Would it be possible to use this add-on in tandem with element 3d (by video copilot) to project 3d objects and their animations on the same plane ?

'Projection 3D' uses After Effects geometry(3d-space) and you can add any 3d objects(Element 3D, Particular, Stardust, Form...)
