  • Vail bike park is a bike park in Vail, Colorado. I only had one day here to ride everything I could, and have fun while I'm at it. I was SUPER impressed with Vail. They had an awesome selection of trails and maybe my favorite blue ever. They also had great amenities and it was easy to get my ticket and get around the mountain. The weather was great, with us being 1-2 weeks ahead of peak fall colors.

Awesome review! As someone who rides Vail a lot, I think we'd all agree that Radio Flyer is our favorite! I would definitely go back at some point and hit up Onza and Magic Forest, they are both fun, tech trails.

Would love to! You have instagram? DMing me there is usually the best way to get in touch :) . You can also shoot me an email at the email address on my channel page. I'll probably be at Trestle this Sunday after the race if you wanna get a few laps in there

Radio Flyer is a hell of a workout, huh! When you get to that stretch of 29 rollers you might already be gassed, and then that just pushes the heart rate to the max! This year though I’ve been cruising right through to the end or at least where you get to the road crossing. I love that trail so much. It’s not difficult to ride, but it’s hard to ride fast because it’s just so relentlessly physical. Those kind of trails are my jam.

Also, Vail definitely doesn’t have 3400ft of vertical. If you go from the top the Eagle Bahn gondola to the bottom of Gondola 1, it’s about 2200ft and that’s the most you can get. Still, I get 5-6 laps in a day and I’m smoked. It sounds like you didn’t do Magic Forest or Fred’s Lunch, which are both pretty fun trails. Magic Forest leads to the top of Old 9 Line, which is the gnarliest, steepest trail on the mountain. It’s properly scary right off the bat. Fred’s is a blue trail with more tech than Radio, and has some awesome fast sections. I don’t really promote my channel, but I have some videos of Fred’s and Radio over there.

@@natepittenger7084Thanks for commenting! I’ll pin that correction. Mountains pretty frequently boast elevation that isn’t necessarily true. Did you get 2200 from strava or something?
Yeah we rode part of old nine but not the whole thing. We didn’t do any of the magic forest. I’ll have to check those out!

@@natepittenger7084Indeed it is! radio flyer was maybe my favorite blue ever. So much flow and options for gaps. I can’t think of a blue I like more right now.

@@GnarlyBearMTB I got the elevation from google earth I think. But also Strava backs it up. If I do 5 laps it shows I did about 10-11k ft total. They probably have 3400ft somewhere on the mountain for ski season, but not where the bike park trails are.
