Eric Lewis man crush Monday
Im with you too, Eric!
"I am a Bourbon kind of guy"
suddenly I like you even more Thomas
I love how he's so calm when he's incorporating the vanilla bean, then he's just like "YOU DON'T WANNA BOIL IT!!" 😂😂😂
Those eggs in the bowl look so satisfying!!!!!!!!
Now this is the eggnog recipe I have been searching for, with a custard base. This looks divine, even though it's summertime. Thank you Thomas!
where have you been hiding Thomas? We miss your regular posts.
Is it just me or is everyone else thinking "what in the world am I going to do with 16 egg whites?"😂😂
Probably make a souffle the size of the solar system.
You can freeze them
On the contrary, an angel food cake tends to require a large quantity of egg whites. Make one of those to go along with it.
Empress Wu you can make meringues, those are christmas cookies so it goes with it.
Depending on how many egg whites are required for the cake, you could take at least five of the egg whites - if you didn't combine them all - and make a swiss buttercream to add to said angel cake >.> Gonna be a busy day in the kitchen.
Thank you for this video and recipe Thomas!! I have never made or drank egg nog before because I was under the impression that it was a yukky gooey old-fashioned drink, but now I am super excited to try some for any upcoming shindigs. Your enthusiasm is infectious!
Impeccable presentation. 👌👌👌👌
Welcome baaaack thomaaas ❤️❤️❤️❤️ we've been missing you 😭😭😭 don't you ever do it again pleaaase love you so so much thomas ❤️❤️❤️
Thomas Joseph, you're wonderful.
What a beautiful and elegant ladle!
this is so similar to a creme anglaise which we use all the time in french patisserie - particularly as a base for mousses and ice-cream. I just used it in my last video for a beautiful silky custard layer in my raspberry trifle :) Great video!
"You can drink so much of it" lolz
I like how you incorporate milk on this one. Looks doable simple and explained clearly.
Happy New Year Thomas. I love your videos xx
Happy holiday
Thanks, Thomas! I look forward to your videos. Love every one of them. You're awesome. Hope you have a wonderful New Year!
it looks delicious, thank you Thomas Joseph. Happy New Year
I comeback every year to this video, loved that recipe, happy 2018
Gorgeous! ♥ and the eggnog looks good too! ☺

1:33 "So you can get cracking on your egg yolks"
I see what you did there
Excellent!!! Just made it!!!
Thomas I want to cook with you some day omg I'm your fan
now that i've found this recipe, it makes me less afraid to drink it HAHAHA
cool ladles
delicious
Finally a use for egg yolks
can you post a recipe for Irish cream using whisky
I love this one! It may be my favorite! It can be difficult to get organic eggnog sometimes, and I have some allergies. Thank you so much!! Eggnog all year long to make up for the years of deprivation! ❤
Yummy!
I don't even like eggnog I just like his series!
I add a tea spoon of cinnamon and ground nutmeg with the vanilla just to give it alittle more flavor.
missed you !!!!!
Omg yum, and it looks so pretty in that punch bowl!
Growing up, we always ate/drank raw eggs. Never got sick.
I would whip the cream before adding to the egg mixture, to give it a richer texture.
Hey Thojo, Please show me your science behind the red velvet cake. I'm the big fan of that cake. Thanks.
looks delicious!!!! your vids are great!!!!
Fold the whipped cream into the mixture and make it even thicker.
This looks interesting, I have heard it's really popular in the US - we don't have this in the UK.
Looks like it's a similar sort of recipe to Custard?
Leem it seems like liquid custard. It reminds me when I was a kid and my mom makss custard and I loved to drink hot custard out of the pot.
Leem It tastes like a milkshake
It's pretty similar to custard just not as think
The only change is make is spooning the whipped cream over it.....I'd put it in a pastry bag and pipe it on. Presentation is key.
Hi Thomas I picked this as it's the earliest video, I've watched most of your videos your very very inspiring, question have you done a biscotti video
I've made several however they are ok but not quite good enough I've tried several recipes from different video's can you do one please. Thanks
I've heard of eggnog but didnt know what it was and never tried it. So its basically alcoholic thin custard?
The secret to the perfect pavlova. No crackling, well cooked meringue with a pretty shine. #kitchenconundrum.
Naughty Tom. You need an extra hand 2:02? I'm sure there are a lot of volunteers ;)
Oh wait it's a bit like a brandy Alexander oh ok now I get it lol
How long can you keep that in the fridge?
can you show me to make the perfect chocolate fudge because there are a lot of recipe that concern different amount of the ingredients
So eventually it's a liquid custard . I never knew what it tasted like and I can't say I love , living in Australia it's so hot a custard type drink on a boiling hot day doesn't appeal to me but it looks yummy for maybe a winters day
hi it's awesome recipe please put English subtitles and measurements also
3850ml whole milk
530g sugar
480ml heavy cream
120ml dark rum
120ml bourbon
I got drunk just watching this, but the eggnog looks divine.
hi thomas...i always watch your vids..i just want to know how can i have a perfect cupcakes without cracking or drying. thanks
Is there any way I can steam this for a latte? I worry about it curdling...
How do you clean the fine mesh sieve? Ours is clogged with (dried) small particles of whatever we used to strain previously.... please help
How many cups would result? I.m thinking to half the incredients
How far in advance can you make the mixture?
With the egg whites can I freeze them to use later for a cake or a Swiss meringue frosting?
Yvonne Brunner yes you can
when you're ready to use that time, just defrost them back to room temperature and whip them into meringue 🙄
he's so cute.
Thomas, are you as lovable and adorable as you seem?
well in France this is the recipe of creme englaise....custard cream...
Can i have some please? Happy 2017 handsome! ♡
What would you suggest if I need to make some for the Children as well?
Zainab Nuzhan Just don't add the alcohol. I abstain from all alcohol, but drink a little eggnog during the winter. It's just a sweet thick drink. Think melted egg based ice cream. If they like vanilla ice cream they'll like this.
wow this is a good video but i feel that some parents are looking for some recipes that are kid friendly and without the alcohol in other words maybe make a kid friendly eggnog recipe that will be totally safe and the egg yolks are cook like you said
I have a conundrum: What can we make with extra egg yolks or egg whites?
0:48 I thought he was going to say nutmeg.
Missed you babe. lol
2:01 That conundrum though. =P
You can come over anyway and make the eggnog while I work on the dessert.. 😜
So like if you can't drink alcohol, what can you use as a replacement?
Adam Perez
Idk that is what I was thjniing
Adam Perez Just don't add the alcohol
the alcohol ist just for the taste u dont need to add it
More vanilla, maybe.
More spices like cinnamon, mace, cloves, and extra nutmeg or some chai tea. My family keeps it warm and puts a shot of espresso in each cup before adding the nog.
Where did the egg white go ?
does eggnog use cinnamon and cloves?
is it go in virgen recipe
I'm so sad that I can find those Martha Stewart pots and pans. The original try clad ones. Some help!!!!!!!!
I'm Muslim and I don't drink alcohol, what can I use instead?Of I don't use alcohol will it affect the taste?
Sabrina Todd no you can eggnog with or without alcohol.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I wish they the recipes in grams they would be easier wouldnt have to convert the quartes
I totally thought that the whipped cream was poached eggs.
I can skip the alcohol right?
Yes, its just as good with no booze but maybe try a little extra nutmeg. Put it in your coffee, pour it over a slice of cake, make it into ice-cream, heat and drink it like hot chocolate, put some gelatine in and make it desert... nog is very versatile; no alcohol needed.
Paperrockmoon thank you very much for all these tips, I can't wait to make egg nog now. I'm gonna make some for new year's eve. :D
Ahem... why did you post this AFTER CHRISTMAS
Channukah is still being celebrated. Martha Stewart is of Jewish descent.
actually she is polish roman catholic, but her former husband was jewish
New years celebration?
This should be Googled by everyone. You are a better chef than this rudimentary recipe. You shine on seafood stuff, imo
Two shots of vodka 3:59
I drink 10 egg whites everyday of the year so if you're not sure what to do with your 16 egg whites send them this way 😁
why not adding the egg yolks when the mixture is cold then let them all cook together. wouldn't that be better?
so eggnog is just a thin custard good to no
I dont think the yolks and merengue whites are cooked.
Where are the egg whites?
Put a damp cloth under the bowl and it won't move.
I came here to see what those white floating things were.
First one to view the video? It actually says no views. I didn't know that happened.
eggnog=bowl of diabetes
Saad Ishtiaq which is why you only have a couple of cups during the holidays(a couple of cups once in a year isn't going to hurt you, people should learn portion control)
what happened with him?
American rompope basically
There's no spice except for a little nutmeg as garnish 🤔 I expected there to be cinnamon...
Why are vanilla beans so expensive?!!!!!
Vanilla beans come from vanilla orchids. Orchids are very labor-intensive plants to cultivate because they are very picky about light, temperature, and humidity. It takes 3 years before a vanilla orchid is ready to produce a vanilla bean. A vanilla bean will only be produced if the plant is pollinated within 12 hours of blooming. Pollination has to be done by hand because the only natural pollinator for vanilla orchids is a particular species of bee from Mexico.
oh
Doesn't seem that safe to drink if you are planning on driving.
~moderation~ a cup or two won't get you tipsy.
newjerseydittohead Don't worry you can drive, because there's not enough bourbon.
Thomas, come to my house and we can drink bourbon together.
