Hello I have a question I'm doing the N-400 online for my mom and I want to do it based on the English excemption language test because of the age and the time with the green card (55/15). But I don't see in this new version where to check for this exception. Any help please!!!!!
1. Exemptions and Accommodations 1a. www.uscis.gov/citizenship/exceptions-and-accommodations 1b. Note: your mom must be a legal permanent resident for 15 years (not live in the US for 15 years) and be over 55. 1c. Note: your mom will need to answer questions based on the N-400 and civics questions in Spanish. 2. Bottom of N-40 instructions page 8 under Naturalization Testing and Exemptions 2a. www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/n-400instr.pdf 2b. Many USCIS offices have officers who can interview applicants in Spanish. However, the instructions don't say that a Spanish-speaking officer will be provided. The instructions do say that you must provide your own interpreter. 2c. Also, complete section 12 (Interpreter) and 13 (Preparer) because you are translating and explaining the N-400 to your mother. 3. If your are filing electronically, go to the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION section 3a. Chose YOUR IMMIGRATION INFORMATION, and IF YOU ARE A LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT..... 3b. Add a comment that because of the 15/55 exemption, you are requesting a interview in Spanish. I can't post the photo here, but I will post it to www.youtube.com/@uscitizenpod/community
Use the current form. The N-400 focuses on children under 18 because they derive U.S citizenship from you when you become a citizen. Your wife and parents do not derive citizenship from you. If you are worried about "total members of your household" (Section 10:3-4), include the people who physically live with you--your, wife, kids, and parents.
Hello, Do I need to add my Spouse information if I am selecting 1.A? As I understand I fill my spouse information only if I select 1.b or 1.d otherwise skip to Part 6. Am I correct? thank you
You are right, they made a mistake, there is no info about the spouse if your spouse is NOT U.S citizen .. but if your spouse is U.S Citizen then the online form will ask you about the spouse info .. also no question about the parents..
It depends where you live. Go to www.uscis.gov/forms/all-forms/direct-filing-addresses-for-form-n-400-application-for-naturalization . click "All other Applicants." Look for your state. The USCIS address is in the right hand column.
could you please answer this question for me because i am very very confused about it I have a speed ticket . When filling out the N-400 application, I answered "No" to "Have you EVER committed, agreed to commit, asked someone else to commit, helped commit, or tried to commit a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested?" and "Yes" to "Have you EVER been arrested, cited, detained, or confined by any law enforcement officer, military official (in the U.S. or elsewhere), or immigration official for any reason, or been charged with a crime or offense, or notified that you were being investigated for a crime?", then I entered citation in "Crimes and offenses Table " When I go to the next question 16 "If you received a suspended sentence, were placed on probation, or were paroled, have you completed your suspended sentence, probation, or parole?" What should I answer here? "Yes" or "No"? It seems both answers don't apply to me and I am not sure what to put here?
I am not a lawyer. I can only provide you with public info. Please check the info below and make your own decision or consult a lawyer. Instructions for Application for Naturalization pg 20, 22 www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/n-400instr.pdf Unless a traffic incident was alcohol or drug related, led to an arrest, or seriously injured another person, you do not need to submit documentation of traffic incidents. If You Have EVER: Been in a traffic incident, you must provide documentation of traffic incidents only if the incident: 1. Involved alcohol or drugs; 2. Led to an arrest; or 3. Seriously injured another person.
I just went through the whole online application. You are correct, there is no place to enter your spouses name. I suggest you enter you spouse's name in the Additional Information Section and upload your marriage certificate there. Meanwhile, I will pass on your comments to my USCIS contacts. Thank you so much for your keen eye for detail! Good luck on your application.
thank you for your beautiful and helpful immigration video teacher Jennifer ..(( I found a mistake in the N-400 on-line application form ")) . I am married to non U.S citizens and I am applying for my U.S Citizenship under( general provisions ) eligibility ,and again my spouse is NOT U.S citizens, she is just green card holder like me , the new form of N- 400 online and in paper Doesn't have the questions about my spouse or about my parents at all !! After I answer the question about my marital status, I chose married , then the online applicant it takes me automatically to the question : Is your current spouse currently a member of the U.S. armed forces? I answer NO , then it take me direct to my children's info ,there was NO Questions at all about my current wife or Ex wife or my parents !!! is this Normal in the new N -400 form if you are applying under general provision?? please take a look and try the new form and us know . thank you very much and once again thank you for your video's.
You are absolutely correct. The paper N-400 asks for the spouse's name; but the online account does not. I suggest that you upload a copy of your marriage certificate, along with a copy of your green card. USCIS has received comments about this problem and will probably correct it in the upcoming months.
@@uscitizenpod NO Jennifer , also the new paper application Doesn't require any info about spouse or parents if your spouse is NOT U.S Citizen , it says clearly in part 5 : if your spouse is NOT U.S Citizen skip to part 6 , please take a look at it and read it .. thank you again for your important video.

Hello i have questions where can i find USCIS online account number? What should i add to child and spousal support or just to leave it? Do you want Social Security Administration to issue you an original or replacement Social Security number and update your immigration status with the SSA if and when you are naturalized?
If this is your first time filing a case online, you probably don't have an online acct number yet. It is ok to leave this blank. Do you already have a number? A new citizen is required to report to the SSA.gov their change of legal status from "lawful permanent resident" to "US citizen". Is that anyway to use previous form, or if you were finished this form will that be any update about our spouse or parents info?
The new form is accurate and accepted by USCIS and they dont need your spouse info or parent if you're applying under " general provision ".
Use the current form. The N-400 focuses on children under 18 because they derive U.S citizenship from you when you become a citizen. Your wife and parents do not derive citizenship from you.
