This is as innovative as the KORG M1 was back in the late 1980s I am extremely impressed !! This instrument will give YAMAHA & KORG & ROLAND & CASIO something to strive after as it is a breath of fresh air to the world off electronic Keyboards. And your demos and playing are absolutely fantastic. And thank you for all the work you’ve done.
My second reply as I glean something new every time I listen to this now I just need to save up so I can purchase it. I AM 💯 % sold on it. KORG AND YAMAHA AND ROLAND NEED TO LISTEN TO THIS AS IT IS TO ME A SUPERIOR PRODUCT ! !
Great video. I had purchased one from England. However, I sent it back. I play the accordion. There was a latency when I played the chords on my left had, which I was not having any problems with the sd90. This was on the styles using real voices. The styles with the midi voices had no problems. Has that problem been corrected?
MOVE OVER, YAMAHA Since the mid 80's (as a solo performer) I was blindfully faithful to Yamaha sounds - and my Tyros 5. And to cut a long story short, due to being fed up of lugging my T5 around, and Yamaha not listening, as usual, I nervously bought the Ketron SD1000 sound module thinking the sounds would be 'ok'. After coverting my tracks (that have mega voice bass, drums + others) I am more than impressed with many of the sounds, so much that I have ordered the Ketron Lounge. The 'live' sound of many instrument patches, have the 'wow' factor. I just regret that I was so single-minded, but now feeling enthused and can't wait to get the K Lounge 🎸🎤🎵👍
One thing I appreciate is, when you play piano mode and want to control the bass lines, you can in every style force the bass to root or lowest note. I hope, this would also work with audio bass.
Here’s a revised version of your message: Fantastic videos-the Pro Pack 1 sounds incredible! Will you be reviewing Pro Pack 2? And is Pro Pack 3 still expected this week?
Yes, as explained at the start of the video. The whole instrument has been properly balanced out, no more varying volumes as you switch between sounds and styles, voice selection automatic when switching between styles, new Real Chords for Western Music (especially American and Latin), and lots and lots more.
50:25 not mono compatible, when you're listening in mono, the speed is twice, what sounds annoying. But in one context it works great, when you play it over a Dolby Surround system, the rotary sounds very authentic.
Maybe - but regardless, each manufacturer has its audience. KETRON is focused on those who want a live band presence and want to keep people on the dancefloor...etc.
AJ, good morning. My name is Paulo and I'm from Portugal. With the latest firmware update from ketron, in terms of features and sound of the keyboard, doesn't it improve a lot? Does your Pro1 package only include new rhythms, new sounds and lots of midifiles or does it also have improvements in terms of keyboard sound? I don't use midi files and I just wanted to know what exactly this Pro1 package has. Regards.
That is because the FILL to VARIATION is turned on (similar to AUTO FILL on other Arranger Keyboards). This way, I don't have to press 2 buttons together. Of course this can be turned off.
Hi .Leigh . Can you advise please ,can't get a reply from Ketron UK . I have purchased the Event X module . Can you advise a controller keyboard that will interface with the Event X .61/72/88 keys .Thanks Leigh .
This will depend a lot on the feel and number of keys (personal taste), but any Midi controller with the GM or GM2 logo on it will work just fine. If you want to also control the functions like start/stop etc, from the midi controller, then make sure it is able to transmit SysEx messages to EVENT - this way, do you don't find yourself reaching out far to do this on the module itself ... or simply get one of the FS6 or FS13 Programmable pedals and program each to trigger different functions on the module. KETRON is also releasing an APP in the next OS where this can be done from your tablet as well - many options that make the KETRON great - and unique!
1 has a 16 channel sequencer? and what is the capacity of tones (korg pa2xpro has 200000, pa80 has no limit!) 2. is it possible to simultaneously record everything played from the first player in mp3 format, singing on the microphone, and playing on the keyboard - on the second player-recorder in mp3 format?
Not a full fledged sequencer but a partial once as you can use the style engine as a sequencer. If you want more sequencing capability, look at the KETRON SD9 Pro with the Launchpad feature that allows you to have both Midi and Audio tracks (up to 3 per scene) within sequences.
Great demo, such a pity Ketron couldn't have made the upgrade to start with instead of having to make yet another purchase. I have the Sd90 connected to my Yamaha sx900 which I believe gives me the best of both worlds, having great Ketron sounds with great Yamaha styles. Here endeth my ramblings!!
i had the Genos and the styles espcialy dance, funky, jazz, latin and world blow away the Event, but... what is lake is the drums of the ketron therfore i bought the event that sounds to me superior, but i am disappointed in the style department especialy in moderen styles.
The upgrade from KETRON is free (at www.Ketron.it). The Pro1 Package (just like other Arranger Manufacturers do) is a paid package that further enhances and adds to your KETRON EVENT (sounds, styles, features automation ..etc)!
@@AjamSonic yes i understand. must say that i have waited for your packeg with alote of expectaions but i am dissappointed becouse many of them are not what i am looking for. i want modern styles like at least the genos or the pax5 but with the sounds of ketron
We will do another demo with just modern and song styles from the package. The package comes with over 120 styles (66 are new and the others are remixed with new Real Chords, Live Drums, Bass and Guitars and utilize the new Effects settings and new samples/voices) and so it is impossible to demo all in one video.
Not sure I understand the Pro1 Package. It looks like it was a Firmware update to enhance and fix operational issues, but it also offers new sounds and styles. But why do have to pay a good sum of money for the Pro Pack if it adds and fixes functionality? Shouldn't it be bundled separately for free?
The Pro1 package ADDS to what the factory already gave you with EVENT. You are paying for the additions, not the fixes to bugs etc that come free from KETRON on their website www.Ketron.it
In some aspects (Arranger, Arranger features, Live Sound), yes. In others (lead sounds esp Guitars, woodwinds etc), the Genos 2 is preferable. All depends on the kind of music you play and the needs you want met. Check out the ENHANCING YOUR GENOS 2 video on our channel.
No disrespect but in your first video you were very much jumping to conclusions. Most of the things/improvements you are referring to were already in the Event ( but undiscovered by you) or were provided in the O.S. updates of which we have had three so far and number four is in the wings ....If you know how to tweak sounds and tweak styles you can go a long way to sounding absolutely stunning with this arranger, only you have to make the effort and create your own Registrations as there is no Songbook or similar thing...By using the EQ sections to the full and by throwing in the Real Chords you will come to entirely different conclusions. Note that you can e.g. EQ the drums seperately from the overall DSP final EQ....Nothing wrong with the new AJ styles but it all comes down to a matter of taste here. The internal styles are already stunning and can be tweaked in a way far far beyond most folks' immagination..... John Smies, Holland.
True that the internal styles, sounds and content put the Event at let us say X. The Ajam Pro1 pack now puts it at X=10. The keyboard has the 'capabilities' to do A, B, C ... etc, however the AJAM Pro1 pack achieves these by using the tools KETRON provided but never used. It all boils down to content and here (for an example) is where the difference lies between a great product (EVENT) and an excellent product (EVENT with Pro1 Package). Hope this explains. Those who will better understand this are Yamaha users who have been 'spoiled' with automation. The AJAM Pro1 pack adds this automation and more - it does not take away anything which is why it is a must have, especially for YAMAHA users who want to cross over to KETRON.
Isn't AJ a coder? a programmer for Ketron that has built so many keyboard engines, that's what I heard anyways. For me, he explains things so simply but that even advanced players and low life's like me can understand. I'm lucky to have a Genos 1 and Pa5x but the Ketron Event simply destroys them both I would love to own one. Quentin
