Omw Rolene, my labour was somewhat the same to yours. I felt my first contraction at 6.33am in the morning, I went to hospital at 11am, was 4cms and then I dilated quickly (I couldn't handle the pain and optted for an epidural), at 4pm I was fully dilated.
My son had shoulder dystocia also, his arm got stuck and they ended up breaking it to get him out. My little one was born at 18.08pm that evening and he is 6weeks today. 😊

Awesome! Well done on persevering. My son's birth was so quick that my gynae didn't make it on time, which was really sad for him & us, as he was like a father figure to my hubby & I - the best doctor! He missed my daughter's birth too, as he was away that weekend & I was due for induction the day after. He walked a long journey with us through both pregnancies & a miscarriage. My son's birth was really quick, but I lost a lot of blood, and the nurse delivered him, who was incredible. I was unaware of what was happening to me. She didn't hand him to me as she was more concerned about treating me, so it was not a normal situation. Thankfully she remained calm & I'm forever grateful to her. And for my healthy (now 22 & 19 year olds) babies.

Well done Rolene Strauss, what a true inspiration you are.
My story was kind of similar to yours.
My son was born 14 September 2017.
I also did not want an epidural or any pain meds. But in the end I had all meds and help you can think of😂
But my baby was born after 15 hours in labor, 03:40 in the monring. Healthy, big boy.
I am so glad it was a normal birth!
So now we are expecting a girl, due date is 19 March 2020, and hope this time without any meds and no epidural!

I was too scared to try and deliver naturally. I had an elective caesar on the 15th of Feb 2017. Everything went smoothly in and out of theater within 30 mins. The recovery afterward sucked big time though.... I'm currently pregnant with no 2, will have another caesar on the 21st of Jan 2020

My 1st son they ruptured my membrane at 7am and he was born at 14h45 on 27 December 2012 (he was only due 7th January). My second son I told my husband at 3am its time. At 3h45 I was 4cm at 4h15 I was 9cm. The gynie just made it in time for my son to be born at 04h35. He was due 10 June but was born on the 11th of June 2019. No time for an epidural and I so badly wanted one. But it was so worth the experience again. Thank you for sharing your amazing story with us

I gave birth 6 months ago (my son will be 6 months this Tuesday , the 8th.
I also gave birth naturally. He was a tiny baby , weighed 2.85kg. I planned an induction as we stay in the north of the country (Namibia) and by doctor was 240km away so we drove the day before the induction date.
I went in at 8am on the 8th of Sep ‘21 , the doctor broke my water at 13H00 that afternoon and my son was born at 15H39
I had a wonderful experience and easy birth. My husband prayed before we went in and he was by my side the WHOLE time! Before the last push came I was exhausted (I didn’t eat the whole day) and I was in theater and I said I need coke now (I don’t drink coke , so it was strange that I wanted coke) but it was that sugar I needed ) then they rushed to the nearest service station (luckily the town I gave birth in ,Tsumeb is a small town) then they came with ice, a straw and coke and I took a big sip, breathed in deeply and pushed and so everything went well. I was lucky enough to have a birthing video and pictures and there’s a picture where after I gave birth I was sipping on my coke.
Best experience, most wonderful, joyous day! Something only a mommy will understand 🤍

Ek glo vas, sodra die dokters begin intervine, loop ding verkeerd. Hou alles so natuurlik as moontlik. Moenie dat hulle water breek nie, knip of induce nie. Ek het 3 natuurlike geboortes gehad slegs met gas en air. Baie sterkte, weet sommer nommer 2 sal baie vinniger en makliker gain 💕

Wish I could go normal on 3days before his birth day my legs gave in and my screws went lose in my back. 😭😭😭😭 I had to go for c section the next day. And my legs didnt go dead they dit epidural and the other one. Twice and the dr had to tilt my bed to sides to get my legs dead. When the one leg is dead I start to feel the other leg. 20min after struggling we got it and the dr used that time to get our son out. He is born on 37weeks and 2days. I was so freaked out cause all of my screws made everything difficult for all of us and I started to pray and after my prayer things started to working. I wish I could say it was a normal birth but GOD HAD A PLAN and my son was healthy and he was 3.175kg how do I say nothing will happen to you when God knows the time is right. At least he wasnt in a birth cage or in ICU he was with me the whole time.

Wow, great story of determination. I really wanted to do a natural birth ending up with a proper emergency c section(classical cut) at 28 weeks with my son weighing only 870g. Currently 21w pregnant and looking foward to a full term pregnancy and another c csection.

Soms is mens se plan net nie soos jy gedink het nie. Met my eerste swangerskap was ek ook so lank in kraam dat op 9cm het ons al probeer druk en later na alles is my seuntjie agv n suurstoftekort met n noodkeiser gebore. En met my tweede swangerskap was alles anders. My dogtertjie het so vinning gekom dat daar omtrent nie tyd was vir epiduraal nie en sy is toe normaal gebore. Van een uiterste na n ander. Maar dis wonderlik om te weet ons almal het sulke unieke geboortes!!
