Wing Chun practitioner here. I box also, and with my Wing Chun, I feel "invincible." One thing boxing trains you in, that no other martial art can do, is the single-minded concentration of force, speed, and precision behind a punch. From this video, you can tell how the human form is easily hurt, as we're made (by God) to be packed with nerves on our exterior so we can safely navigate the physical world. Nerves make us recoil when we get stung, say, by an insect, or we accidentally stub our toes on something hard, and when defending ourselves from harm, a quick hard punch or kick on pretty much any part of the attacker's body can really hurt this brute, giving us enough time to flee. But-there's always a but-you must train regularly to be sharp and maintain your skills, and when you punch or kick, do it with intent to hurt so you can get away and save yourself from harm or death. You guys have probably seen videos of cats easily defeating snakes with their precise, lighting-fast swing at the head of the snake with their paw, which is mind-blowing enough, but look at the cat's confident, incisive, and stoic eyes. They mean business. Imagine yourself fending off an attacker with the cat's speed and resolve-you may just watch this brute run away with tail between legs. Constant disciplined, serious, and even serene practice is key, especially in our world breeding hyenas and wolves everywhere now. If you find yourself fending off more than one attacker, your calmness takes over even more, making you breathe better so you can last longer. Always exhale when you let go of a punch or kick; for some scientific reason, doing this, besides making you last longer, makes you go faster. Be safe out there guys, and, please, stay away from bars and try not to be out too late at night. We only live once.

I studied WC many years ago, under SiFu Dave Meadows who learned under Sigung Duncan Leung , and I saw first hand how effective WC is, I am finally glad to see someone out there that showed what real WC is, I am tired of all the bad publicity it has been getting. Finally someone who explained what the chisow is really for, to build up sensitivity to be able to predict what your opponent moves are going to be.
I come from the Moy Yat lineage, but I borrow a lot from others. The Leung Ting branch has a lot to offer. It's good seeing a decent explanation. The best way I can describe WC is if you take the clinching of Muay Thai and Boxing and then mix them with Grexo Roman Wrestling. You can get really good in close range if you train hard.
Great Sifu. The point he hit on your arm was a pressure point on the Lung Meridian which goes from your thumb, up the arm to the chest. This is why you felt it in your fingers, it was radiating from the thumb
He gave you all the key information. 13:59 that aggrivation you were witnessing was HUEN SAO. Circling hands are crucial in wing chun. He always changes his gates on you. Huen sao. 15:44 that's the shifting, when you work we use energy against you, so if youre working for a collar tie or wizzer he will switch stances or change direction to screw it up. Circles and shifting. Key.
Though I also practiced Wing Chun, these same techniques and strikes are in Okinawa Ti (not Japanese Karate) that I have been practicing here in Okinawa for the past 16 years. I also train in the Philippines and you find the same principles in FMA. He is correct in that these principles and movements are universal in traditional MA if taught correctly, and that most schools of Wing Chun, like Karate, don't understand these principles and are often teaching nonsense (even unfortunately here in Okinawa this ignorance is prevalent.) The style and school is not significant. It's the understanding of basic principles of physics and physiology, with psychology in the mix.
YES! Legit Wing Chun is brutally effective because it’s based on sound physics. Also - little known fact - Wing Chun also has loads of joint locks just like bjj has.

OUTSTANDING VIDEO Educational- Exchange of ideals - Respect by both practitioners This is a gathering use to be when I first started training at age and now 64 THANK YOU for this video -&- great memories
To those here saying that Wing Chun automatically fails against grappling, I wouldn't be so sure. Back when I trained in WC there was an intermediate student who often went up against a friend who did BJJ. The BJJ guy couldn't take him down. Even though the WC guy was just average, he had extremely good defense just like this GM. Another thing this fellow student demonstrated to me is that this art offers a way of self defense where you don't necessarily have to hit the other person. This guy's chi sao was so effective that he could just put his straight arm against my chest and I couldn't get past it; he'd just roll to putting his other hand against my chest, keeping me away without me being able to hit him, or take him down, and he didn't have to hit me. That's a very useful benefit of WC.
I went up against a friend while drunk one time and I'd only been training for a couple of years and he couldn't get me to the ground even though I was only around 50kg and he was maybe 80-90. I ended up breaking my leg though because my bones couldn't take the force when he suddenly twisted. haha. I'd like to think I'd handle it better now.
Even Bruce Lee changed his vision and application of traditional WC. He was hated by many for it, but no matter the flack, he always held that "everything that comes from my fists is wing chun". It was awesome to see a similar spirit in this Sifu.
I've trained in wing chun for over twenty years. It became very popular, and training exploded. Then invariably, plenty of so-so schools led to a poor opinion of the style. When I saw this video, I expected some “wow” factor, but instead, the guy was just showing Wing Chun (done correctly) Edit: to be clear, I really liked this video!
Good job.. this is how ALL traditional systems should be viewed and trained. Make contact, jam or deflect, hit and posture change. Inside Fighting guy calls out what needs to be called out but you can tell he is passionate about traditional arts and is actually making them better by pointing out their weaknesses for current and future practitioners. You don't need to be able to beat a Thai Fighter in the street, you need to be able to neutralize aggression and wild attacks. No matter your style, you need to train against pressure.
thanks for that. I think traditional styles have tons of value and in many wars offer more longevity than combat sports. There is only so much wear and tear my body can take and I don't ever want to stop training.
The way he throws his hooks looks similar to how they throw ballistic punches in Systema. You just did a video on Systema so you have up close experience. Am I correct?
It’s somewhat similar but different. Hard to explain. They both hurt and both penetrate. Milos hits more rotational and systems just kind of sinks itself in your body

For a guy like you who is well versed in other Martial Arts, if you start training wing Chun seriously you will be really amazed with what the style has to offer. You should also look at some videos from Erick Paulson who is using wing Chun and Chisau while grappling on the ground.
Erick Paulson is awesome! He’s got a library of techniques and is super tough
@@inside_fightingBut he was only ever good at the grappling. Not hating, just remember watching his fights when ( both of us😂were young) and he only seemed proficient at the grappling. Remember some of my instructors going crazy watching that " World Fighting Championship" match with the Boxer/ Kickboxer. Fought almost exclusively in " clinch/ trap range, but all we got was bad wrestling that ended in a "Hair grab and Hammerfist combo. Disappointing because My peeps had picked him to win it all. Still a good fighter, but a grappler, I feel.
@@bronzetiger6360 i remember that fight. The entire fight was a hair grab 😂

i practice wing chun from the last 20 years and train people too , from the police and other security services , many times the system and style what i teach like this sifu save lives in hard security works , amazing video
Thank you
Your welcome
He said the best thing I've heard a WIng Chun person say... Get use to being hit. YES!!
Second time watching this gentlemen. Cheers from Ottawa.
Great Sifu. The point he hit on your arm was a pressure point on the Lung Meridian which goes from your thumb, up the arm to the chest. This is why you felt it in your fingers, it was radiating from the thumb
It's also where the nerve exits the bone.
Key.
Great encapsulation. Great explanation of things that are so often misunderstood.
Thank you!
Glad you liked it 🙏🏼
With wing chun lineage means everything. If you look at the Cheung lineage it's very different with respect to the footwork etc
It's the understanding of basic principles of physics and physiology, with psychology in the mix.
well done, both of you
YES! Legit Wing Chun is brutally effective because it’s based on sound physics.
Also - little known fact - Wing Chun also has loads of joint locks just like bjj has.
Love this video. Great clinch range/ "dirty boxing" / trapping range info. PLEASE do more with this gentleman if you can. Thanks! PS- love your channel...

Do Sparring next haha 🤞🤞 this dude is legit! Loved this video!!!
We played around more off camera and he’s good😅 I’ll see if he lets us film sparring
@@inside_fighting I'd love to see that because it'll shut up the "annoying anti- anything that isn't boxing" goal post movers hahaha
Those guys are simple minds
@@JeffreyParker-ok5ed yeah, I get the initial distaste boxers/mma guys etc. have towards wing chun, but when you show them the good wing chun people and explain that it's fighting like any other some of them go "oh okay, so it's like any other martial art" which I respect, than you have the others who will just move the goal post further and won't admit they were wrong...those annoy me a lot
@@martialgeeks Thanks! Ready to spar anytime, let’s go!
Awesome!!! :)
This is much better than the last one of your videos I watched this is real Donny yen style wing chun
Asking hands. Very good. Thanks.
One of the best videos I ever saw. Very impressive and I will repeat watching it several times.
Rare view of high level practical skill. Nice to see the specific muscle engagement pointed out. To many WC punchers are just arm.
He has a great understanding of how to engage different parts of his body for more force generation.
The flow with your movement is better than most fighters. You feel it and it's obvious to see! You know exactly what I'm talking about too. It's not hard to watch somebody and how they move and judge their understanding of what they're doing. Your videos are the only ones I continue to come back to even though there are thousands of instructors and videos available today.
Many of the styles that you have presented to us have gotten me thinking that I wish I had more time to learn some more of those and add them into what I already know. So many of the movements from so many different styles are damn near exactly the same!
You and Kevin caught the bug 😉 learning new Styles is just like getting new tattoos, It's hard to stop.
Good looking out 😎
@@Product_Of_Culture really appreciate that man. I was lucky to have good teachers and passion. Hope to be able to share a lot more. I’m in Toronto now and there’s some awesome schools here I’m gonna visit and share.
@@inside_fighting , keep an eye out for Kalaripayattu, I've heard there is a really good instructor somewhere up there. The blade tactics in it compliment Doce Pares extremely well. It even seems like a majority of Filipino stick fighting came from old Indian and Siek fighting traditions.
I'm curious to see what you find in Toronto! My
Izzo's gonna love this one
Some of his movements and approaches looked very familiar, then he mentions that he trained under Latosa and now it all makes sense. That guy was the real deal.
Yes he has a big fma influence as well. He seems to mesh them very well
If you mean Rene Latosa was with IWTA and EWTO, as a Escrima grandmaster. Naturally ARNIES or ESCRIMA has weaponless fighting system which is as direct as Wing Tsun/Chun. And him being close friend to grandmaster Kernspecht, pretty sure he picked up a lot from Wing Tsun/Chun itself.
@@inside_fighting FMA meshes well with everything. My Bujinkan teacher of 20+ years also had a background in FMA. Surprise surprise the crossover pollination is perfect.
Ganz tolle Videos! Herzlichen Dank an Inside Fighting für diese wertschätzende Haltung gegenüber allen Systemen uns Stilen!
Thanks for sharing guys!! Excellent content!💯🙏🏽
Excellent, very similar to what I learn, aggressive street Wing Chun
Glad to see you stepped it back a bit and gave WC some cred. Thank u brother. And so glad you came across a more than competent instructor.
I always try and keep an open mind. I think any system can be amazing with the right instructor.

I loved this video because it's what Wing Chun is truly about.
Glad you liked it!
Seeing boxing techniques like wedge blocks, changing angles, etc here. Pretty cool.
like him I usually flex my lattisimus in my fencing pratice. It allows me a better sensisivity of my opponent intention. Until now, it was unconscious. I can now apply this knowlege in my empty hand combat structure.
Thank you very much !!!!

This is interesting. Man. I love your channel. Just found it recently
Hehe, great video and explanation, Sifu! As usual :)
Thank you!
yup we do the same thing we never fight against the tension awesome
This was excellent.
Fantastic video! Please do more - Leung Ting Wing Tsun is a complete system with fighting at all ranges, and would love to see more from the both of you!
Wing Chun looks like a mixture of standing grappling and striking.
I enjoy it very much. Thank you!
Thank you too!
Did he learn from Keith Kernspecht in Germany? This reminds me a lot of the limited time I was able to train with Sifu Emin Boztepe and GM Rene Latosa. I wasn’t aware he passed away. He was amazing.
I used to be in the European WingTsun Organisation(EWTO) wich is affiliated to GGM Leung Ting’s IWTA (International WingTsun Association), and GM Keith Kernspecht was GGM Leung Ting’s student.
Kampfkunstschulen Drakulic used to be in EWTO long time ago.
Yes, I used to be in the EWTO long time ago, and I joined some of Sifu Emin´s seminars. That was around 1995-1998
I love this sifu, great instructor. I want learn from him.
Thanks need more
Amazing video! Loved how you guys explained everything ❤
Subscribing: here's why, 1) I had the SAME EXACT questions about wing Chun and hook punches etc = ANSWERED
2) the man did what men do : admit when in err learn gain wisedome grow and teach...
Respect!
Great stuff, guys! Thanks a lot! There's is school in Germany, Potsdam. A bit far away for me. Very interesting, still!
My VLMA MACD in Berlin, come check us out.
What's about Pankow district?
Can you add some traditional weapons in a video with him? Or see what his approach is when being attacked by different weapons? This video is awesome!
Thank you!
@kampfkunstschulendrakulicm2480 Of course! I have been studying Yongchun White Crane and I recently have been wanting to train Wing Chun to see the similarities! Keep doing what you do!🙏🏻🫡💪🏻🤝🏻

Awesome video, I’m not a wing chun practitioner but I really enjoyed seeing how he deals with hooks. Very cool stuff
That was great!
This is great!
New the Channel. Love it!
I love it. Great work guy's. 👏
Really glad you enjoyed!
Woaw thanks, this guy is amazing to learn from.
Fantastic demonstration.
A good wing chun vs grappling, imo would be to watch early Bruce Lee and Dan Inosanto. Enjoy!
All respect Dan Inosanto😊
I went up against a friend while drunk one time and I'd only been training for a couple of years and he couldn't get me to the ground even though I was only around 50kg and he was maybe 80-90. I ended up breaking my leg though because my bones couldn't take the force when he suddenly twisted. haha. I'd like to think I'd handle it better now.
agree on that
there is no bad martial art, only bad practitioner
Even Bruce Lee changed his vision and application of traditional WC. He was hated by many for it, but no matter the flack, he always held that "everything that comes from my fists is wing chun".
It was awesome to see a similar spirit in this Sifu.
Thank you!
Great job on the watch ad by the way. That was awesome!
Excellent I will retain this for my own training, I already like elbows this has cemented the effectiveness of elbows for me even more

I've trained in wing chun for over twenty years. It became very popular, and training exploded. Then invariably, plenty of so-so schools led to a poor opinion of the style. When I saw this video, I expected some “wow” factor, but instead, the guy was just showing Wing Chun (done correctly)
Edit: to be clear, I really liked this video!
Yes I think you kind of summed up the issue in your comment. It's just good wing chun lol I think its just hard to come by
Awesome video
Good job.. this is how ALL traditional systems should be viewed and trained.
Milos hits more rotational and systems just kind of sinks itself in your body
lmao that intro is absolute gold bro
your intro song is awesome haha!
If the sifu applied sticking leg with forward pressure while applying his upper body techniques you'd have felt complete wing Tsun
GREAT video
This was truly amazing to watch 🙏🏾
Thank you!
