This plugin seems very interesting ! I think the example of the static video isn't really relevant though since it's just a basic 2D camera movement that can be made easily without the plugin but I guess it is possible to make a real 3D projection with it...
This seems like a really awesome tool for After Effects, but I wanted to know if it was possible to get more detail in with the 3d extrusion? I understand that this is just a basic tutorial to get people started, but let's say I want to extrude the front face of the car to see more parallax with the wells next to the front lights. Would I be able to create more layers for more extrusions? Can I also do the same thing with the wheel wells?
You are limited to the picture and the zoom length/pan. Its an illusion and a trick. If you go to much of an angle it starts to stretch and distort... Im thinking could you send the car into photoshop. Use the perspective cropping tool grid then simply cut car out with wand tool then select the car and export as paths. That would be so time saving compared to masking it! The imported path would have to come in Ae on the plane otherwise it would be impossible to line it up.. If you look at the vid 'camera projection / camera mapping / 2.5d ' by VFX geek this shows the history of this process. It also shows you what happens if you take the camera too far off the initial shot...
just going a bit fast through the tutorials. Not explaining WHY things are done the way they are .... I had to figure out many things myself which took a lot of time.
This is cool, but it seems like a pain to create traveling masks around the rough edges and holes. Could I not just replace the image of the car with a PNG that has an alpha channel that I've painted out in Photoshop?
The interior passenger-side window and rear window was not masked out, and was misaligned-but in the final render it was aligned. Did I miss a mask step?
I desperately need help. Everytime I hit the "precompose" built-in button, it goes to grey or white. I can't see my layers, they don't seem to be projecting properly in the master comp (the one with ANIM camera). Some settings messed up in preferences possibly? The projection works in the individual comps, but not in the master. This means I can only use the effect with no layers. That sucks! Please help!
This is again an awesome tutorial from one of the best Author.
Thank you.

Echelon Red Media check the product page at the link in the description for a tutorial dedicated to extrusion exclusively.
aescripts + aeplugins Awesome! Will check it out. Thanks for the fast response!

I thought the same :)
This is a cool idea
Exactly. It is a cool tool but you could have just photoshoped the car before and avoid the most ridiculous manual process of roto with the pen tool.

this is awesome!!
NICE
that extrude thing is like magic ... wtf!
3D 모델링 배워서 하는게 더 빠를거 같은데
I don't recommend using this script even if it's free
Simply you will lose your time for nothing
