Captain Obi is a lot like Captain Yami from Black Clover. He's able to take the misfits, people overlooked by other squads and see their potential.
If you look closely there are many aspects from different anime being incorporated into the show.
Luckily the story is very well done so the tropes being used don’t matter because it’s generally cosmetic for the story itself.
Take away the “fire fighter” setting (very unique theme I would like to add) and the team; and you can make this a “Cat and Mouse” anime like Speed Grapher.
@@Egryn on the fire fighter theme I love fire as an element, Natsu Dragneel is one of my favourite anime characters so having an animanga where the entire power system revolves around it really makes me smile

Fire fighting isn’t an often used trope, and having it creatively meshed with pyrokenetics is incredibly unique.

For forest fires they will burn an area ahead of the actual fire and then out the area.
This way when the fire gets there it has nothing to consume.
It’s literally fighting fire with fire.
Still the show has incredible potential.

@@pandyssianrat yeah neither was Benimaru but by the end of the story he could destroy the planet. Every character got way stronger when Adolla and earth merged. Same with Arthur. With her crazy second gen powers I could absolutely see that happening
@@moxbby4585 There's nothing crazy about her powers. She just controls fire on a larger scale than most 2nd generation. She was being crushed just by the mass of the moon when she tried to stop it from falling, how would she stop the sun?
Benimaru and Arthur were "the established ones" in the FF world, it made sense that they got as strong as they were.
She probably can now cuz obi can split the earth in half with one hand after everyone got the same buff so she probably could

ehhh joker ended up being strong but nothing too crazy, however benimaru was perceived to be planetary, and he was able to destroy his perception zero dif, so yea he’s pretty damn broken

Yo, I'm watching this as we speak. This is lit. With the first episode it details the MC background, the power system, and the threat. This is good writing
Naruto ending was such an amazing thing to experience. I'm glad, however, that they learned to not pressure the mangaka and let them finish their manga on their terms and not force them to stretch it out. Demon Slayer was amazing and Fire Force so far is pretty decent.
When I finish an Anime, I always get excited about the mountains of content I finally get to watch on RUclips

I'm curious, is it actually called hysterical strength in the source material? I know hysterical strength is the actual term for when someone uses their muscles beyond their standard ability (like using adrenaline and ignoring the bodies pain signals in order to push beyond what is healthy for them). I'm not saying this isn't what's happening, but I'm just looking for some clarification.

The Fire Force powers weirdly make sense when you consider what pyrokinesis is. Control of flames means control heat, similar to ATLA, but obviously way more extreme. And since heat is the most basic form of energy, being able to psychically control it literally gives you the keys to the universe if you know how to use it.

Ok so I’ve almost caught up with the show and I am pegged with one question:
If Arthur’s ability is directly link to his level of delusion; why did Vulcan just make specialized armor for him to fight with?
Giving into Arthur’s role play delusion has already proven it increases his power.
Just push a button and a helmet comes up to cover his head, and the face plate comes up to protect the mouth.
Make it look all knightly, and then give him a legit motor cycle as a mount.
Next thing you know he’s mowing down enemies as he charged in with a lance only to jump off and have it shrink down to the size of a Zweihander, and just goes HAM.
Makes sense if you think about it.
Also that one chick who uses Tekkio, needs an upgrade to produce a flame retardant, the usage on that would be very versatile.
Have them come straight down on a battle field, and basically smother an area.
Or have them point towards each other and spin for an AOE shield.
This doesn’t mention that applications for them moving as independent units as well.
These are just two characters I thought deserved logical upgrade and wouldn’t make the story different other than their personal capabilities.
