When you're 20-maybe 30 something you mock then cause they're not as great as you wanted them to be when you worshipped then as teenagers and wonder why they wouldn't just practice more and get as good as the players in Megadeth. Then the 3rd stage of acceptance happens where you realize they are still great because of the 1st stage and you still kinda are that same person but you wanted to seem all more sophisticated and shit by liking music that's more difficult to play with an extensive chord vocab, extensive scale knowledge etc. But music is music and you're gonna die and it sure was music you loved and as a result it IS great. Well sort of...I went back and listened to Korn and I'll always think that was a retard move just to be cool. Metallica had some awesome shit.

He said that closing your eyes while playing can actually help you visualize the fretboard better, especially if you have played long enough to have a mental map of your fretboard in your head. It basically just lets muscle memory kick in, cause you’re not staring at your hands and questioning what to do next.
2022 has really proven this band is VERY serious about what they do. This is probably the tightest they've played since the late 80s, and I've watched thousands of hours of concerts, and seen them live many times. They have played with hunger. The same hunger they had when they didn't have two nickels to rub together.
It's mortality that they feel, and they want to soak up every moment, and pay their respects to the past... as if they're almost haunted by it. I wouldn't want to go out any way either if I were them. They've conquered it all.

He’s still going today and has chops, and they forget that he MADE these solos. Kirk Hammet gets so much hate unfairly. Hes one of those people that folks love to say is "overrated", but it gets said so much that hes actually become criminally "underrated". Hes a phenomal guitar player.
I think some of the hate is justified. I say some because you can't say he is overrated. He was one of the best players of his time and wrote some incredibly melodic and deceptively tough solos. He also wrote some great riffs back in the day. Definitely not overrated. His current degradation and dumb comments about not writing solos anymore or caring about what's playing underneath are a bit weird, especially given what he has written in the past. I think the hate he gets there is fair.

Kirk is like a streaky shooter in basketball, he doesnt always hit his shots, but those nights when he feels it, LOOK OUT! He was absolutely ripping here!
I’m always amazed how often he gets talked bad as a guitarist. He’s not even in top 50 guitar players of all time but he’s a master on the guitar and definitely has his own identity. He’s also one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.
I think most of the bad opinion that people have is based on his overuse of the same blues licks, and I tend to agree with that. After Justice, his style did get boring, but he seems like an alright dude

I’m always amazed how often he gets talked bad as a guitarist. He’s not even in top 50 guitar players of all time but he’s a master on the guitar and definitely has his own identity. He’s also one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.

I think most of the bad opinion that people have is based on his overuse of the same blues licks, and I tend to agree with that. After Justice, his style did get boring, but he seems like an alright dude
