They reactivated it to catch all the bad reviews coming after this video. In a month they will delete this one again and reinstate the one with the good reviews. Can't say the owner isn't a smart kind of thief.
I've seen this a couple of times now: beware if the average rating is exactly 4.6 stars!! For some reason, the bots/AI systems of review sellers seem to have that set as a target value, and will stop buying more 5-star ratings once 4.6 is reached. (Because, 4.7 is too good to be true??). So, if a place, service or product has an average of exactly 4.6 stars, that's kind of a red flag by now! Make sure to go and check the distribution: if it's only 5 stars or 1 star reviews. they most likely bought positive reviews. -- And of course, check if tons of Muslims rate ham/pork stands overnight ;)
It's very rare to see bulk 5-star reviews. If the business is legit, you should also see a good number of 4 and 3 star reviews unless the business is truly exceptional (quite rare)
We were in Prague in 2019, and ate there. We had heard about their weight system, so we asked for a portion for a specific amount of money. The staff weren’t very happy, but they did prepare portions for the money we offered.
To be frank, as Indonesian I find its quite expensive for us to go travel to Europe. We had a lot of demographic-economic issues in here, so travelling isnt something that really to be priorities in our daily life. Yes some of Indonesians would be able to afford travelling around the world, but even most of them were really doing careful budgeting in advance, the currency ratios are so high for most of us (1 EUR : 16.000 IDR) so eventhough we are able to travel to europe, Im pretty sure most travellers from Indonesia would kinda be "cheeky and cheap" with travels spendings. Looking how weird all those comments were, thats not real. Its just showcased how fragile our internet reviews service really are.

Love this! You get a gold star. My "favorite" fake review spot is Audible. I often buy some niche-specific literature that has been "contributed to" by some authors whose poorly thought out pen names often combine or loosely mimic names of legit authors in the field. Their works are little more than regurgitations of information easily obtained online or through minimal experience, yet the titles and keywords can garner a look. Reading the reviews is entertaining for its cringiness alone. There will be clusters of glowing (and obviously fake) reviews interspersed with the occasional real one (which either points out that other reviews are fake or how poorly done the "book" really is). Why can't they just put their energy into making a legit profit?

Reviews are a minefield. It's so difficult to find truthful reviews. Whether you're trying to buy something small, big, go somewhere it doesn't matter. The fake reviews are everywhere.
Love your show. I usually don’t go to places that have lots of positive reviews from people with one review. This is a red flag that those reviews are more than likely fake. We will be in Prague in the next couple of weeks and we will look for you there. Thanks for the great content.
My wife and I have a Penzion in the Beskyds. We have a 9.2 rating. I swear it would be 9.8 if we disallowed Germans. Most common complaint, the beer - not enough selection. We serve Pilsen and Radegast. Really? Different problem, but you are right in that the ratings matter. However, I don’t think we will turn to Indonesia for help. Thanks for what you guys do. I am a big fan.
That's actually quite funny to hear from Germans, considering that if you visit the beer capital Bavaria, they will serve either weissbier or standart helles, which might come from 2-3 breweries, but the taste is nearly identical lol. If you go to some exotic place, the might even have dunkle, if you're lucky. Belgian beer > Czech beer > German beer anyways ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Worth noting that although you asked people not to review these stands without going there something people can do is flag those dodgy reviews. More flags, more likely they get removed.
Lmao I looked the place up, and a review from a week ago called it a tourist trap and a scam. The owner replied: "Dear Sir. Please refrain from this false review and abuse. Compared to the nearby establishments, our ham is considerably cheap in spite of its high quality. In one of the unnamed businesses nearby, which often gets promoted by a youtuber that you may know well, 100 g of ham costs CZK 145, here it is CZK 119. So, please do not engage in unfair practices and lies."
I've been to Prague three times and always avoid the restaurants around that square but did try a trdlo ice cream from .U Lužického semináře, 118 00 Malá Strana, Czechia the filling was ok but the rest was s****. I always find the best places are a few streets from the main drag and if the locals drink and eat there it must be good.
Just wanted to leave a review of this stand, as I indeed visited it with my ex-girlfriend already a while ago. So I indeed could leave a review. It seems like, they took down any information on google, so leaving a review is not possible anymore. Back then I saw that 100g are quite expensive already, but as she wanted to have Prague ham, we decided to buy one portion for the taste and eat something normal somewhere else. I thought one portion would be 100g, so I ordered one, and got a huge portion and it was expensive. Luckily I was not alone, so we could finish it, but yeah, I felt scammed. It tasted okay but was definitely not worth the money. For less, I could have eaten the best steak in town and been full.
I went to one of those ham stands years ago and got a LOT of ham. I'm a big guy so I ate it, but for people under 100kg it might have been a little overboard. Statistically, those reviews are quite unlikely. Heaven on Earth is a bit hyperbolic but it was tasty enough
I have worked in a really terrible Hostel in Prague during my first year here when I was a student. It was so bad and the owners were thieves and I could see them writing fake reviews all the time. Even time to time people from Hostelworld and Booking and other platform were calling them cause of the amount of complains, but to not get kicked of such platforms they had to always put 5 stars and to us it as a fake argument "Well we had happy people staying in". They have changed their Hostel name and made the new one sounds like a new Hostel and yet the reviews are still going down and yet there are new fake reviews.
In my opinion, yours is one of the best channels on youtube, I wish there were more like this, keep it up, God bless you and your team and give you health, wealth and help in all you do. Thanks!
Having been to Prague a lot of times I can tell you this: A LOT of stands and stores in your city is there to scam tourists! Now I know this is not due to people in the city being bad people - however there are some of you who make a whole lot of money doing this! The first time we were there we seriously got scammed several times - including one of these crap places. We did however see through the currency exchange scams which happened ALL the time in the mid 90's when we were first there. These days it's rarer - but still happens WAAAAYYYYY to much! These days the biggest issue is that you have to be skeptical about everything when visiting Prague and ask questions confirming the price of stuff. There is so many people trying to trick you instead of doing honest trading, and apparently the government does nothing to stop it. It's kinda sad because I love 98% of what Prague has to offer - it's just the last 2% that ruins it the experience and makes you paranoid about constantly checking if you are getting scammed.
You have a really friendly way of talking about this kind of work. Careful and considerate . Thank you! The way in which you show us the obvious fake is also funny and ironic. It is a pleasure to listen to this detective novel. I saw it on TV once how companies buy these reviews to ameliorate their business. With sport shoes or expensive things it is no more fun.. There is also software you can buy and robots are writing the reviews
I am Indonesian and I went to Prague in June 2022. I have also a client there who has a villa resort in Bali, Indonesia. Also I know a woman who marry a Czech man.
there's something even better: Report those obviously fake reviews to Google. If you're a Google Scout with sufficient high rating, you're able to remove those 1-review-only reviews or mark them as fake yourself
I would take those reviews on the internet with a very large grain of salt. When I go to another city, Rome for example, I never base my choices according to reviews because they are fake and unreliable.
I usually watch the bad reviews, they're more interesting than the 5 stars. Once I saw most of the negative reviews on a pub because the waiter didn't came at their table. When there litterally little plaques everywhere with "counter service only". I did try there and wasn't disappointed 😃
What a coincidence. Last week we were in Prague and I told our friends about the portion-scams. We passed by and I still saw the big portions but not many people buying anything. So yes, I could confirm this scam is still going on.
Agree with most things said here as well as in almost all of yours posts, however eventhough everytime I come to Czech republic I am aware it's a rip off to taste a Prague ham, but no matter how much it costs I'd pay for a taste of it, and this is coming from a guy raised up in Serbia not from Indonesia. What i I'd like to find out from our video is where could people find a true Prague ham apart from city centre?
Ok there's now 3 stands in the square. One has review of 1.1⭐, another has 4.8⭐ and the third has 1.2⭐ Edit: Lmao I just found this response from the owner to a bad review on the stand: "We are truly sorry, but the reality is very different. Our special dish is very popular and many people appreciate it. Perhaps, the great demand for our ham has inspired envy in some individuals, so much so that we have fallen victim to false negative reviews. Please come and try our ham yourself :)" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Edit 2: And now only 1 stand!
I think there are quite a decent number of Indonesian that travel to Czechia since there are a lot of Indonesian studying in German but I think one of the reason of why there are so little Indonesian tourist on the data is probably because Indonesian is usually travel Europe on multiple countries so they probably go into Czechia using land border from another schengen country like Germany so it probably won't be inputted on the data.
I remember once when i went to Prague and i saw so many "excellent" reviews, i specifically remember one review on some small café in Prague's old town where about 60 out of the 65 or so reviews were rated 5 star and all were phrased very very similarly. When i came to Prague in the summer of 2019 out of pure curiosity i wanted to go to that café and when i went out of my hotel and searched it up on google maps to find my way there it was nowhere to be seen, simply bizarre...
You're doing a great service with exposing these scams. I don't eat pork so I'll of course avoid it. :) But you're doing an incredibly important job, and for that I thank you!
It's interesting how this varies from country to country. I spent two weeks in Greece 4 years ago and the biggest problem there was also getting too much food but it was always my fault because I assumed that if a meal was cheap there would be small portions. So the first few times I got portions that were too big until I recalibrated my expectations of Euros to portion size (yes you can get a good tasting Gyro that will fill you up for less than €3). I've not been to Prauge since 15 years ago so I can't say much about the food there beyond saying that the one bad experience I had on that 19 day trip to Eastern Europe was with a Prague restaurant that had high prices and bad service despite supposed good reviews.
This video is an absolutely ridiculous scam! our, I mean the Prague hams food is absolutely perfection, you can get the portion size you want, if you ask for it. I told my friend about this place and now he goes there everyday!! Me and my friend will always visit the hague pram from Indonesia.
If ur honest ..then I am sorry your taste buds like old dry overpriced meat. When u could get the same thing better cheaper, one block away! So yeah. .seems like a lie
I remember the time when me and my gf were travelling around the world, having all kinds of experiences, not the least of which were threesomes with local hotties. Until recently I thought this experience can't be beaten. But then I visited this ham stand. When I was finally able to regain myself after chumming on their ham, I asked with tears dripping from my eyes 'sir, I understand that this slice of heaven can't be cheap, but I only have like 5k kronas on me, I will probably just leave you those and go looking for an ATM to cover the remainder'. The guy laughed 'please sir, it only costs 89 kronas per 100 grams, so for your standard 5kg serving it will be 4450 kronas, you have more than enough money'. Words can't express the gratitude I felt for the trip to heaven that this humble kind man took me on, barely charging me for it. Old Prague Ham FTW.
Prague is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Vienna is the same, but I don't compare. What do they have in common? Safety, tourism infrastructure, friendly people, historical places, culture. The food has German, Austrian or Hungarian influences, even if the Czechs consider some recipes to be theirs. I am neither Austrian, nor Czech, nor Hungarian. But if I had to choose tomorrow, I would move to Prague immediately!
hi i'm from indonesia i really enjoy eating this video it's very irresistible and the most delicious video i've ever had i can choose the portion of the video that i want it's perfect it's like heaven on earth⭐⭐⭐⭐🤣
I just went to Google Maps to look for this place. I don't know if the recent reviews have been taken down or what, but Old Prague Ham at this location has one star for 17 reviews.
I lived for about 4 months in Prague 8 and then I moved to Klecany for another 8 months. I walked passed those ham places a lot of times and I am glad I never stopped to eat there.
After only using Yelp a few times, I started to understand how many restaurants do these kind of fake reviews and it's staggering. It's everywhere, all over the world, probably every town/city. They are so easy to spot, though, as most of the bad restaurant owners are also terrible at writing them and most people doing honest reviews actually type quite well.
The review i wrote on google maps: Visited in 2012. Has been a long time true. But got ripped off since I had to buy a large portion for way too much money. Hopefully they changed their scammy ways, but just be cautious that you dont get ripped off by them if you decide to go there. Ask for a slice worth approximately the price you want to pay and dont get pushed into buying more than you need. Same as if you buy vegetables. If you ask for half a kg of carrots dont go away with 2kg of carrots because they tell you they filled a 2kg bag. Taste is good but then again, an oyster also taste good, unless you have to buy 3kgs of oysters and pay 300euros for it
im sure the ham is ok if not great, but tastes like heaven? or authentic to a specific region? a chunk of ham and some bread??? ive never been to Prague, and im sure they are know for more than a chunk of ham. i discovered this channel today and i love this guy and his work.
So I used to work for a place that did black hat SEO and this is pretty common. If the reviewers are from Indonesia, the Philippines and India they tend to be fake because there's a bunch of pods there that'll do this work for businesses that pay for it. This is also why before I buy a product I check to see reviews and what the history of those reviewers are. 1 review only positive is usually a red flag. Same thing works on Reddit too for companies that pay to get their brand dropped on Reddit communities.
As more and more Indonesians are coming to Czechia, I think the data is most probably very inaccurate due to the fact that most of them are probably Indonesians who are already living in the EU/Schengen area like myself. It’s even harder to keep track the people who are not staying in a hotel or only doing a day trip from other countries like Germany and Austria.
We have similar places in Poland- Kraków Market Square, especially during xmas time. Meat is there overpriced, although I haven't noticed ham but there is sausage and pork knuckle(golonka) sold by weight. In my opinion 80 złoty for an average portion is way too much(around £14).
It's rating is at 3.2 with 207 total reviews, many seemed were added soon after this video was posted. I hope number of honest and true reviews will eventually bring its review to appropriate rating. The only thing the owner should do is always ask all its customers "How much do you want?" and sells only how much they want. Then no one would feel cheated and enjoy its product as its claims.

Even if you do that, 90 CZK for 100 g of ham is ridiculously expensive.
Also, why support such a scam business?
Yea we all know you cant afford it

HONEST GUIDE - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I do not frequently leave reviews but simply I had to for this RUclips channel. I was struck by how amazing this channel is. *I love* the way HONEST GUIDE do their videos. It is so authentic. The production, the presentation, the smell of the presenter, watching his videos is like heaven on earth. No matter how bad the weather is, he is very kind and friendly and in my opinions his prices are cheap, solely up to you how much you want to watch. You will pay equally to the watch time. *My friend* recommend me this channel and it was the best thing to happen to my life. It is a mastery. Well done. I will come again in the future. Thank you.
"Very friendly staff, amazing smell, in payment for the ham they accepted my stack of invalid belarussian rubles in 1:1 weight ratio!"
Thankfully Honest guide doesn't need fake reviews. They prevented me from getting scammed many times.
Plus the host is good eye candy.
5/5
We where there, several times in Prague, smells heavenly, tast well, cost way to much, an sellers are the most chancharine people you'll ever met, once tricked, will never happen again. BUT Prague is a great city, one big museum, worth te visit. This channel will make our next visit even better, great job guys.
Absolutely awesome work man, I support your work towards a more HONEST prague.
there are so many groups in indonesia that sell subscriber and review. the price is cheap and they are structured group. its kind of popular side job in indonesia
wow.. Could the world become any more fake?? Now I can't even trust reviews and I'll never even bother with them from now on. Seems quite worthless..
This video was very hammy, it was like Heaven on Earth. You can determine just how long you want to watch, it was great 5 stars.
This is one of your greatest videos ever made. Keep up the good work guys, love your channel.
Indonesia - The Nigeria of Asia!
As indo, i disagree
Honest Guide -- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A friend recommended this channel and I couldn't believe it. Their reviews are so delicious! Like heaven on Earth! I always stop by when I visit RUclips.
Brother destroys the ham stand frauds and then tells everyone to come buy their hams anyway. Classy touch! 😆
Probably the ham stand reached out and made a lucrative, irrefusable offer 😆
I'm Indonesian born & raised. I can tell u the most unbelievable part of those reviews from "Indonesians", is how perfect their english were 😂
Reviews are a minefield. It's so difficult to find truthful reviews. Whether you're trying to buy something small, big, go somewhere it doesn't matter. The fake reviews are everywhere.
I'm orering them by lowest rating and read two of them, to see what the problems are.
What angers me most about the manipulated feedback on Google is the fact that they managed to get at least 70 of the real reviews deleted.
Very amusing, love your sarcasm! I'll avoid them in May when I visit.
Worth noting that although you asked people not to review these stands without going there something people can do is flag those dodgy reviews. More flags, more likely they get removed.
Tourist be aware and thanks again for your useful research against dishonest vendors.
No joke this is the best video I have watched all week, love your content
This investigative journalism is better than the big new companies. Thanks for the entertainment and useful information
Lmao I looked the place up, and a review from a week ago called it a tourist trap and a scam. The owner replied:
"Dear Sir.
My gf and I got scammed on that. Was told I had to pay $35 by surprise, and I had no choice but to pay $35 for a slice of ham. F that place.
For less, I could have eaten the best steak in town and been full.
you should see the reviews to this day, every one star they reply to say that they are wrong and partly calls out Honest Guide for the 1 stars
I actually was in Prague last week and even saw you! But when i wanted to leave a review i couldn’t, it seems like he deleted his location
That's why I always read mostly the negative ones first. If they are always about the same problem or just random problems by Karen's
I am Indonesian and I went to Prague in June 2022. I have also a client there who has a villa resort in Bali, Indonesia. Also I know a woman who marry a Czech man.
I miss the fact that you didn't think about travelrestrictions due to the pandemic at the time the reviews were written.
Smart move to make us finally go to the ham stand. You teamed up obviously!
there's something even better: Report those obviously fake reviews to Google.
I find that people only write reviews when they have something to complain about.
I usually watch the bad reviews, they're more interesting than the 5 stars. Once I saw most of the negative reviews on a pub because the waiter didn't came at their table. When there litterally little plaques everywhere with "counter service only". I did try there and wasn't disappointed 😃
Main question is what happen with negative reviews? They removed his pin from Google Map and create new one?
It looks like the place is taken down from the Google Maps now. They were obviously fake and the place never smelled good.
What a coincidence. Last week we were in Prague and I told our friends about the portion-scams. We passed by and I still saw the big portions but not many people buying anything.
So yes, I could confirm this scam is still going on.
You should review that, and ask some photograph from some buyer and make the review about fake review and scam. It won't be deleted.
I agree !! I always get some with a beer, and just enjoy it 🤷♂️
Yes he has videos on restaurants serving this for half price and twice as much just close by
God I love your pettiness 🙌👏👏👏
Ok there's now 3 stands in the square. One has review of 1.1⭐, another has 4.8⭐ and the third has 1.2⭐
Edit: Lmao I just found this response from the owner to a bad review on the stand: "We are truly sorry, but the reality is very different. Our special dish is very popular and many people appreciate it. Perhaps, the great demand for our ham has inspired envy in some individuals, so much so that we have fallen victim to false negative reviews. Please come and try our ham yourself :)"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Edit 2: And now only 1 stand!
Děkuju! Milujete Prahu jako já👍 Great journalism
I would like to thank you for your honest , sincere and friendly videos . I just subscribed to your channel. Greetings from Montreal Canada.
I am from Prague, but even that doesn't stop me from watching this channel all the time. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It's like a Nepalese Buddhist traveling to Spain specifically to watch a bullfight and being elated by the wonderful colours displayed by the Matador
You're doing a great service with exposing these scams. I don't eat pork so I'll of course avoid it. :) But you're doing an incredibly important job, and for that I thank you!
Indonesian here, I didn't even know that Prague is a touristy place before I stumble your channel lol, keep up your amazing content.

@@Croat955 ur mom
Lol, I think Google should update their reviewing system first; Google knows where you went or not!
I have to say… the ham MUST be crazy good if it can get Muslims to eat it 😂🤣
Wow! Such a great investigation! Thank you guys for putting so much time and effort to expose the SCAM!
Haha damn this made me rethink about google reviews and stuff I usually check there first almost always
You Should meet up with Bald and Bankrupt to do a video walk about ;)
That would be awesome!
Just went on google maps. 31 reviews, 1-stars. I guess your video worked :) Well done!
hi i'm from indonesia i really enjoy eating this video it's very irresistible and the most delicious video i've ever had i can choose the portion of the video that i want it's perfect it's like heaven on earth⭐⭐⭐⭐🤣
I purposely avoided this place thanks to the previous video. Keep up the good work.
The review i wrote on google maps:
Visited in 2012.
Taste is good but then again, an oyster also taste good, unless you have to buy 3kgs of oysters and pay 300euros for it
On my way to the ham stand, cant wait to leave a review
im sure the ham is ok if not great, but tastes like heaven? or authentic to a specific region? a chunk of ham and some bread??? ive never been to Prague, and im sure they are know for more than a chunk of ham. i discovered this channel today and i love this guy and his work.
as a Muslim, I laughed when you mention honza asking the important question about Indonesians buying ham
Sorry, Janek... I am vegetarian ;-) But 4 years ago I was one of the tourists in Prague, and the sausages were great, anywhere.
I just searched for it on maps and could not find it where it should be. Guess the owner does not like criticism. Good job!
its back again with a 4,4 Rating ;)
I love this video! By far your best work on my opinion! Also very clever and entertaining to watch.
Love this video, you went so deep :))
I love this channel. The name suits it. Keep it up guys!
The Honest Guides do more for Cech tourism that the government! Good job guys!!
Your videos are so much fun. I hate scams.
Go Indonesia!!. We have all kinds of bots here 😂
