- Welcome to this video where I look at Fujifilm style film simulations on the Nikon cameras. I chat about why and how, and include examples. Of course, we can shoot raw, and that is easier, but I address that in the video.

All views and opinions are my own, I love feedback, and would like to know if there is a Nikon community like the Fuji community that are interested in this sort of thing.
You can find the full article with sample images at onecameraonele...
this is way cool. i actually don't even use the nikon samples but mostly because i forget or i prefer it as it is. i find that after trying out different sample or editing, i always come back to the original.
While I was looking to do this with presets in NX Studio, I really like what you did here and even mentioned the overall process.
Thank you 🙏
ThankYou !!! Been shooting Nikon since 1968... Luv the mirrorless !!!!! I look forward to Your furure vids !! chin down, or higher camera angle ,, My Friend :) :) :)
Thank you, yes! I realised the head positioning after this video 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for this. I am in transition to Nikon and I am struggling to let go of my X-T5 thinking I need it for this type of creative photography. This shows me there are other options.
Thank you, it can be nerve racking when changing systems, but don't be afraid, Nikon is everything and more!
Hi. I’m sincerely interested in your reason for switching to Nikon from the X-T5. What prompted you to make the change?
Absolutely love the grading! Thank you so much! 😇
Thank you 🙏
I haven't put my Zf down since I've had, love love love it.
It's an excellent camera!
Just found a recipe for my OM5 that does Porta 400 pretty damn good. Will look on your website for my zf to see I can find something similar.
Thank you 👌
Excellent video 😊!
Interesting, gonna have to give this a try, well done!
Thank you 🙏
Great stuff Mark!
Thank you very much 🙏
That Zf has me very tempted 😮. I like Nikons approach
Go for it!!!
@@OneCameraOneLens I want to pair a Voigtlander to it. What would you recommend for a long zoom? Under 1000
I'm happy with my 70-300, but there is plenty of choice out there.
@@OneCameraOneLens Z mount?
I use an F-Mount version with the FTZ adaptor.
Thanks for the tips 👍🏻
Thank you 🙏
Many people just want to press the button.
Just like GR camera Fuji is the choice.
And just like Nikon... And the others really
Hi! I’m using a D3400. Did you make any tweak with the standard picture control or you left it as is? Also, have you tried using Neutral or vivid before applying the film simulations? If so, do you have any results to show? Thank you!
All changes to each one is in the link below. I don't use neutral or Vivid, but I will look into it
@@OneCameraOneLens Alright. Now I get it. You’ve just used Nikon Standard as a comparison. I’ll keep an eye on your new recipes and hope you’d include picture controls available for old dslr models 😅. Thank you and keep it up sir!
you do not seem to know that Nikon is also offering (free of charge) the Nikon Picture Control utility software, allowing you to edit the picture controls.
It is great, and I use it very often. Something others should try 👌
Hi Mark, this sounds/looks very interesting. I've been thinking of upgrading my camera to x-t from Nikon D7000 but van find no real justification! BUT... my laptop is a MacBook Pro from early 2013 and NX Studio is apparently not compatible. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
If you're just after film simulations, the easiest method is to use an editing package and use LUTs (you can Google the different film simulations and get free versions).
@@OneCameraOneLens Thanks a lot. I'll try this with an old version of Luminar Neo I have, or perhaps Darktable 😊
Only problem is the Nikon Picture Controls does not let you adjust colors in any way besides saturation. I've made several custom picure controls with the Nikon pc app but it's too bad there is no way to tweak the colors.
It's surprisingly versatile, with host of different options, hue changes, strength of effects etc. It's actually very good.
Is there any way to recreate nikon's dusk/dawn scene mode on the fujifilm x-t20 custom film recipe?
I will have to look into it.
@@OneCameraOneLens Thanks. I loved that scene mode on my nikon coolpix s5300!
Why would Nikon not let us delete the OOTB color profiles that no one uses and let us put our own in that place? I know you can add your own. But now it gets too cluttered.
You be the base colour profiles, and they very handy. Having the 10 colour profile spots, all named with examples in camera is excellent though, I don't find it too cluttered using the wheel to scroll through them.
Hey, when these are gonna be available for download?
Sorry, I've been pretty ill, plus the kids have been off for school holiday. My plan is to get 12 Nikon Colour Profiles out this week. Thank you.
Can this be done on DSLR like D70?
I used to do it on my D3200 and D5300,b I'm not sure about the D70 sorry. Should be somewhat possible though I should imagine.
I tried it on zfc and was not impressed but will try again
I'm hoping to bring recipes to Nikon that will be better than what's out there now, although there are some really good ones. Early tests are promising.
@@OneCameraOneLens good to hear you are working on recipes. Question: will it have WB shifts saved? Coz that's make Fuji sims unique..
@@nivin3 I want to avoid white balance shifts, and the Nikon picture profiles are good enough to avoid those. Check out my latest blog on onecameraonelens.com or the images in this video and you'll see what can be achieved without using them.
If I have to though, I will use WB shifts.
@@OneCameraOneLens thanks waiting for your final results I'm diving into ZF next week with 24-120
@@nivin3 Enjoy! It's a great lens.
Do you have Trinidadian roots
Lol. I'm Welsh.
Or just sell your Nikon stuff and buy Fuji. It's easy!
