  • In this video, I show you how to do all of the various maintenance on the new LG DLHC5502 heat pump dryer. Proper maintenance will keep it clean, dry, and lasting for as long as possible. One of the most critical modes is not activated by default on the unit, so near the end of the video, I show how to activate & run that mode.
Additionally, I suggest the frequency of all the various maintenance steps on the machine, so you have an idea when to do them. These frequencies are based on both LG's recommendations, and other recommendations for similar units and systems.
Tools I use in all videos can be found at my Amazon Idea Page: www.amazon.com/shop/bensappli...

Thanks so much for your review of this dryer! Everything you I learned from your review made it so I knew more than the appliance sales person who was trying to talk me out of buying anything LG and into a much smaller and more expensive Bosh or Miele ventless set.
It fits my needs perfectly as my dryer had to move since it was under my electric panel (and against code), and having an interior row home makes it so exterior wall space is a premium and I would have had to do some major plumbing work to move my laundry to another area of the basement

I like the fact this one allows pouring in distilled water for the flush cycle vs using hard water being fed in through the tap like the Samsung combo. Maybe makes no difference but I'd be concerned about limescale buildup on the spray nozzles and coils if tap water is used enough times.

Thanks for this video too! I ordered one yesterday after mulling it over with your last video on them. I'm currently having to replace my standpipe with a bigger one, since the old one was 1 1/2, and the washer/dryer will need a 2 inch. And once the new heat pump dryer is delivered, I'll need to seal up the hole in the wall. But then finally I'll be satisfied with my dryer!
Update: Replacing the stand pipe was... quite the ordeal. I just hope my handiwork pays off and it doesn't leak or overflow.

Hey Ben I have a Whirlpool model wrx986sihz02 refrigerator. I’m basing this question on on of your older videos (whirlpool refrigerator not cooling but bottom freezer works)
I had major ice buildup in the bottom of the freezer, so I unclogged the drain and flushed it. However the evaporator cover in the refrigerator section is still frosting over and it seems the temperature in refrigerator is a little warmer than it should be. In the video I referenced, you touched on the fact that the sensor may be bad. What is the next course of you would recommend me taking to resolve this issue? …. Your videos are great. I hope you can steer me towards a colder fridge

Just throwing this out to see if anyone knows. We just received the Samsung equivalent of this, the Wd53dba900hz. I would like to have the display plugged in as it has no buttons on it other than the Tizen based Smart AI Hub touchscreen. I am hoping that there is a secret way to get it into retail demo mode so the screen is on without the machine actually running. Would like to get both this and the Bespoke fridge with smart hub into retail demo, but have had no luck. Our Samsung rep seems to only be concerned with Samsung phones and doesn't put much effort into the appliances and TV's side of things. Anyone with knowledge on these, I would appreciate some ideas. Thanks!
