Thanks my man.your video was very educational to me.I have a mercedes flywheel to resurface but I will not do it myself but it is good to know what the guys will do to recondition my flywheel.Thamks again.Im in South Africa.
Nicely done. Just had my flywheels done by someone else here in the 🇺🇸. I hope they did all the measurements checks you did. I would take my flywheels to you knowing you do it nice and right. I hope you get alot of business for machine work. Its great that you show whats done in the process. Hey people bring your flywheels here. Get in done right here.
Nice work. I never saw a flywheel that had one clutch disc but needed to be resurfaced in 2 places. Given the low quality that many machine shops have, it wouldn't surprise me if they ignored the need to machine the higher surface to match the friction surface. Either that, or the machine shop would tell you that the flywheel is meant to be used one time only, and not accept your flywheel for machining. The problem is probably even bigger in the USA because so few drivers own a manual transmission.
The outer face accepts the pressure plate & it's mounting bolts. If the relationship between the plate mounting surface & clutch disk material contact face is not maintained, the clutch holding power will be reduced. Granted, this set up was often utilised on European cars of long past.
Peace be upon you my friend you have a good machine and nice work I want to ask you, my friend, about this machine. I have one like it, but it does not have this clutch that rotates. Can you show me how to make it, please?
My question: is there a standard hight between the disc surface and the plate surface on the flywheel and what's that standard difference? I asking because when the difference is not right the plate and the flywheel won't release the disc.
Hi mate only just learning the ropes with machining, my question is how do you know when to adjust the head down further? Ie: enough to remain cutting but not too much so that it all gets too hot, is it a certain number of rotations before winding down, a noise thing, just comes with experience? Thanks 👍

So interesting. Great video and photography. Keep them coming. Maitland N.S.W.
I have watched three flywheel turning videos today and yours is the only one where they have cleaned the shaft side of the wheel or dialed it in.
Great work brother 👍👍👍

This was a excellent video. Will be coming to get my car work done from your place in future

good explanation thanks

Excelente!! Gracias.
do you need to re balance it?
Beautiful work!
I do these and many other flywheels a lot at the machine shop I work at. I mount the flywheel to the machine then pull the pins. Easier
SWEET MATE
Good 👍👍👍👍👍
