I have a black cat and she was a feral cat. Her mother, also black, lives near my house and the mom disappeared and the teeny black kitten showed up on my deck on Halloween. She was whining and crying and very feeble. I of course took her in and the vet said she was five weeks old. I’ve had her for over a year now and she’s friendly and likes to be with me, but she’s not cuddly. Although, when I was hospitalized for a week a few months ago, she spent lots of time in my lap when I got back home. She does sleep with me on the bed most nights. She gets on well with my other two cats, a grey and a tiger. I really love her.❤️

I had a black cat. I got him when I was 8. We grew up together. Near the end, I was away for college. He got sick while I was gone. I came home for Thanksgiving break to learn he wouldn't eat or drink. But still alive. I sat and he pulled himself on my lap. I helped him and removed his collar. My best friend died on my lap. He waited for me to come home to say goodbye

My wonderful doctor gave us a comfortable chair in a quiet room and told me to make sure we were both comfortable and take my time. I reclined and cuddled her on my chest. She had been lethargic for 2 weeks and at times visibly uncomfortable. For a minute I held her as she purred, just thinking memories and breathing in her fur for the last time.
Steve is very gentle and it was quickly accomplished without incident. He wouldn't let me drive home until I placed a cool cloth across my eyes for a few minutes.

He was probably suffering for days, weeks or longer but cats can’t verbally explain that to us. When they’re obviously not themselves anymore ask a Vet about euthanasia if they can’t be cured or if the cure is way beyond what you can afford or beyond what a pet should be put through. Especially if the cat withdraws a lot, hides, is inactive or seems depressed.

@@alosialeeWow sounds like you have your hands full 😂. I have 6 kitties total and thought that was excessive. But you know you can't just have ONE cat, at least I can't LOL. Be careful with your black ones around Halloween. People do horrible things to black cats that time of year. So sad what some terrible people do.😢

    • @alosialee
      @alosialee 2 месяца назад

@@clairestephens4916 while there is a basis of truth in that, it's more of a myth these days and is primarily used now as a scare tactic to help prevent adoptions during that time of year. The primary reason that most places won't adopt out or sell black cats during Halloween now is the same reason more rabbiters and such wont sell their bunnies close to Easter, which is, parents or people buy these animals as accessories or "gifts" for those days, realize it's a lot more work than they figured after the fact, and ultimately abandon them when they're 'done' with them. There is usually a significant increase in rescues needed after most holidays but particularly around Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.
And yes I do have my hands full. We are currently in process of getting them all spayed and neutered now and it's definitely been 'fun'. 😂😂😅 But they're all precious and I can't really see my life without any of our furred friends, our cats and our bunnies. =3
Eta: all our furbabies... Raven, JagJag, and Mr Kitty (all black), Crush (orange), Bruce (grey and white), Starfire ('Male' caliby), Arella (female caliby), Cookie (silver bengal), Tater Tot (brown tabby), Pepper (broken otter Rex rabbit), Marco (black otter Rex), Silvermoon (albino mini lop), then the ferals we've managed to help and feed thus far are Wybie (silver Bengal), Coraline (Cashmere bengal), Zero (black floof), Onyx (black short), Ziggy (female caliby), Gingy (orange), Vanilla (orange and white), Lady Tottington (female tortie), Bonnie and Clyde (paired tabbies Male and female though Clyde was sadly hit by a car a few days ago), Cosmo (grey and white), and Burgerz (tuxedo Manx). Of the outside ones so far we've managed to socialize and get somewhat inside Wybie, Coraline, Zero, Onyx, Burgerz, and Lady Tottington.

In Scotland Black cats are considered good luck. We certainly were blessed with a beautiful stray Black cat who after obvious abuse chose us to live with. We called him Zuki short for Suzuki as he purred like a motorbike. He looked like a mini panther. Then our adorable Tabby Widget we were drawn to in a rescue centre. He really chose us howling evey time we walked away. He had been thrown from the top 17th floor of highrise flats he had some brain damage and a broken palate. You would expect him to be frightened but he was the most affectionate cat who knew I was pregnant even before I did never leaving my side for the 9 months. The 2 made excellent baby sitters when we had our eldest daughter amazing since they were both male they were so gentle and loving rowards this new wee bundle.THen again with our 2nd daughter. Now after 20 years of having the best years with them we have our Turkish Angora Tuxedo cat. He is another rescued furbaby who adores everyone. He lost his adopted mummy our King Charles Cavalier Evie and grieved her. He has bonded with our 2 other dogs now and still thinks he's a dog at times! All our furbabies are adopted and all have been incredibly affectionate.ia little bonkers!

She was a beautiful black cat and she died just a few months ago, on 23rd November. Cautious was about 14 years old (she was a stray with a litter when we first crossed paths). We had "looking for a lap" written on her urn as she was constantly seeking out a spot on our laps. She was skittish with strangers, but absolutely attached to us as we were to her. The year before, on 22 Jan 2022, I lost my other beautiful black cat, Arian, at age 22 (I know, ancient for a cat). I'm very sorry for your loss. The house definitely feels so strange doesn't it? I adopted my 4 year-old black cat from a city shelter in July 2023. Funny thing was we really just adopted each other. I worry because she often cries in her sleep and wakes up crying. I always ask her what's wrong just so she also hears my voice and then she will curl up with me and I'll pet her back to sleep, She is the most affectionate and loving cat I've ever seen, she loves to be loved, touched, petted and talked to. I kept the name the same as the shelter named her, she is my sweet loving Ravioli.

We lost our black cat last year, that we took from a friend because it was being bullied by two new cats, sadly we only had her for a couple of years, but we feel that we gave her a nice end. We since got another black cat from a rescue centre, and she's lovely, she's playful, inquisitive, and quite chatty, we wouldn't be without her! She had been at the rehoming centre for 3 months, because she had been overlooked, other people's loss was our gain!

My orange girl is still young, she is the most affectionate cat ever and I had quite a few cats this far. If I want to cuddle with one of our 4 cats, I choose her :) The others are lovely too (even the calico who is a drama queen and acts like she dislikes attention but it's clearly just an act. she isn't sharp enough to see her signs aren't consistent ;) ) but they prefer a quicker hug. By the way, we thought 3 cats is enough (we still do). Then the ginger kitten came and didn't accept no. And I have a heart and a love for ginger cats... So we were doomed :) And now I have a cuddlebug!

I knew a Tuxedo cat who appointed himself the neighborhood ambassador. He was intelligent. And social. Each morning he would go to every house on the street and greet the people there. If the door was open, he would go inside and even upstairs to find the person and greet them to help them start their day with a warmer and happier heart. He would also sit in the middle of the playroom with three toddlers playing all around him. Quite the social guy! My calico was phenomenally loyal to me, and very intelligent. I once watched her study every detail of a painting for 20 minutes straight, so she was also an art aficionado.

Years ago I helped feed a colony of stray (not feral) cats who were all TNR'ed. The smartest one I ever knew was OJ (orange of course!) who was the Alpha male. Once he didn't appear for a couple days, then showed up at my door looking for me. He had a fever and one ear was badly swollen from an infected bite. I took him to the vet who said he was "very stoic" when they cleaned the wound & gave antibiotics. He was fine, and I felt honored that he knew I would help him.

The two cats I loved most in my life were orange tabbies, but losing them was so painful compared to all the others I've had that I've decided not to adopt any more. After losing Tommy in 1991 I had to give away my only other cat at the time, who was so obnoxious that I'd disliked him for the all the years I'd had him (yet also orange tabby). I quickly realized that Tommy had been the only thing making it possible for me to put up with Tigger. Then... it was 9 years before I adopted two new cats, and then an orange tabby kitten, Buzz. Two years ago I lost him to cancer, and although I still have two cats, I'm still grieving and will never risk getting an orange tabby again. Losing other cats hurt a lot, but losing Tommy and Buzz broke my heart. I can't go through that again.

Have a gray now. He’s what I call a 50/50 cat. He loves us, being around us, sitting on us, affection, loves to purr and play, but doesn’t want to be “forced” to do anything, including he will leave even if he is placed on his favorite person (me). He needs to do it on his own. Also affection is fine with him but he doesn’t always want to be bothered. He will sleep alone a good while. He won’t come easily. Traditionally I seemed to have karma with buff “tuxedo” cats. They were wonderful. My last one long ago would follow us everywhere, around the neighborhood, to different rooms, and always happily came when called. Tail up straight 100% of the time, so happy. I loved him so much. Our gray, maybe tail up 80% time, so he’s quite good! But I always had good luck with buff colored tuxedos.

She loved playing fetch with a rolled up empty cigarette pack. She lived to be 32 years old, and passed away laying on my lap. I sat there, and petted her and talked to her until she was gone. It broke my heart, but she definitely knew she was loved. I miss her every day. Now I have 3 tabby's, 2 girls and 1 boy from the same litter, born in my backyard, I took them in when they were 6 weeks old, now their 15 years old. They have their own personality's, and they are my babies. I love they with all my being, and they always show their love for me. Plus I take care of some outdoor cats that show up everyday.

I am fortunate enough to be owned by three sweeties. My oldest is a tuxedo, a sweet girl is fourteen
years old, seems to be very healthy and happy, and indoor kitty. The second is my outdoor kitty she came to me about two and a half years ago ,she is a real sweetheart and greats everyone who comes to my door, she to seems to be very healthy, she is a tabby. My third is huge question, she has three colors, but her dominate color is grey. She is about six months old , full of energy, and terrorizes my older cat, not mean only wanting to play. She to is a indoor kitty . I love my girls dearly , they add so! Much to my life I thank God for them . They are all rescues, they were wandering around looking for food ,to-thin and generally unharmed for, now they lots of love.

I have 5 cats, a Siamese, a tuxedo, a particolor, a long hair tabby and a female orange cat. I have many cats, I had a grey (blue) cat she was a weirdo. I had a torbie, a cross of a tabby and a tortoise shell, but she was a dilute tortoise shell she was blue and orange instead of black and orange with the tabby stripes mixed in and white toes. She possessed that sassy tortie personality but with her family she was sweet.

I have a grey and white tuxedo girl and a male orange tabby. She is very smart, curious and in charge. My orange boy is such a sweet kitty. He is abit shy and tends to be bullied by the tuxedo. He was found with his litter outied at about 4 days and was bottle fed. They are both adopted babies from the shelter I volunteered at. Love them both!

I had a tortie named CC, a black cat part Burmese named Voltar who loved to fetch, a white cat named Candy Cat who had helped me in a very difficult situation. Now I have another black cat Queen who was named after the band by a local animal shelter’s employee. She exhibited feral type aggression since 2018 after adoption. That kept up until July 2022, when I came back from 3 day hospital stay due to heart attack. I thought Queen was going to rip me apart again. However, Queen was showing affectionate behavior and hasn’t been feral since.

You absolutely nailed my kitten. My old cat, Beatle, had such an amazing personality. He even learned how to speak several English phrases and words. He died in 2020 at the age of 20. Even though I had two dogs, I really really wanted a new cat so I went in search. I wanted a similar personality to my beloved Beatle and wouldn’t consider a cat if it didn’t have a similar story, thinking that would help to ensure the personality I was looking for ie family motivated, loving, playful, affectionate, and purposeful in his speech. One a friend of mine asked me if I was interested in a cat, so I called the woman who was looking for a home, asked her the cat story, which was very similar to Beatles. I met this lovely little girl I named her Peta After my favorite dancer on Dancing with the Stars. I am delighted to say she does have a similar personality and is learning how to follow dog rules in my house. And she is a lovely tabby just like Beatle with one difference. Beatle had no yellow and Peta has a beautiful, yellow undercoat and yellow eyes making her quite stunning. In the future I know I don’t need to search for a story but rather search for a tabby. Thank you. Curious cat for my newfound knowledge.

It's heartwarming to hear about your connection with your old cat, Beatle, and how you found a similar personality in your new kitten, Peta. It sounds like Peta has brought a lot of joy and companionship into your life, just like Beatle did. It's amazing how animals can leave such a lasting impact on us. Thank you for sharing your story, and I wish you and Peta many more wonderful moments together!
I thank for your presence here on the channel! 💜

I have three cats, black (bengal), calico and marmalade. My favorite is my black baby. She chirps, plays and is definitely a sweetheart. Very, very affectionate. My marmalade is 20 lbs. and acts more like a dog. My calico is very intelligent and very inquisitive, always teaching her brother and sister how to do things around the house such as opening every cupboard and door possible. Needless to say my home has been cat proofed for their safety. 24/7 indoors. All around the same age of six or seven years, and I would be lost without them. My teddy bears!!!

Enjoyed the video. I have a tuxedo and a grayish and white blend tabby. Next week I’ll be introducing a blended calico stray to the household. A petite 6 pound fixed female that’s super affectionate. I’ve watched a ton of “Cat Intro” video’s to the point my heads spinning. 3 is the limit until the next stray comes calling, LOL

I've loved all my cats through the years, but my black cats are the most memorable. Such personalities! But all colors are so special and unique in their own right. Can't imagine my life without kitty cats! ❤😊❤
