Nice video! How many times do you have to suffer the effect of the critical damage? I mean if you get a critical hit, for example roll the dice after your action phase and if it's a critical hit, you suffer one damage. Is it only once or every round? Thanks!
It depends on the Critical Damage card you've drawn. Some of them tell you to take the effect once, then flip the card over immediately, while others requite you to flip them over as an action. In your specific example, I believe the effect occurs just once before the card is flipped, at which point you can safely forget about it. Hope this helps!
Fun explanation. I like the sense of smart aleck humor that isn't annoying. this should have more views. my comic book guy "could the sun be any more orange" critique. I have a masters degree in ancient mythology so I can state these things with impunity & holier than though attitude. the good news is I watched the whole thing ; these aren't in specific order. I only watch it once. and I didn't pass typing class to get the degree. I paid someone to type my thesis. the K turn template is backwards. is there a confused or drunken pilot token ; might have mentioned the upgrades match the icons in the upgrade bar I don't think you mentioned if a pilot is stressed they can't perform an action. theres so many maneuver templates I need a golf bag & maneuver template caddy. I always pick the wrong club I mean template. I need to put color coded stickers on them I don't think you mentioned pilots activate in ascending skill order and attack once in descending. thanx for the boundary suggestions. it beats an oversized mousepad $30 rollup slip resistant playmat with licensed artwork. I almost think maneuvering and performing an action should be separate phases even though I understand why they put them both under "activation". that's a serious comment ; The Xwing is using the Imperial themed green side of the range ruler to target lock. the one you called the "range marker". I actually looked thru the rules the first time to see if the sides were color coded for a reason then I figured out the red matches the red lasers in the movie & the red lines on the firing arcs. target locks can be in 360 degrees which is Sci Fi wacky and/or generous. barrel rolls can be from the front to back edges of the ship base but you did show that. I would've shown a proton torpedoes upgrade card to show what a secondary weapon is. crits also put a crit tracking token on the ship but I cant recall if the original core set had them init is determined differently since you made this using the 2012 core set. it now hands out a cool looking force awakens token I wish were double-sided so you could flip for init like the start of a football game. Xw heads and TIE tails. using the force like qui-gon did to watto in TPM is fair game. I think that's what 3 time world champion paul heaver does. interesting the TIE is turned on its base. must be its better side to be photographed did you turn them sideways on purpose in the core set pic seriously it is very tough to tell how detailed to get when explaining in 5 min. or less or more. all things considered you made it sound like a fun game I'd like to play if I already hadn't without getting bogged down in too many details. It works well describing what the maneuvers and action tokens will effect in a subsequent phase instead of saying well see how that works later or more about that in a minute. the ending would be funny if it weren't true ; that doesn't even take into account target laser lines, plastic backwards dials, precision acrylic templates & tokens, brightly colored bases in lieu of neon lights & curb feelers, huge $100 correlion corvettes just because, 3 level plano fishing tackle boxes for storage, custom tournament carrying cases that get checked as luggage. and to the dude smoking at the end. it jacks up my health insurance whether I breath it in or not. lay off buying the rogue one expansion packs. triumph the insult comic dog "spoiler you want a spoiler you will die alone" one reason I took the time to comment besides you made it fun is I was going to do a couple vids despite my horrible voice. I'm too much of smart ass and that wouldn't fly pun intended. you pull it off. I start to type a script intentionally general then edit it and get too detailed. I do like vids that communicate the flavor or spirit of the game in 5 min. with that being said I also like vids that show the rules and all the cards so guess what you'll see in my vids ; so my 3 sec review "in SW Xw minis you blow stuff up just like the movies. only in miniature". MTFBWY!
Can someone tell me how you resolve overlapping? I know you place it back so it’s touching at the base and you can’t perform attacks. But.. next round when you are wanting to do a manoeuvre, how do you escape from the trapped position?
You're free to move over them on the following turn! During the movement itself, you don't have to worry about overlapping. As long as your final position after moving doesn't overlap the other ship, you're golden!
This was a perfect explanation of the game, thank you, now I can finally have a go and playing it myself!
This is what I was trying to explain to my 10yo son! In the future I will do more editing. For now, I will let you explain this. Thank you.
Wow! Great video dude! Ive been trying to find someone explain this in a nice concise manner and you did an excellent job. I will be subbing!
+Zach S. We appreciate it! Glad it helped you out.
Just started playing again (now I have the time) - a great, simple refresher for casual games. Thanks 😁👍
There has been a second edition and we haven't played it, so keep that mind just in case they tweaked any rules!
First time watcher, first time commentary-er... Great video, thanks for sharing!!!
Excellent commentary-er-ing
Your sense of humor ise gold
I like that ending.
Those last 30 seconds oh boy
Loved the video. Thanks for putting it together.
Nice video, although out of date it's still a great video, and I watched it because I wanted a quick refresher after not playing for about a year.
Lol, that ending made me laugh hard. Keep up the good work.
Love this game!!
