Great video and thanks for crafting this! I noticed the brand new Cross Bronx Expressway making its way through the Castle Hill section of the Bronx. Also, I got a glimpse of real NYPD VIP Detail Patrick Vecchio in the clip of JFK in NYC. Vecchio was later the longtime Smithtown Town Supervisor on Long Island. Great video!!!
Whenever I see the front of a 1961 Plymouth, I remember their squad car. I was in second grade when they drove that car, and I remember thinking it looked weird. Still looks weird.
2:04 and in the background: a '59 Fairlane.5:28 Also a '53 Buick and a....... 57 De Soto?6:29 Hugh Downs, announcer on the Jack Paar show.7:50 Grandpa Munster!(Al Lewis, in the background).10:39 if we're talking about the same car it's a '63. Also there's a '59 Mercury in this shot.11:19 '61 Dodge lancer ahead of the Rambler.11:27 in the distance a '55 Ford and in front of it a '59 Chevy. I wish I could identify the car behind the wagon, I need a better view of the front end. Nice job again Fusion Kidd.
Nice video some good location shots that are still there is there a video with the location shots from the show, I recognize that they used the then new cross Bronx expressway, and Fordham road that looked the same until the 1980s

Did one of the actors shown join Fred Gwynn later on the set of 'The Munsters" series as the uncle ?.
The police cars used by the officers on the show were painted red and white instead of green and white so citizens wouldn't think they were real police officers

I'm surprised to see a Black actor on tv that early in the sixties.
Curious observation: The exterior shots in the opening sequence show the current model car, but--when they cut to Toody and Muldoon inside the car, the interior is that of a 1957-58 Plymouth sedan (the dip in the instrument cluster and the six side windows of the 1957-59 Plymouth sedan body are the dead giveaways). It occurs at 7:22, where they're preparing to chase the speeding '62 Chrysler 300 convertible...at 7:52, when Muldoon starts getting woozy behind the wheel! And yet again at 8:41 and 9:43. I suspect it was easier to use the body-on-frame 1957-58 Plymouth for the interior "process shots" rather than trying to cut up a unibody post-'60 Chrysler product....
In the close up they are sitting right next to each other but in the long shot there is space between the two. Those of us that have had, or like me, still have, one of these cars know there is a lot of room in that front seat.
There's a holdup in the Bronx, Brooklyn's broken out in fights. There's a traffic jam in Harlem That's backed up to Jackson Heights. There's a scout troop short a child, Khrushchev's due at Idlewild Car 54, Where Are You?
I have the complete Car 54 series on VHS tape. Unfortunately since I don't have a vcr that works Im unable to watch them. Hopefully I can find it on DVD
The MGA at 12:33 is actually a early 1962 MGA MK2.... you can tell by the position and shape of the stop/tail lights and the badge near the oval hood vents.
So Herman got his start as a cop, eh? Might have been the stress of that job but I heard that within a few years he had really taken on a strange, almost monstrous persona and a job in a funeral home. Creepy.
10:30 For the record I don't think that is a Pacesetter convertible as it doesn't have the checkered flags on the right fender like mine did. I know they didn't say it was, but it appears that it for sure is not.
If there was a dumber, more STUPID show than Gilligan's Island, this is it. The choice of the ugliest cars ever built since World War II didn't help it any!
@@tomservo56954 I know of it, but doubt I ever watched it. From what I recall, it was a hit show? Even Jackie Gleason made an occasional flop, like "You're in the Picture".

I am really enjoying this series! I love the character voices narrating. Thank you Fusion Kidd!
The Chrysler 300 G was the most beautiful car shown !!!.
The cars, the location and even the actors themselves were classic from the outset. Today's generation has no idea what they missed.
The narrator had the voice of Muldoon. Well done.
What an awesome idea.😊
This series is soooo entertaining!
6:43 ...1958 Buick Limited Riviera, Oh my good ness.
Great video and great description of all the vehicles shown. Looks like you were 100% correct and I agree with you.
I saw Nipsey Russell!
Capt. Nipsey Russell US Army in WW !! .
Keep ‘‘em coming!!!!! These videos are AWESOME! And I LOVE ❤️ the voices that are speaking….. they sound just like the original actors! 👍👍👍
Fun videos. Thanks !
A great show, they don't make them like they used to!😣 Oohh, Oohh!
Great work! So enjoyable. Thank you!

Amazing how you replicated the voices! Great job!
Another jewel. Thanks kid.

Cool!
How do you simulate the narrators voice to To duplicate the star character voices? In every one of your episodes, you achieve this. I love it!
And a note the location shots oitdoors were shot in ,etro NYC. Areas. How clean
Very, very funny show!!

@@jerrywood4508 63 years from now it will still look weird thanks to Virgil Exner.
It may look weird initially but it grows on you after a while especially when you own one like I do.

Hugh Downs did the 1974 Ford LTD commercials

Nice 😊
All bad guys had mustaches. 😅
Look how thin Fred Gwynne was. I know he used prosthetics on his more famous show but I didn't know he was rail thin back then.

these boys were too funny! even funnier then the Barney Miller boys!!

So I'm not the only one who remembers the lyrics after 65 years!
Austin- Healey Sprite &
MG-A. 😎‼️
A Mk, IV Sprite was my first car!
Very good. you did one wrong call. On the 1954 Mainline. It's a 1953 Mainline.

From a police car to Dragula and the Munster Koach

NYPD keeps their cars a long time, they should've kept the '61 through the whole series.
The narrator sounds like Fred Gwen
Im sure that’s Fred Gwynn’s voice
That reminds me...do the Munsters next
So,who's corvair did they use?
So Herman got his start as a cop, eh? Might have been the stress of that job but I heard that within a few years he had really taken on a strange, almost monstrous persona and a job in a funeral home. Creepy.
Sally the horse is a boy!!!
They were wrong in the beginning about the 50 Ford Ford wasn't a 54 was like a 53 or I think it was
These weren't classic cars then, they were just cars.
10:30 For the record I don't think that is a Pacesetter convertible as it doesn't have the checkered flags on the right fender like mine did. I know they didn't say it was, but it appears that it for sure is not.
The MGA shown at 6:00 is not a 1956. It's a 1962 MGA 1600 Mk II. I know, I own one.
Muldoon hooking up with girls is a hoot
😂
The Ford Mainline is a 1953!
The '58 Buick was the least attractive car shown.
First

But a Cars of Gilligan's Island video would just have that one the Professor made out of palm fronds.
