Florio needs to get over it. He’s angry Atlanta didn’t lose a number 1 pick on the Cousins negotiations. Atlanta is doing what they want to do. Not having a QB for two seasons made them realize they need one. Duh! Having two is even better.
A LOT of overthinking going on here. Reminds me of the poison show down scene in "The Princess Bride", with Florio playing the role of Vizzini.

The Falcons have had a great offseason they’re going all in, maybe they wanted an insurance policy a lot of seasons end because QB injuries
What if Atlanta never gets a top pick again to take a quarterback with the potential of Penix in the coming years. I'm a huge Falcons fan and being out of QB hell that we have been in feels great.
I wish this bit about the Falcons covered Judon and Simmons. Everyone said to take Turner, they didn't, but still addressed it and no talks of that? Just more they should have never drafted Penix

He was projected as a mid to late 1st rd pick. I love the pick for Atlanta but he was always gonna be there at 8.

In case you don't know, Mike Florio used to be a lawyer for 18 years and is a fiction author who writes mob books. I'm assuming his previous profession influenced his choice of topics to write about.

Mike was a civil lawyer focusing on wrongful termination not criminal.
Don't forget he also worked as an engineer for Chevron out here in Emeryville, Ca. Failed and subsequently went to law school. Part of the reason he hates the Bay Area and the Niners.
Yeah Atlanta is insane for drafting Penix…wait until they win the division and also have their present AND future at QB settled while only paying out $100M guaranteed for that. That sounds like a good situation to me. Heck of a lot better than Tua’s $167M guarantees.
It shouldn't be thought of as insane. But if Penix proves to be underwhelming, then you can legitimately question the wisdom of missing out on a stab at a quality player with such a high pick. Their defense is under the radar good and using that pick to get the first defensive player off the board (your pick of the litter) might have been a very good move to put the defense over the top, especially with a defensive HC. A trade down might have generated a wealth of talent down the road. I would've loved it if they would have traded down once or twice and got leatu latu whose looking great in the preseason. Plus, they could have gotten a developmental qb later in that draft or perhaps next year. Time will tell
If it's the 28 and a half on average and no Tds have been given up and there has been fumbles so using those numbers its worth the kicking team make them return it. I also get the regular season will change thing but the logic saying it's not worth giving up a TD for the 1 or 2 yards is just forgetting that the returning team can turn it over...which is more likely than returning it.

McDermott has been giving up the 30 on most of the Bills' preseason kickoffs. The Touchback needs to be the 35 or 40 to make the play worth the risk.

He’s been in the mvp convo multiple years. So when he’s not hurt he can be good but that’s the if so why not have a solid back up plan if they believe this roster can go on a run.

Cousins has never been the ‘wire to wire’ guy, no matter what the Falcons have said. That’s why they drafted Penix. It’s an Achilles. Geez, Flores, c’mon. It was always going to be a two QB season for the Falcons. Wait and see.

Lamb is so incredibly good, I don’t know why the Cowboys wouldn’t jump on a deal. Just find the highest paid WR, and pay Lamb a little more 🤷♂️
If they had done the deal just a few months ago it would be saving them millions but Jerry always knows how to cost himself in these deals.

Remove the kick Reduce the Commercials or we will stop watching. There are too many commercials for me to tolerate watching a football game. I will accept more games but make them shorter and with fewer commercials. SICK OF THE COMMERCIALS.
