@@chill07ful If you are saying that John K Sampson is in Propagandhi, You are somewhat correct. He was in Propagandhi, but left after Les Talk More Rock and was replaced with Rod from ISpy.
@@davidvaillancourt5111 It is pretty funny how much hip hop took over the charts when it took putting 6 acts together to get a tour anyone would pay money to see.
lover, friend, family member; this is a sweet, lovely song to play for someone you care for when you do not know quite how exactly to put into words how you feel.
I still have love for the first couple Propagandhi albums, and of course "Fallow" and "Left and Leaving", but many years later I'm finally hearing this one. It's got me pretty emotional, thinking on how much I love my wife and how I can't wait to play this for her on our Thanksgiving road trip. Thanks John K
It's amazing and cool when indie bands attempted videos... Like there's one step in the past without acknowledging that the music video was dead... and it's like a study in a bygone art.
One of my favorite songs and one of the best music videos of all time. I'm very happy I bought Punk-o-rama 10, I didn't even know the HQ version of this vid was on the bonus CD until I got it home. Another good reason to support great music.
The Weakerthans is a four-piece (and sometimes six-piece) indie rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band's debut album, Fallow, was released in 1997 on G7 Welcoming Committee Records, and garnered positive reviews from Canadian music critics. The Weakerthans became the first band in the history of CBC Radio 3's R3-30 charts to reach No. 1 with two different songs. The band's cover of Rheostatics' "Bad Time to Be Poor" reached No. 1 the week of June 21, 2007, and "Civil Twilight", the lead single from Reunion Tour, hit the top spot the week of November 15, 2007.
"I can barely play this thing, but you never seem to mind. And you tell me to fuck off when I need somebody to. How you make me laugh so hard. How whole years refuse to stay where we told them to, bad dog, locked up wining in a word--or a misplaced souvenier; how the past chews on your shoes, and these memories lick my ear.."

I didn't know in the 50's people danced and sang every day. And what does a priest do in the prison cell? Is the convict sentenced to death? A bit bizarre that everyone's smiling then. :D "You're gonna die, lol."
If i remember correctly, priests used to be in the cells of prisoners with a death sentence, to pray for god's forgiveness, and to calm the prisoner down, saying that he will be in heaven and shit. Something like that.
I'm so glad this band exists
*rolls eyes*
Existed. 🙁

One of the few truly underrated bands. Should have been huge in Canada, the US, and everywhere.
100% agree, JOHN K SAMSON has a way with words

This song and album are so nice and pleasant. It always makes me happy after 20yrs
Holy shit, props to whoever at Epitaph remastered this.
I’ve described the drums on this song as “Joy with conviction”. I just love how they pound the hell out of them.
"How the past chews on your shoes." Kicks me in the ticker every time.
4 years on...how's the past chewed on your shoes?
MrColdwilliam pretty much barefoot at this point, but still I’m still around
@@Crow-DHJ glad u still exist brother. Keep pushing strong
Deathcab for Cutie worded it differently, but both are just as poignant
”And the soles of your shoes are all worn down”
These guys deserve so much more attention.
I have a playlist that I listen to constantly that only has The Weakerthans and Bad Astronaut. Always a good time!
One of the best music videos in my opinion. The priest at the end is my favorite part 😆
Best tune to come out of Winnipeg, or perhaps Canada. I will never tire of it, and I'm an old guy.
It's nice and all but SNFU's Painful Reminder exists so can't agree with best tune out of Canada 🙃

I remember watching this video and others on repeat for ever off the PunkORama 10 disk. Reminds me of 6th grade. :)
I've been in court many times, and this shows exactly what it's like in Canada. Ditto the jail scene.
I’m from the Midwest. If you could put the Midwest in a sound these guys and the get up kids are it.
Joy in my heart. This band is just a beam of sunshine depleting serotonin.

Didn't the singer play bass in Propagandhi at one time?
And he also sang in some songs, still does
