I was also born this area of the East Bronx in 1957. This show depicts the neighborhood very well. We moved out in the early 1970s when it started becoming dangerous and dirty. I miss these days but I can remember them here.
I was born in the Bronx when these shows were filmed in 1962. Nice to see what it looked like back then. Also a very good show that should have given us more than two years.
The sixties had a bunch of shows that only ran 2 or 3 seasons that became cult classics. Car 54, Munsters, Addams Family, FTroop, Patty Duke Show, Batman, Gilligans Island
I think this episode should have been played as the first episode of the series, because it really introduces Officers Toody and Muldoon MUCH better than "Who's For Swordfish"...
Oooh, Oooh, Jumpin' Josephat another funny episode. That looks like the Cross Bronx Expressway in the backdrop in the late part of episode. Funny, I don't remember too many times when the traffic was moving so smoothly.
Bruce Glover is in the scene at 22:00 which the cops beg the captain to reassign Toody and Muldoon back together as patrolmen. IMDb wrongly assigned Glover a different credit in this very series but I complained and they changed it.
I remember watching this episode as a kid. Do they really care if you've gone over 1,000 miles for your 1,000 mile check? I remember asking my parents, lol.
FRED GWEN WAS HURMAN MUNSTER AND EVON DE CARLO WAS LILY MUNSTER AND AL LEWIS WAS GRANPA IN THE MUNSTERS AND BEVERLY OWEN WAS THEIR DAUGHTER AND BUCH PATRICK WAS EDDIE MUNSTER THEIR SON AND FRED GWEN WAS IN A TV SHOW CALLED CAR 54 WHERE ARE YOU NOW AND HE WAS A POLICE MAN AND JOE E ROSS WAS A POLICE MAN IN THIS TV SHOW AND HE SAID OO OO BEFORE HE TALKED ABOUT ANYTHING AND SADLY FRED GWEN DIED AND HE WAS A VERY FUNNY COMEDY ACTOR IN THOSE TV SHOWS 😔
I think the second set of credits is off somewhat. Like Hank Garrett played Nicholson for instance but here the credits say Johanson. Are the rest mixed up too or was his character Johanson in this episode?

Excellent episode of Car 54 Where are You !

This series was made in 1961. The Bronx still looked so neat and bucolic then. By 1975 it was burning to the ground.
Retired cop here, 33 years. This episode is so true!😁
Terrence, yup, things don't become problems until you dwell on them.
that's what made it such a great show, the writing, authentic.
Oooh, Oooh, Jumpin' Josephat another funny episode. That looks like the Cross Bronx Expressway in the backdrop in the late part of episode. Funny, I don't remember too many times when the traffic was moving so smoothly.
yup, you got it.
One of my favorite police shows
Great episode these guys are meant for each other 😁😂🤣😃😄😄😅
Salute to friendship!!!!
The adage "If it's not broke, don't fix it!" applies to Toody and Muldoon. ;-)
Toddy and Muldoon are the best.,
His face ...... Fred Gwynne ohhh man super Body Language I am laughing so hard I can barely breathe this Acting is BRAVO!!
The reason that toody and Muldoon work so well
Together is because they are a perfect yin-yang pair
Joe e Ross seemed like a great guy.
Even though I was born in 1969, I see the reruns. This is my favorite episode. Car 54 Where are you?
Another Great Episode !! Thank You Duke Beers For Sharing 😄
Brilliant, ooh ooh ...

Brief appearance of Nipsy Russell at the start.

Actually, I don't remember Gunther saying "Jumpin' Jehosephat" in any other episode.
Now, ooo...ooo! is another matter!
I love when he says "Do you mind? DO YOU MIND?"
My uncle was an NYPD cop in those days.

This one has sound, so I will Re Subscribe to your channel!
HAS ANYONE NOTICE THEY ALWAYS GO THREW THE DRIVER SIDE
Only made 60 episodes, but it was funny. Maybe they complained it ripped off Andy Griffith or something.

Nat Hiken just had the gift of comedy with Bilko and Car 54
