Great video!! I have tried all of the hitches out there and Shocker is my favorite, which I get the best results from. My bumper hitch shocker is normally run around 25-30# towing 7000-8000#. My gooseneck shocker with my 30’ hydraulic dovetail dual wheel trailer I am around 20-25# empty which takes the jerking and bucking out of this trailer, and then adding 8000-9000# to the trailer I’ve found 50-60# is pretty good. I use airlift wireless compressor with in cab remote for my Ram 3500 airbags, and also for my GN Shocker hitch airbag. I also added the app and you can control the air adjustments from your phone app while driving.
So, I'm sure someone has already suggested it, but Airlift makes a wireless remote air compressor setup on my truck. I can adjust the air pressure while gong down the road. may be something to look into! Keep the videos coming!
I’m looking at another piece of land near the Rocking K, the owner hired a company to reduce fire fuel load and paid a huge amount. The crew left a huge mess, and the owner is now dropping the price of the land due to the mess the new owner will have to deal with, it’s so bad, it might be a deal breaker😳. It so refreshing to see good people doing good work, taking pride in what they do. Keep up the great work boys! Boone and Emma are part of the crew and obviously run a tight ship. Thanks for sharing Sam👍👍👍🇺🇸
For my truck airbags I have on board air and a low pressure high flow regulator in the cab. Keeps pressure the same even when the bags are compressing or extending. For your hitch bag you would need a higher pressure regulator. Go for a high flow, won't hurt a thing and may help. I paid 70 bucks for mine. They have gone up in price since two years ago. Marsh Bellofram brand.
Thanks for the idea of adding onboard air for the shocker. I run a 36' PJ hydraulic dovetail behind my 14 ram 3500 with an aisin. After watching this video I ordered a airlift wireless one compressor with remote and wired it up. I can now adjust the air in the shocker while I'm driving down the road. A lot of time saved by not having to pull over and adjust the air. Thanks
I’ve become addicted to watching your channel.. it’s a good change from all the show truck type youtubers. You show the real work and I love it, while I love show trucks as you can see mine in profile pic I also love work trucks doin work!
I’m hauling a load of piñon firewood back from NM to dallas right now right. I weighed 20,660# empty this morning and weight 46,360 once loaded. Truck is a 2017 Ram 3500 limited with same configuration as urs. Trailer is a 36’ Load Trail with 15k axles. I’ve got 70 psi in the shocker now. It’s been great all day until I just got on some rough highways. Going to put more in @ nxt stop
God afternoon, saw that you did a review on the shocker and the gen-y-hitch. I drive hot shot and I pull from 8,000 to 26,000 lbs. Which one do you recommend?
I have a 38ft 5th wheel with a 5th airborn hitch. I welder that sucker closed and put a ranch hand goose neck adapter. Do not like that soft riding hitch. But that second hitch you got gave me a different opinion.
I currently have a shocker hitch on a 37’ 4 horse gooseneck trailer. I installed it right after I purchased the trailer. I like it although there is one thing I don’t like that only happens in stop-n-go bumper to bumper traffic. I’m wondering if the Gen Y won’t. I have a new 26’ 2+ 1 that I want to put some shock absorbing hitch on it. Which one should I buy?
@@VBELTandSON Did you ever make the comparison video? I haven't been able to find it if so... Please let me know. Thanks for making the videos brother.
I too went looking for that comparison video and could not find it. I am looking at a bumper pull for Gen Y or Shocker but I can't find data comparing the two. Any data you have would be appreciated.

I have the airlift on my ram how do u hook up the shocker to it and control it separately from the airbags on the rear axle
The shocker looks really funny on the smaller trailer...... But hey if it works it works👍
It sure is cute seeing Emma and Boone in the back being best of buds.

Great content again Sam! Always nice to see the Boonster and Emma riding along. Your 5500 makes me want to get another truck and flatbed it.

Yes sir I have one on my trailer.......I Love it too
You got hustle small business keeps America running good I work for a small pizza place south of Indianapolis

Bought one for my Kaufman. Honestly, don’t know if Irma worth $1,200, but it helps quite a bit.
Shocker performing well. 👍🏻
Which hitch was better the Gen-y or the shocker looking to add one to a 48ft goose neck also a 25+5 goose neck both to carry 30k plus
Do you prefer the Shocker over the Gen Y Spartan? I haul cars for a living and looking to get one or the other asap. Thanks
Your truck sounds SWEET!
Thank you!
After watching your B&W hitch install I think I will pay the 200 bucks for installation and plug in the bed.
Pretty cheap install what ever works👍🏻
SHOCKERHITCH looks like a pretty good unit makes sense
If you dedicated this to a trailer the on trailer air would be the way to go with a wireless controller for air adjustment.
sam how long is the deck on that trailer . thanx for the videos.
Sam, do you have a magnet on your phone. If so where did ya get it.all the ones I see are in the mount.
Great video man 😎👌 Both great hitches there.
Be awesome to have one of those or even the gen y on my setup cause she rides like a lumber wagon with 24k on the deck!
3 of 3 as usual 🙄👍🏻
To small of trailer to put the Shocker on 👊. What does Boone get paid for supervising 😁
I pull 17k bumper pull with my shocker hitch with about 80 psi is what I keep my bag at
What kind of air compressor do you have mounted on your truck?
I'm pulling 20k with the shocker with my 3500 and rides nice
Different seeing Boone in the back seat. Hes thinking only V belt steals shotgun from me
So u never explained which one u prefer between this one and the gen y
So you have tested the Shocker hitch & the Gen Y hitch. Which hitch do you think is better? Do you currently use one?
I’m using both still. I will make a video comparing the two and tell you good and bad with both.

It looks like you’re filming with a gopro, how are you mounting it to your dash?
Most of this was filmed on dji action
And magnet
V-BELT and SON awesome! Thanks for the reply! Keep up the great videos
You should do a video of Andy going to the mill.
I want to. Maybe this winter when we are rained out I can go with him
Does your 5500 have the wide track front end like the new ones?
Yup
Nice. I bet that helps a lot backing up that little trailer compared to your 3rd gen 5.9
Seems like you liked the other hitch better? This one you never seem happy. What about a video with the other new one on this trailer
Thomas Courtney I don’t think new one is short enough for this trailer. I’ll try tho.
Why doesnt this hitch have a schock absorber?
Idk but that would be a good idea I would think
Hell of an idea right there.
No need for an air compressor; just bring a decent bike pump capable of the psi you need.
Rather spend the 50 bucks on a portable cordless compressor. Ain’t got time to pump 70 psi from a bike pump
@@VBELTandSON lol. takes 20 seconds, but OK
With a fully loaded trailer? Send me the video lol

I clicked on this for information about the shocker of which there was almost none I’m 10 minutes into it and I haven’t learned a thing thumbs down!
I have several several videos on the shocker go watch one of those. No one likes a cry baby
