This why I stepped down in hotel, now, port rms all day. I had my autistic son for speech on Thursday and therapy on Friday for him. I did that for years until he was 14 speech doing well along with walking upright. But had to work. 8 years later had a another son from a relationship of 10 years. Now, living on my own since 2009. Loving moments at hotel and at my home with myself and my gorgeous prince's. Loving life.
What's amazing to me is how no one in the comments even mentioned the most important & most powerful portion of the interview. Which is the fact the she sacrificed her then career to make sure her son would have a full time loving mom. How did no one in the comment section see how awesome that was? That says volumes about where people's priorities are. On looks, and entertainment. Smh.

Hollywood rarely made our beautiful blk women the it woman. As our young actors are around tgey were really overlooked by casting folk, who are often white women or men. Notice that if we are cast, our beauties often will overshadow thier main white actors. Do u want your white IT woman/men overshadowed, no. They don't. Ms Carroll, was far more "accomplished" than just being in Dynasty or Claudine. Diahann Carroll was a global star...and she was also one of the first, true triple threats, in that she sang, and acted on film and Broadway. .She was one of the first black women to have her own variety show for a hot minute. She sang in some of the most famous and reknown entertainement venues in the World..she sang for John F. Kennedy at a private party thrown for him, during his inauguration (the pics of her singing at this party, dressed in white, with Marilyn Monroe, just hanging out), can be googled. 'Claudine" was a very small part of her overall success. She was also known to give money to upcoming black film makers, when they needed financing for their films. So, to say she was accomplished and/or played the part of "Claudine" is undertating her influence. She was a giant in the entertainment industry. Good luck to Michael Michele...a very smart lady.
She wasnt really a GIANT in the entertainment industry though. Very Very few Black women were giants back then. Diana Ross was a giant. Aretha was a giant. Not Diahann though. She was relevant but she never reached giant status.

Sarah Vaughn was a giant....Ella, Lena and Diahann were giants. This is why, its important to realize, OPINIONS VARY. Diahann, 'moved the needle' on societal change....Aretha moved the needle on a scale.
