Emerl was being held in the Experimental Weapons Wing. The voice was the AI alerting Gerald that the Gizoid had breached containment.
1:11:41 Yeah, those were GUN soldiers glitching out because I think that one, Shadow doesn't want to remember like it kind of a repressed memory because he doesn't want to relive it because of the trauma in seeing how Maria got killed in front of him and because this game follows in the line of the solo shadow the hedgehog game he had amnesia. However, in the end, he recovered, getting some of his memories back, so he's still trying to remember all of his past, including the death of Maria and what he meant to her. Also, the GUN soldier on the right when it glitched out, you can see in a second that the soldier had an evil, sinister smile drawn on them because that's how Shadow portrays them as these evil monsters

Kirk learning about Shadow is really a good sign imo. We'll have to see, but I think knowing what character you're playing can make or break a performance.
While it's true Kirk joined the franchise at a time where Shadow's character was technically past the trauma, it certainly hurt having writing and voice direction that completely ignored all his emotional baggage. Shadow went through hell and back and survived, becoming a stronger person that decides his own path in life while honoring the memory of his one true friend from said past.
Must've been quite the shock for him to say the least, and I'm personally not looking forward to relive that level of safe and tropey character writing in Sonic's portion of the game lol
Words cannot explain how beautiful and well done this animation was, from the majestical and deep high stake style music, to the futuristic environment with amazing sa2 love letters that flow throughout, The extremely epic anime moments go so hard and I'm glad they chose it because it matches so freakin good with the sonic the hedgehog franchise since its all about speed and action, but this brings it to a much deeper level with multiple more layers! Maria's va is perfect for her and represents her sweetness and character. Kirk is doing so good now and perfectly resembles his deep desire to protect maria. And emerl.. DANNNNNNNNNNNG! The Poster Too though, its also fire! This animation literally made me cry. WE HAVE WON. WE HAVE REACHED PEAK. SEGA IS BACK. SEGA IS COOKING. And now, i would like to proudly make a big announcement, SEGA DOES WHAT NINTENDON'T
I teared up seeing this. Animation and music is incredible. The fact this is gonna be 3 parts too. Hearing what they said at the pan and how good it’s looking, So damn hyped 🖤❤️

Yo Sam hear me out. You think Emerl might be the 4th playable character in generations? Think about it: with his ability to copy characters moves/moveset? Hell you can see he kinda does so in the end of the preview with him mimicing shadows movements.
Kinda makes sense now, still rooting for maria too

@@EthanMallonee Y'know, for all the sh*t Origins got as a "definitive port", one thing it did right was having access to the animations via gallery from the get go.
This is why I don’t think the new VAs are bad, but just that they haven’t been able to reach their potential yet. For 13 years, SEGA has not done much to give them direction enough to properly encapsulate these characters.
Kirk is an amazing VA and he has been for long since before Sonic (go listen to his resume), but he’s been told to just play “an edgy antihero” without much nuance for 13 years, and so, for 13 years, that’s all he played. He was following instructions, WHICH IS WHAT A VA IS SUPPOSED TO DO.
For the first time, though, they’re actually directing him to explore Shadow as a character instead of a caricature. He finally gets to play Shadow The Hedgehog, not “some edgy loner who hates sappy stuff like friendship”.
I firmly believe if Kirk had this direction from the start (and if the games back then had better writing), people would not look down on him nearly as much as they do now compared to David and Jason.

And yes, Stephanie Sheh, Maria, was Zeena in Lost World.
She's known for characters like Hinata in Naruto and Orihime in Bleach. So her being cast as Maria was something we could already tell was a good use of her. Back in 2013 when I found out she was Zeena I was like "You cast Stephanie Sheh and waste her on someone like ZEENA!!??" lol Honestly I woulda thought she'd be Cream. lol
I have been asking for specifically the ROTTMNT and Monkie Kid people to make a Sonic show for years. The fact that it more or less actually happened is a literal dream come true. I hope they stick around for a long long time

I'd say that 06 is supposed to be a secret reveal.
Remember 06 got wiped by Elise so shadow technically never went there but who knows how they'll explain it
TA-kashi sounds more like what I suspect is the typical pronunciation. Same with his last name, emphasize the first syllable in a 3-syllable name. Like "ME-ga man" or "YU-gi-oh" or "NA-ru-to". I know the first example is English and is the western name for Rockman, but it follows that pattern and is an easy reference since people know the name.

since 2018, these sonic animations have improved drastically and I am here for it since the knuckles short I think leaning towards the anime route is the best option because it’s popular and gets more viewers potentially leading towards another sonic x down the road.

I'm so excited for this game! I hope in the future they'll make another Sonic anime. But, the one thing that's going to be annoying are the fans who ship Shadow and Maria and their gonna go insane over this.

You know I'm gonna be honest, after what they said about Shadow and Maria's relationship at the AX panel, I really can't help but think their relationship is literally just a dark, fucked up, and twisted version of Emily Elizabeth and Clifford

Little bit of overhype here. Kirk still sounded better in Forces, so that's still his best work to date (including all the dialogue heard from SxSG). From the sound of the animation, it, SxSG, and TSR (story voice primarily) will be tied.

Shadow being inspired by Vegeta, I don't see it. AT ALL.
I can see it being the only character you can compare Shadow to in character placement but Shadow's nothing like Vegeta. Imagine thinking Iizuka won't admit Shadow is inspired by Vegeta right after he clearly admits Shadow is inspired by Spawn.
I also think it makes just as much sense for Shadow to be mistaken for Sonic in his current design as Terios did because they the the design and the script were made to match each other. In the script, there's nothing indicating why Terios would have a scar on one eye. I'm tired of people saying this and worse, saying it like some new discovering when EVERYONE says it already. The only reason you're saying it is because you've spent 20+ years with Shadow and clearly view them as different characters. But if you'd never seen Shadow before then you'd be like "Is that some kind of Dark Sonic?" which is what a lot of people DID say in 2001. lmao
In fact, given the kabuki explanation of the colors, I could call Shadow "Kabuki Sonic". lol
Also the Hidden Palace mural theory makes more sense with Shadow than Terios.
Kirk not knowing more about Shadow isn't his fault. He voices many characters and learns what info they give him and direct him. Why go and look for content he doesn't know to look for when he barely voices him doing anything? Sonic fans are crazy. It's like with Pontaff. SEGA hired people who didn't know about the series. That's on them. They didn't give them more info than they felt Pontaff needed. And they, on their own, decided to go to wiki and youtube videos to learn more, which they aren't required to do and shouldn't need to do if you have a good overseeing person. And fans still blamed them for not researching "enough". None of the VA's knew that much about Sonic when they started working on it.
