    ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 tablespoon granulated sugar
    ¾ teaspoon baking powder
    1 pinch salt
    ½ cup all-purpose flour
    4 tablespoons powdered sugar
    Instructions:
    1. In a large liquid measuring cup or batter bowl with a spout, whisk together milk, egg, water and vanilla.
    2. Add sugar, baking powder and salt and whisk until combined.
    3. Add the flour, and whisk until completely smooth. Set aside.
    4. In a medium, deep-sided pan or pot, heat 1" of oil to 375°F over medium-high heat. When you put the end of a wooden spoon in the pot and bubbles form around the spoon, it's ready. Reduce heat to medium.
    5. Drizzle batter from cup in a thin line, swirling around the pan and overlapping as desired. Cook for 2 minutes or until light golden brown, then flip and cook another 2 minutes or until golden brown.
    6. Dust with 2 tablespoons powdered sugar and serve. Repeat one more time with the remaining batter.
    Cowboy Caviar
    Ingredients
3 Roma tomatoes seeds removed, diced
    2 ripe avocados diced
    ⅓ cup red onion diced
15 oz black beans rinsed and drained
15 oz black eyed peas rinsed and drained
15 oz sweet corn rinsed and drained
1 bell pepper diced (color doesn’t matter, chef’s choice)
1 jalapeno pepper seeds removed, diced into very small pieces
    ⅓ cup Cilantro finely chopped
    dressing
    ⅓ cup olive oil
2 tablespoons lime juice (fresh preferred)
    2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
    1 teaspoon sugar
    ½ teaspoon salt
    ½ teaspoon pepper
    ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
    Tortilla chips for serving
    Instructions
    1. Combine tomatoes, avocado, onion, black beans, black eyed peas, corn, pepper, jalapeno pepper, and cilantro in a large bowl. Toss/stir well so that ingredients are well-combined.
    2. In a separate bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, red wine vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
    3. Pour dressing over other ingredients and stir/toss very well.
    4. Keep refrigerated. If not serving immediately, be sure to toss/stir well before serving.
    Pickles
    Ingredients
    10-12 pickling cucumbers
    4 cups water
    2 cups white vinegar
    2 tablespoons kosher salt
    1 teaspoon sugar
    big bunch of dill
1 head of garlic (skins removed, cloves smashed (less if its a strong garlic))
    10 peppercorn kernels
    Instructions
    1. Slice cucumbers into ¼ inch slices or spears. Set aside
    2. To make brine, combine water, vinegar, salt, and sugar in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil and swirl to make sugar and salt dissolve. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
    3. Add cucumbers to jars. Do not pack them super tight as you you'll want room for the brine. Add the fresh dill, smashed garlic, and peppercorns to the jars. Finish by adding enough brine to cover the cucumbers. Seal with an airtight lid and store in the refrigerator for at least one week. Pickles should be good for at least 4-6 weeks after that.
    Cinnamon Rolls
    Ingredients
2 tubes store bought cinnamon rolls
    1 cup heavy cream
    baking spray
    Instructions
    1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
    2. Spray large baking dish with nonstick baking spray and place cinnamon rolls in.
    3. Pour the heavy cream over the top of the cinnamon rolls and place in the oven for 25-30 minutes.
    4. Remove from heat and add icing on top.
    5. Serve immediately.

I love that cowboy caviar is becoming a thing now. My moms been making it for over 20 years! I have always loved it. She'd make it for parties alot. I think the pickles definitely need longer than 24 hours. The funnel cakes..I've made them with just pancake batter but I can never figure out how they get them to look like they do at the fair. Mine never stick together right like theirs do. Which seemed like yall had the same issue. Cinnamon rolls looked amazing but sadly I'm allergic to cinnamon 😭
But great video guys! Love yalls family videos on every single channel 🥰

    Nice to see you try!
As foodies and for glutenfree and lactose intolerance recipes, I recommend you to go rather for more classic or old fashion methods.
And to serve fresh fruit and/or vegetables, please be careful not to let each person take them with their hand.out of the bowl or jar.
And how about hand whipped cream? It allows you to determine the level or flavour of sweetness.
It might sound very critical, but you will enjoy the cook and the taste so much more.
Tip: carrots and cauliflower are easy and delicious to pickle.
But of course you cook for your family and their likings. Much succes and fun.
PS: as for the funnel cake, be sure that your milk/(sparkling) water to liquefy the batter and your oil have the correct temperature.

Not at least around here, at our fairs there will be both funnel cake booths as well as elephant ear booths. In South Carolina an elephant ear is a fried dough made with yeast and rolled out before frying. A funnel cake is a batter similar to a pancake batter and drizzled out of a funnel into hot oil to fry. Both can be covered in powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar or fruit toppings.

oh the pickles are from slvic cluture. in our polish household we do it all the time, maybe a bit diffrent, but it should stay in the jar for a few days, we sometimes keep it for the whole year, our grandmothers have a special room in each house where they keep about 100 of these jars. And yes, the salt make a huge diffrence
