Sunburst and black are the most common I reckon. Black with rosewood board and white plate it’s the most common ever I’d say. Every cheap brand does it. Three colour burst is nice if the red stands out and it has a black plate, pickups and maple board. Sienna burst is awesome.
There's no "why", because everyone doesn't. Other colors are made because other colors sell as well. I like that you have one that you picked out...choice is good.👍

What is plate?
It has an iconic look, but I chose Olympic White for my 2011 American Standard.
